I don't hate passing crys in that pack filled with aldrazi cards . Setting urself up to be hooked up in future packs and not fighting too many ppl for green is a recipe for success at the higher levels in this and most formats. Happy to see other ppl willing to make disciplined picks like that.

yeah no way i'm passing glasswing grace as often as you do. it's a win-con in of itself and it can bring you back in game with 6+ flying lifelink and helps stop flood as a dfc. also, never going shields down with hydroelectric there

I think the reason he’s lower on the card than like literally everyone else is because he used it quite poorly on his first draft from the prerelease in a black white deck. I don’t remember any other videos where he picks it highly so i think his first impression of the card really stuck with him

26:50 I think cracking the landscape was a pretty big mistake. You can always just do that at instant speed and leave up mana for specimen. If you need to use the specimen to protect the culler, you can just wait to get your landfall value on your next turn, and if you don't need to protect it and they tap out or low, you can just get your trigger end of turn. The only real reason to do it at sorcery speed is to hit a 2 mana creature, but that's so unlikely and even then it's not clear that's better than leaving up specimen.

Oh man. Deeply disappointed how this turned out for you. I can only imagine if you went green/red and took the multiple chrysalis that you’ve passed up

Because of how drafting works, there would not have been any additional Chryses after the first had Gomlet picked the first one up. This was sarcasm.

I think Hydroelectric Specimen feels bad for you in general because of your psychology as a player. I would never have lost that game, because I am always leaving the Specimen up in that spot, but that is because I am at my happiest when I can do nothing with my mana (obviously while not losing at the same time) if I have any sort of counter-type effect / safety net up and the board situation is somewhat level. If I am ahead I will happily lose all my mana for the turn if the opponent does not do anything. Whereas you, it seems to me after following you for over a year, have almost pathological need to use all of your mana effectively every turn and force the issue in games. "You are an aggro player by heart" I guess, as you often say yourself. I am a full-on control durdler. Neither of these is right or wrong, or better than the other, as it always depends on the situation, but I find this fundamental difference between us as players fascinating. You win games a lot faster than I would in many situations, but will also lose in some spots where I would not. In any case, tough luck and better luck next time!

You can't afford to sit back and not spend your mana in modern limited, not sure how you are consistently setting up situations where you can afford to not spend mana turn after turn, but that is not likely to be the case in high level limited unless you have a deck full of instants (and there's not really an instant-speed deck in this format)

I hate to say it but u really have to stop passing insights when ur black based especially UB. Same goes for glassing grace. These cards r just too good in UB u always wish u had more cheap card draw to turn om ur snackers and kamis. There was an early pick where u could have taken the mdfc draw 2 also. Def not as good in non energy decks but still good. U don't want ue creatures to b ur card draw engines because ur opponents will target those with removal primarily.
