The Dalek sees the Robomen as an inferior tool to their master man so seeing one dead roboman on the floor without a hat and literally in the next room a roboman standing guard doesn't make the dalek think. Plus they wouldn't be asked to do a scan because the robomen are expendables in the end. That's what my think why the dalek isn't suspicious of a possible imposter on board their impenetrable ship.

This used to confuse the hell into me when I was a kid, I always thought a roboman vanished as a joke in the scene, but only 7 robomen actually march into the room, 3 sit at the back and 5 at the front, then after getting food it's 4 at the back and 4 in the front. The Dalek must of been having an off day, he did have a look at tom a few times though, "that ones a bit iffy".

We were discussing this and found your comment after we worked it out lol. The Dalek definitely thought he looked dodgy but as they supposedly have mental breakdowns it probably assumed he was nuts lol.

This is still a great scene from an okay underrated movie featuring my favorite Villains of all time: The Daleks! I've watched this movie several times and it's a great movie! It's a shame they never got a 2nd sequel!

They were planning to turn the episode The Chase (also featuring the Daleks) into the next film like this, but for some reason it never got done. And now it probably never will.

The daleks were actually caring employers. All the robomen are clean shaven, tidy, fed regularly. There must be plumbing somewhere for... You know. Chief Dalek: "IT'S DISGUSTING BUT WE HAVE TO INSTALL IT!" "ROBOTIZE A PLUMBER, AND A BARBER!"
