I love the 14 tooth up front on mine. I need to just buy the kit and do this. I don't want to cut my air box either. Great video and your DR sound's very Mighty! Cheers

Thanks for posting your experience with the Procycle kit. I’ve been thinking of this kit for my 2018. Interesting point about low end power and how your bike now tractors up steep dirt hills. With stock setup, the bike in first needs to be ridden faster. I was thinking of lower gearing but you’ve shown you could improve low end usable torque with the carb kit. I’ve tried the 14-42 set up on my stock bike. Slightly better in dirt but gets buzzy at high speeds. I went back to 15-42. I understand some experimentation is needed with the Procycle carb kit. I’ll probably keep the stock airbox and exhaust. I’m 732m above sea level. I’ve watch another video where a 150 jet with stock airbox and exhaust and #4 pin position worked well at 100m above sea level. I’m thinking of using this as a base line. Anyway, thanks for the information presented and your findings. Best regards Craig

Thanks Craig! I got a 14 tooth front sprocket for Christmas and came to the same conclusion as you. Anything over 65mph was getting buzzy and didn’t like it. Will be going back to the 15/42 myself as 14/42 only good for single track. But yes being able to adjust the fuel with the kit really helps. Let me know your findings! The 150 main jet may very well work with other bikes without modifying the air box but wasn’t so with mine. If you get that hesitation from wide open throttle as you slowly roll off your main is to rich. Blessings!

Oh and anything over 87 octane gives no benefit. Ethanol free is a better expenditure of funds. I get 50mpg on almost any terrain, stock fueling and exhaust. I dont do expressways but when riding to the mountains that are 100 miles from me, I still get 50mpg, even with the 14t up front. Enjoy the ride man, I might rejet when I put this 40F0 GR1000 pipe on it. Thanks for the insight.

I wish we had ethanol free around here, so I just put 91 in. I was getting 42-48 sometimes 50 depending how I ride with stock jetting. Just fueled up today and got 37.8 mpg with recent riding but been riding extremely hard and above 80 lots of times. Otherwise seem to get like 42mpg with the 145 main jet and needle on 3rd knotch turned a hare over 1 full turn out. Never modded the airbox and don’t want to. I want to be able to have at least 120 miles of range. And taking my 2.5 gallon rotopax with todays gas mileage puts me at least 210 miles.

Well done. Re: rpms, mine is 14t up front and I don’t hit 5th til 60, unless I’m rolling level or goin downhill with no load on the engine. What exhaust do you have?

DG V2 and I LOVE it! It barks…has that deep throaty sound like a 4 stroke should

Needle has no effect at full throttle. It's all main jet. 150 seems pretty big with snorkel still in.

Yes sir! Didn’t upload another video but did put in the 145 2 days ago and no more little hesitation when slightly rolling off throttle from WOT. The ol girl needs more air flow for that 150. I might mod the air box next summer but happy with performance right now. Better low and mid range with adjustable fuel screw and needle

Did you get that little delay in 4th fixed?
@hegemonictrader458 ай бұрын
Yea I talked about it in my final update video. Was to rich on the main with the 150 jet. I need to cut the airbox with that. So I dropped down to the 145 main jet and theres no more hesitation rolling off throttle from wide open throttle. Im also the 3rd knotch on the needle

@@hegemonictrader45 i seen alot saying that making a flat spot on the plastic ring on needle so it fits down in better makes a big difference.

@@TheKingOfKings818 yea I thought I initially had that blip because of positioning needle wrong but its not the case. It actually sits down there just fine as is though.

How many hours did this job take ?
@hegemonictrader455 ай бұрын
If you’re good, have the proper tools to break fee stock carb bolts then probably an hour or less. For me it took a little longer just taking my time etc. It takes longer to get it tuned playing with needle setting and main jets
