Drafting Star Wars Unlimited: I Was WRONG, Chewie is STRONG!

In this video I discuss how Chewie may be much better in draft than some (including myself!) first thought, as well as some draft tactics that might be effective when playing Chewbacca!

Between this video and your baron method for draft you have a huge amount of gratitude from me! Played a draft today and came 1st using chewie. Won all three games 2-0 and felt pretty good throughout. Was a few challenging sabine decks, but they just couldn't beat the endless sentinel.

Boosting units with bail organa who was protected by sentinel was great. The rogue squadron skirmisher was an mvp ambusher to bring back bail too (only took this due to baron method and boy did it pay up). Kanan with the lightsaber really punished too. Only weakness was my lack of space units, but the amount of removal i used combined with starvipers made sentinel by chewie carried it. Won the final match by using entrenched on an opposing space unit

Awesome vid as always. Love to see some walking carpet! That’s why I never like to say a leader/card is “bad”. Rather, that card is under explored and receives low representation as a consequence.

My second time playing draft I played Chewbacca Cunning and really enjoyed it. I did really well went 2-1 had I not made some bad misplays on the loss may of went 3-0. Also had some great Rebel synergies with rogue operatives, wing leaders and fleet lieutenants. Along with some additional sentinels to go along with Chewbacca’s action.

In the draft i selected jyn erso, boba end ig-88. At the beginning I started collecting one-aspect orange cards, to match boba and jyn. I selected 2 crafty smugglers for example, i chosed also bossk and 7fleet defender and I was almost decided to select Boba. During the first and second booster draft I noticed a lot of strong red black cards including palpatine(one booster had 2palpatine, one foil LOL), so i finally decided to choose the worst leader - ig-88 with orange base. And I also collected chimera ;) which won one game for me. And I won the draft ;) I think nobody expected that I will choose underrated IG. I think it is very important to not choose the hero too fast and choose 1 aspect cards during the first booster. 1 aspect cards (if they are not black or heroic) are useful for any hero. And also noticing what strong cards are not taken, because you want to get the aspects that are not popular amongst your rivals. Hero skill is only small factor in the draft. And I never counter-picking, it can be done only when you have nothing useful to choose

IG88 is way better than people claim. No, he's not going to be the constructed deck champ at a big 5k tournament. But he will win plenty of games and can probably do well in draft if you are able to grab lots of cheap hard hitting units.

Off topic question, let's make this simple, If I play Admiral Ackbar and one is already in play would I be dealing 1 damage or 2 damage? I know one dies as a result of two uniques under your control at the same time.

I drafted Chewie once and went 2-2. Lost against Sabine aggro, because his space presence was too much for me and against Boba that simply outtempoed me. To be fair, I wouldn't have won against the winner of the tournament with Tarkin either. I personally think that Chewie is one of the worse leaders, because while he can prolong the game with sentinels and healing, the best leaders can value trading into you, play efficient removal or arena dodge you.

Sentinel is very strong in draft in particular
