Umar Johnson....I don't think I can find the appropriate words to express how I feel about this young man. Johnson makes me feel very proud to be Black. If African leaders are half as smart as this young man, the African Continent would not be in the mess it's in today. Plenty love and respect from Houston Texas.

There are over 50 million African Americans in this country, if only 10% are willing to donate a small fee to his mission there would be more than enough! Even if he only has a following of 50,000 people and we pool our money together there would be more than enough. For them it would be a PR nightmare. Plus, most black celebrities probably don't even give a shit about the black community so there's that as well.

Can we just take a moment to commend the Rock Newman for this quality interviewing..... I'm tired of seeing people get into nonsensical arguments with Umar when he is clearly the more knowledgeable person in the room when it comes to mental health. IT doesn't mean you have to agree with him, but I love how the interviewer lets him finish whole thoughts and build up to points. That's good. If you liked this, definitely go watch the BREAKFAST CLUB interview. That was the best interview I've seen in a long time. It was great watching young people of color talking and engaging about the REAL issues in the community. It wasn't a shouting match, it was pure respect and fun and intellectual prowess. Really good to see.

+leon scott Absolutely! Most of the interviews I've seen or heard of Dr.Johnson's have been mostly executed by dusty hotep types who have little to no professionalism, so it's refreshing to view such a well done, thorough presentation by Mr. Newman.

Leon Scott, that is what I am talking about, intelligent conversation. A lot of times people get upset when you dig deep into their minds because they don't want to know the truth on how to solve problems because they have Stockholm Syndrome to the core. I have had people tell me that I was going to hell because I showed them something in the bible that is present in today's world but they still would rather believe the lies of the oppressor. They know that it is true but they don't want to do anything about it because they don't want it to be successful. They have too much fear in their hearts. It is really crazy because people blame all of the problems on single moms when in reality I know many people that married and they have kids that do the same stupid stuff. They get upset with me when I point it out and then they try to blame it on someone else. Not realizing that this their seed and nobody's else's. This is a product of them and they must hold accountability to the fact that they had created a monster.

@chriswellz59939 жыл бұрын
+Turn_off_TV I was thinking that too. But you know, there are a few things about that website he has that would make the average person feel fishy about it. the way it's set up and the way it's presented would have the typical person thinking "Is this legit? Or is he just trying to take my money?" Because ministers do it ALL THE TIME. They talk about getting money all the time for a good cause, and then they go buy a jet. Not saying that Umar would do that, but we have to be realistic on why people are like the way they are considering the data of others. There's not so much as a phone number on the website. Not even address. Well there is one, a PO box. So to the average person, they can't help but ask if it's legit. Not that many people even know who Dr. Umar Johnson is. Even I didn't know about him until this year. I've heard his name before, but I didn't research it to know whether he was a genuine man or not. And guess how many others are suffering from that right now? So we have to consider this. The internet is a goldmind for scam artists getting money out of people. And even though Umar isn't one of them, it's a shame most people's first impression would be that. Hope that sheds some light.
@chriswellz59939 жыл бұрын
Also, I'm not even sure I would qualify for the school since I'm half white. And know most of these extremist, people like me are a plague to some. "Not black enough" or some silly shit. Don't know if Umar feels that way though. I hear a lot of things, but hopefully he's one of those black leaders that's actually not prejudice with a following that's actually not prejudice. I just had an extensive conversation with a "Black Hebrew Israelite" the other day and the conversation went no where. In her mind, I'm a disease. I'm not human, I'm this, I'm that. Just kept going on and on about that I'm a lie and she's the truth. I was like "Wow... This bitch is crazy."

PassionFashions I disagree with some points that he wants to emphasize. He wants to teach the kids how bad the white man is. I take offense to that bc I'm white and I'm being lumped into a group of older white men and women who are prejudice towards people of color. Younger white people are going to deal with the renewed prejudice he wants to teach in his school. Why do we need black and white colleges or schools? Can't we all just go to the same goddamn schools based off our GPA and test scores? If you're smart, it really doesn't matter where you grow up, you'll succeed. So if you are black and listening to this brother and agree with him send what you can because it's a start. Or else close your mouth. Their is a total of 155,222 viewers of the show and over 90% like what they heard. So if 120,000 viewers would just send $10.00 to his cause just think how much money that would be. We have the power we need to use it. Even after the money is raised 155,000 black people could donate 10 per month and keep the school running, but we as black people rather give our money to Rev. @CribNotes8 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Bad high schools are the problem, not the SAT. The SAT just proves that you went to a bad high school. It does not measure intelligence as much as it measures education level. That's why smart students can do badly on the SAT. The worst thing you can do to a smart student with a bad education is send them to Harvard or MIT where their deficiencies will be magnified greatly as the curriculum expectations jump up to the next level. It can make them suicidal to know they have the brains but never got the proper training or slacked off on their homework too much to the point where they're too far behind. This is one of the reasons top schools require top SAT scores.

Just_Bri The only racial component I see is black children not getting proper schooling and thus reading at lower than average levels. You're bitching about the questions on the SAT test? Yeah, me too when I was taking it!! But I couldn't whine about racism messing with my SAT score cause I'm a white boy!! The questions on the English Comp part of the exam are tests unto themselves before you try to choose the multiple choice answer! There were plenty of questions in there I did not understand, but based on my ability to comprehend the English language, I was able to figure out what the question was asking me. Hello? That's why it's called a test!!

I'm so glad Dr. Umar addressed his education bc some people have been on that for a while. Now it should be a nonfactor since he's laid it out in such detail.

I love the fact that the interviewer was asking to understand for himself, what Dr Johnson stands for, and not to prove what other people who don't like DR Johnson's say about him. Professionalism at its best

People keep asking me why I want to be a teacher." They don't make any money", is what I keep hearing. Dr. Umar explains it so well. So many of our boys and girls are going through the school systems and being sent into the world under educated and misrepresented. They are more than capable they just need the right support and opportunities.

Salute Sis. Teaching is a noble, but challenging & underappreciated profession. (Particularly in this white man's system in AmeriKKKa where people are taught to worship wealth & money).

Exactly. Unlike "Roland martin". He tried to line Dr Umar Up on his show. Gonna invite 3republicans to try and "handle" Dr Umar but it backfired. Dr Umar handed then their a'ses, lol

I watched Dr Umar Johnson so many times but this video was insightful for me and my wife tonight. We saved our 22 year old son from the preditors in the schools when he was in primary school in the UK. We fought hard not to list him on special education and they never did. We knew our son more than these clowns. Today he's successfully working for a major corporation from his bedroom and created small online business successfully. All because of being no nonsense parents who also had engineering and architecture education as well as being private investors. Thank you Dr Johnson and Rock Newman Show host.

This was one of the greatest interviews I’ve ever watched. Beautifully civil. If that makes sense. Before I mention Dr. Umar, I want to say, I really wish more people who are non black were more like Rock Newman. I loved how he passionately kept asking relevant questions so he can know how he can contribute to change. Most interviewers interrogate people like Dr. Umar. This was very very civil and the discussion was very personable and it seemed liked it brought positive perspectives from both ends. That being said, Dr. Umar is really an eloquent being. I know people get on him about certain things, but he seriously gives his people hope. The world really needs more educators like him in society. He speaks the truth with conviction and passion. You can hear how much he cares about what he does and you don’t see that from many people that hold his title. Overall great interview, I enjoyed this!
