Just a quick tip, one of the reasons you keep spending so much money on pipes is because you keep making short pipes. It costs a bit of money to initiate the pipe. Longer, unbroken pipes are most cost efficient than pipes with a lot of segments on them. It's why you did the worst at the deep digging minigame. Of course there are benefits to having a lot of segments as well, like providing more nodes to drill off of when you find other deposits of oil or water near one of your pipes.

Yeah I know the cost of long pipes is way cheaper and I admit maybe I go a bit hard on the short pipes but they're very useful for connecting and searching. I'll definitely consider more mole use to target the nodes though so I can use larger pipes

I think you might be spending a lot more by making your pipes so short. It looks like each pipe costs $100 plus an additional cost based on length (not sure about the exact numbers, but let's assume $5 per meter). Based on that, if you use four pipes to cover a distance of 20 meters, you are spending ($100 x 4) + ($5 x 20) = $500, whereas using one pipe would only cost ($100 x 1) + ($5 x 20) = $200.

Yeah especially as he doesn't have to worry about rock. before if you hit a rock and you didn't have the drill upgrade you'd lose out as you still paid but not get the full length of pipe so doing short pipes was a way to mitigate that. but you pay more for pipes for the reason you say there is a base price.

you started to do it a few times, but in order to really get all your oil out, pay attention to the flow, if you are connected to more than one node, and that node is still trying to drain but the pipe is empty, then the pipes towards the rig are to small and restricting flow...typically your fine to connect to a node via tier 1 pipe, but the mains need to be larger, almost at a rate of tier per node to help the flow....basically always the connecting pipe section to a rig needs to be max upgrade....then if need be you can go T2 pipe on a larger node, but if there is alot connected still, you need EVEN BIGGER mains. ALSO try to leave one wagon to just ferry the oil into storage and not full selling, might need two or more with 3+ rigs, but normally two horses manage against 3 rigs...this prevents even a dollar of spillage fines.

Small short pipes add extra cost for every possible connection point. For money efficiency you want longer pipes. I have no idea why Drae, considering he's so 'advanced' is prospecting by making pipes. As you see he hits water (among other things) randomly which screws up the system and will cost you money in fines later. Also you rarely want to connect your rigs together without a interconnect below it as once you reach the gas bonus levels if you shut down your rig the gas can't pass beyond the rig to get to the oil delivery point. If anyone wants some real gameplay tips go to the Turmoil youtube page. It's kind of crazy how well they know their game.
