DR4018 switching UK 3 aspect signal

Hello, based on your previous video’s I was able to get the home signal to work on the Z21 ⭐️ this video just simplified everything 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Is it possible to do the “distant signal” using the same methods though 🤔 either in the Z21 app or ITrain would be handy as I bought 5 of them not knowing they where yellow green yellow 😮 Any guidance would be greatly appreciated 😁 Many thanks, happy Irish ☘️ customer 💚

I'm using C R. SIGNALS with the DR4018 and common cathode converter 👍

Very helpful video as I have just bought several DR4018 units to control signals on my Swiss layout. I have 3, 4 and 5 aspect main signals as well as four light distants to configure. I have a DR5000 command station and use the latest Z21 app, which has been updated to cope with more complex style signals earlier this year. Q1. The DR4018 has NS and DB configuration presets, do I have to configure the Swiss ones differently? Q2. Using your guidance I can see that three aspect control is straightforward. How do you get the signal to go back to red after the train has passed? I am installing detection blocks feeding DR 5088RC units. Do I have to write DIGIKEIJS scripts? I not not wish to automate my layout, really I just want realistic signal automation and station area route-setting. The Z21 app makes route setting easy, including setting signal aspects.

Hello Jol what control software are you using to control the trains? iTrain or something else?

I am just using the Z21 app for route setting. I drive locos manually. I particularly like the Z21 Siemens graphics used on a tablet. It looks like a real signal panel, unlike most of the graphics of the iTrain, Rocrail, JMRI softwares. I have wired two DR5088RC to cover my ten storage loops and approach tracks. In essence I am just using the detection like track circuits on the real railway. I looked at DR scripting late last night - this may be the answer eg IF block x = Occupied , Turn signal y to red.

Thanks. There are several websites about scripting generally. But I have not seen a KZbin video on how to do it for the DR5000. The DIGIKEIJS scripting manual gives some basics. I guess I will set up a test signal and connect to my half built layout.
