The game: The killer crabs are chill and will defend the ship if they are fed Drae: **reads the first line saying crabs got on his ship** WHY ARE THEY ON THE SHIP? HOW DO I ATTACK THEM? HOW DO I GET THEM OFF? Classic Drae moment lol love it.

The crabs are a trade-off: you give them food, they protect your ship from enemies that board. Let them live in peace, take your food, and enjoy their protection!

Drae buys an skull launcher....whatever that is.... "Screw it, I want that, I don't know what it does." Drae obtains an musketoon Shhhkematic.....whatever that is.... "So I guess we can unlock that." Drae makes a axe...."And finally I get my handy dandy axe!" and we hand over our Royal Courier to our untamed content creator for a hot lap on the open seas. "So we get to go to an island...."

IIRC, the team behind this got together making Rimworld mods. Cool to see their own game getting attention. Btw, it looks like if you feed the crabs they will defend your ship from boarders.

Classical Drae, failing to pay attention. The crabs are a double-edged sword, they hang around in your ship and need to be constantly fed. As long as you feed them, they'll protect your ship in certain situations, presumably on deck attacks. However if you neglect to feed them, they'll attack you instead.

@@PFCIceman Aye, the art style is closer to that. I'd argue that the art is the easiest thing to change though, and gameplay-wise it's less like either game and more like FTL.

No 'scurvy' ... being more realistic would have been more interesting, but I guess not very many folks would like micro-managing diseases and unsanitary conditions during that time period this game is set in.
