DR650 Diode kit Diagram

In this video Tom explains how to wire a diode kit into a DR650. The need for a diode kit arises when you add LED turn signals to a bike with a single turn indicator on the dash. The problem is that when you turn your indicator on, the factory power output is so strong that it will blead power over to the other side of the bike, this is do also in part that LEDs use so little power to operate, the blead over makes all turn signals flash. This is a simple installation, but with many wires behind the headlight cowling it can be a bit overwhelming to those that aren't familiar or comfortable working with electrical components on their motorcycle.
This same method can be applied to any LED turn signals or motorcycle with a single turn indicator on the dash.

Sorry guys. The "blink" transitions that you used extensively toward the end of the video made it un-watchable for me. At first I thought my video card was crapping out, lol. Please consider "straight" transitions next time. thanks!

STS Industries makes a small diode harness that plugs in line with the turn signal harness as it comes out of the dash. It is plug and play. Just spend the $12 for it, you won't have to splice a bunch of crap into your wire harness to get your turn signals to work correctly. I used their harness on my 2024 DR650 when I put LED turn signals on and they work the way that they should.

Botched it! LOL - 2nd try was the charm. Thanks Gents! -- For reference for future installers: My cyclops have no yellow. Red/White/Black. Black = Ground // White = LED White Color // Red = LED Amber color. Either will flash and work just a color option with this configuration. Threw me for a bit of a loop trying to juggle everything else... & I am a bit special ed. Nonetheless pretty easy once you get it done and see it all laid out.

Clear explanation on how to install this diode. Unfortunately I Have no idea WHY I should do this as it is never explained in this video.

@@TeamProCycle No, he didn't. What do I care about 'bleed over'? Is it bad for the bike? Does it fix something wrong with the dash indicator bulb (top of diagram), does it give me 4 way flashers? What problem are we trying to fix? (Yes, I know it's to fix problems when switching to LED indicators but anyone not familiar with the problem or someone trying to figure out why LEDs don't work properly on their bike would have no clue and I doubt this vid would show up in any searches on the topic.)

this has to be the dumbest comment on KZbin... there's no reason for anyone to watch this video unless they knew exactly what they were trying to solve. it's not supposed to be a podcast or wannabe influencer type video. it's a targeted, no frills delivery of information for people who are asking the specific question "how do i install a diode on my DR650 as part of my LED indicator conversion" otherwise why would you watch this ffs

Hello! I have another implementation of the same idea. I made small harness with all this ideas implemented inside. So, installation is just disconnect indicators connector and connect back throw this new harness. No wire cut. Just connectors. I can send you my schematic of this very simple harness and you can sell harness instead of diodes
