At 1:20 when you mentioned that Definitive host is MAN, do you mean males? or human in general? Also could there be any other types of worms/parasite living in the same area as well? (In the same wound under the skin)
@MedVidsMadeSimple6 жыл бұрын
I meant humans in general at that point. And yeah! In the blister site on the skin where worms are present, secondary infections by bacteria can occur, which leads to formation of abscesses. I've mentioned this as a complication in this video. But I haven't explained much about how abscesses form in this video. I think now you would have understood how abscesses form there :)

Already l3 larvae has entered so why l 1 again
@shantanukumar53634 жыл бұрын
Because L3 larva which has entered the GIT reaches subcutaneous tissue and retroperitoneum via penetration of gut wall and matures in to make and female worm which releases L1 larva through blisters in water to maintain the population .

BUT are only female guinea worm cause? what about male
@MedVidsMadeSimple6 жыл бұрын
Hey! It's actually a nice doubt. Let me explain. When Cyclops containing L3 larvae enters stomach on drinking contaminated water, there will be release of the larvae. Then they penetrate the stomach wall and intestinal wall. They undergo further development to male and female worms. Then they undergo mating. Soon after mating, the male worm dies. But the female worms will stay and they release the L1 larvae when that person gets in a water body like pond and the cycle continues. This is why we say that female worms are mainly responsible for spreading the infection. I hope I clarified your doubt. Feel free to ask me if you have any other doubts. 😊

Bro first get yourself corrected use "too " instead of "to" .... And it's a great quality of a teacher when he speaks the concepts repeatedly because it makes things easier to remember !
