The Realm of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb has dragons featured. In the first two books they are not as important but their importance increases which is novel. There's even an entire series (The 4th one) focused on them. It's called The Rain Wild Chorincles but well you should need to read the previous three trilogies 🐲

I hear that Jenn Lyon's The Ruin of Kings has dragons in it but I haven't read it yet! I also hear Jo Walton's Tooth and Claw is a good dragon book as well. I've read the first few books of Naomi Novik's Temeraire series about dragons and if you love dragons who talk and freaking loved them. It's set during to Napoleonic War if there were dragon riders. Temeraire /may/ be my favorite dragon character and her relationship with her rider Lawrence is just so perfect.

Adore the concept for this video - thank you for sharing your dragon enthusiasm! Tea dragons sound utterly adorable. Have you ever read The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her own Making by Catherynne Valente? Not sure it would count as a dragon book per se because it's a side character, but there is a Wyvary, half wyvern and half library, and he's really great! Also Genevieve Cogman's Invisible Library series has dragons which have the ability to take human form but are beings of pure order. I imagine them more like Chinese dragons in their true form, but they are engaged in this big feud with Fae who are beings of chaos, and then our main character is a librarian who is trying to maintain balance between the two. It's a lot of fun! Good luck with your finals!

All told from a dragons point of view, a really amazing series. Dragon stones by James V Viscosi (some dragon POV). Dragons Ring by Dave Freer (some dragon POV). The Black Wing by Mary Kirchhoff (all Dragon POV) and Song in the Silence trilogy by Elizabeth Kerner where a woman meets and falls in love with the dragons (dragons POV aswell). The Dragoncharm trilogy and Song in the Silence trilogies especially are a MUST read.

In children's literature there is Jen Campbells's Franklin and Luna series. Absolutely beautifully written and illustrated little gems they are. Then there is Rumblestar by Abi Elphinstone, that also features dragons, little and big ones, the little one is absolutely cuddly and the book is a fantastic magical read. Then Stephanie Burgis who started a series with The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart. I loved this book so much and highly recommend it, and then there is Dragon Daughter by Liz Flanagan, that is Middle Grade going over into YA, where the dragons play a crucial role. These are all middle grade and YA authors based in the UK.

Good suggestions! I am definitely planning on adding some of these to my tbr! I totally forgot that the Wild Magic series had dragons, I can't wait to go reread them. Is the book you are trying to remember called Dragonology? It has a red dragon skin cover. I think it came out about 10 or 15 years ago. I remember reading it over and over again. I have a dragon recommendation video coming out too in a little bit that'll be mostly MG dragon books.

I know Naomi Novik and Julie Kagawa wrote a Dragon series. Never read it though. Also Firebolt by Adrienne Woods is mainly dragons I think. Tess of the Road Dragon Marked by Jaymin Eve Uprooted? (Is it an actual dragon? Idk haven’t read it yet) Before She Ignites has prominent dragons The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan Nimona

I have not read and LOVE hearing about all of these. Tess of the Road actually has been a book I've wanted to read for awhile! Thanks for reminding me! Nimona too! I'll have to look into all of these! again THANK YOU SO MUCH! :D

Game of Thrones looks smaller BUT IT IS NOT SMALL DO NOT BE DECEIVED! I am going to be reading Priory of the Orange Tree this year :D And I am soo going to finish Clash of Kings. I must :D I love dragons too. I think I love mermaids most but dragons come in a close second. I love that in Dealing with Dragons the dragons have their own magic system and also can do spells :) The Immortal Series ;.; Why have I stillll not read it yet or bought book one DD: I need to get on that. Tea Dragon Society has an Earl Grey dragon and that just makes my tea lover heart so much. I have seen that one around so much but nothing has actually got into my mind that it is TEA + DRAGONS which is actually two things I love in one. I might have to read that now! I have read The Last Namsara and I didn't head over heels love it, but I liked it. I liked the twist ending and one of the secondary characters. I think I'm going to try The Caged Queen. Onyx & Ivory is on my wishlist ever since your wrap up where you raved about it! And it sounds amazing. Rachael pointed out A Natural History of Dragons when we were in the bookshop and now I want to read it more. I have read The Hobbit but I have to admit I didn't really like it ;.; And I totally forgot Harry Potter actually does have dragons in it DD: Oh, and this is the loosest, LOOSEST definition of dragons ever. I mean, I don't think I can even properly call them dragons. Okay, let's not call them dragons. But Jade, I think you'd really like The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova. She's an underrated author, the book is fantastic and the steampunk and magic system is amazing. It only gets better in the sequel!!
@JadeJuniiper5 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh, you're a mermaid person. That works, that checks out, that totally makes sense. Clash of Kings is kicking my ass xD There is a sequel to Tea Dragons coming out so get on it! After you go and do amazing things with very few books. xD.... you WOULD forget HP has dragons in it. My poor beloved books.. lol Hobbit was solid for me, but it was read to me quite a few times when I was little so I was pretty accustomed to the story. LOVE how are your selling The Alchemists of Loom by Elise Kova. You had me at YOU liking it, but steampunk magic was a bonus!

@JadeJuniiper5 жыл бұрын
hahaha oh my gosh. That build up. Good luck!
@sarahteter63105 жыл бұрын
Worst build up ever, 20 pages in. My father certainly had forgotten the treatment of women in these books (their only use thus far is having children and the series is written by a woman) and I suppose he has a higher tolerance for every 4th word being made up by the individual author requiring a glossary and extremely slow reading pace. I've only seen hope in the dragons being able to communicate with their riders and think if I ever touched this series again it'd be by her son's continuation as apparently his treatment of women is exceedingly better. Fair warning if you're looking into Pern, try her son's books for a less outdated approach.
