Zimbabwe is a very strange country. There is something fundamentally wrong. First of all, what does it mean to say "You don't have enough points" .I also had the same issue and I could only qualify for an Hr degree and decided to leave for SA and now I am an Engineer and that would have not being possible had I been in Zimbabwe. I know someone that is CA at Deloitte and she had 5 points at A level in SA.Vanhu varikuita zvavasingafariri simply because of this.Kana zvichireva kuti we need to build more universities then we must do that. I would rather be cured by a passionate doctor that had lower points because that is what they wanted to do. I honestly think we need to review a lot of our policies. How can one come back home with all these problems? I for one want to come and help build my own country. It's so disappointing. It almost looks like we are going to die in the diaspora

It's barbarians at the gate. It feels like being accepted into university becomes a guarantee that you would qualify. Instead of refusing people entry, let them push their limits where they are more comfortable

I have great respect for individuals who marry politics business and faith as skillfully as Mr Munyeza has. I especially admire the fact that he and 9 other business people approached the EU and the US with the goal to have economic sanctions lifted on our country. I would love to know the other 9 players and to hear their stories together with the man he said had accumulated a 20% position in what was then Zimbabwe Sun. Thank you as always for the great conversations Mr Ncube.

Amazing and insightful interview. Powerful questions, thank you Trevor. Awesome responses, thank you Dr Munyeza. Some of the top points for me: 1. Always ask What can I do, instead of What can I say 2. Fire people with dignity. Those people are your ambassadors 3. Have a heart for your country, and put your money where your mouth is 4. Be bold to stand for what you believe 5. Love your family and appreciate them 6. One can come from humble beginnings but intentionally grow to become highly influential

Fair play to Shingi for mustering those corporate deals without a single stock to his name. That’s as far as my adoration goes. One thing I am struggling with us Zimbabweans in general is that we have become or are too religious. Is there room for a secular Zimbabwe? Just a thought, I am neither for nor against any position. Is our being pious not part of our problems? “Hazvina mhosva, mwari ndiye anoziva”...l wonder. Our second weakness is our love for titles, every man and his dog in Zimbabwe has a PhD, or is a pastor, a spiritual father, His Excellence, ...
@bidzam
@bidzam 3 жыл бұрын
There is nothing wrong been religious but the fact is what we have been sold as religious is a lie. When you're a follower of Christ you are meant to be spiritual than been religious. These two terms seem to be intermixed but for the sake of conversation let's call it religious. The issue with Zimbabwe is the fact that we have a chat counterfeit Gospel that has been preached for a very longtime and the fact that as believers in Christ many seem to act based of the fear of men than God; hence you see a lot of duplicity on a lot of people who call themselves believers. The purpose of the Gospel is to give us a new life which is eternal and instruct us to live out that life and that newness of life unfortunately has been attached to material worth which is not what the Gospel was intended for. The Gospel is meant to prepare believers for the next world to come hence we shouldn't be fixated on the current, but what it also does is create sober citizens who should shun sin and corrupt citizens. So you have reasons to be concerned about religion based on the people who have portrayed it in the wrong way, but if you take time to do some homework you will come to the exact conclusion I have detailed.

Important lesson around hiring and firing. Firing ought to be a process that acknowledges the value added by an individual, accept that time has come to move on and open new Windows to the party leaving. Powerful

Both of you guys are so real. But you can do more by living in and with the situation in Zimbabwe. Educated and civilised strategies you apply will always be muffled and sabotaged. You are a threat to some quarters. Come in the ring of rascals and liberate all including the guards.

Sometimes the environment they are in at that time would have become toxic for them so the stop performing. Sometimes they are going through a stage in their life where they need support/affection & if they are not receiving it they stop performing/stop adding value! So it’s really a two way street in the end.
