And I continue to drive My father's 2016 Vento DSG on solo trips, and I just love it's sheer power delivery and driving dynamics, esp when it's in Sports Mode. Infact I toggle transmission modes (Auto/Manual/Sports) according to traffic conditions so that I can enjoy it's performance

Man I can see Kushaq 1.5 TSI lined up against the XUV 700 and the hatchbacks like Figo,Polo and Abarth punto their I cannot wait for more drag races.Taigun vs Seltos will also be a good one.But for me its definitely the Polo 1L TSI vs Figo 1.5 TDCI and XUV 700 VS Kushaq.In the intro I can see the Polo winning against the XUV 700.

How is the new city a drivers car? just because of the name ? they made the suspension soft and steering softer and vague in the latest iteration. Apart from their fuel efficiency (Without v-tec), there is nothing special about the city. Car has become lighter, suspension not so good imho, started to become scary. And we all know about the stock tyres the car comes in!! Haven’t driven the latest model. Frankly not bothered about funky wheels or DRLs or touchscreens et al.. And maintenance costs has started to be on the higher side these days. With only Amaze, jazz, brv & city to sell, I think Honda might go down sooner in 🇮🇳.

The 1L tsi is anyday better at the top end but most people don't know the DCT/DSG always have a launch disadvantage without launch control in front of torque converter

Vento is about to get the axe only to be replaced by virtus and rapid has already been replaced by Slavia. These two come mated with DSG 1.5 ltr engine. I can only imagine how they will decimitate all the rivals in terms of sheer performance.

I don't know but is it only me to think That Hyundai has made a blunder for not giving the 1.4 L turbo in Verna As they have given in Creta It would have been awesome combination of aerodynamics of sedan and 250nm Diesel like torque of a petrol engine

Vento and Rapid definitely lead the segment. So much fun to drive and amazing handling. The only problem with Volkswagen group is their issues with ABS sensor, that makes the ownership experience a nightmare.

The TSI engine is definitely better among the turbo petrols. Hyundai verna with the earlier 1.6 crdi was definitely the fastest diesel in the segment.

Well, some of the fastest shifting gearboxes in passenger cars are Torque converters ( BMW 8 speed and Merc 9 speed ZF boxes!). DCTs/DSGs especially those found in your everyday passenger vehicles cannot hold a candle to these!

Previous gen verna 1.6crdi was even quicker than the cars a segment above (barring that mad old manual civic) and thrilling to drive in city or drag races, present gen verna engines are meh. They should give it their 1.4 turbo petrol dct, may be in "n line" guise. The upcoming slavia1.5 tsi with dsg should be the quickest by a long margin amongst its peers. Something that skoda is doing good and others are not.

If you do dyno test of vw cars you will always found it more what they ask you while selling their cars.. Proudly having vw vento highline plus 13 model.. Hyundai has never been known for fast petrols, so there's no match on this especially against a VW TSI torque converter. Unfortunately there's no way to test Hyundai's CRDi 1.5/1.6 against VW as the latter has no diesel option.

I was expecting the Verna to lose but still it did pretty good. The vento wasn't leading and this Verna is the heaviest car offered with the 1.0 litre turbo gdi and according to autocar timings it takes around 13secs from 0 to 100 which is pretty slow. And that dct sounds great but some say not me due to heating issues Hyundai has tuned this dct for reliability probably.

verna actually comes with the best tuning 1.0l turbo petrol and has a better PTW ratio but still TSI is the king and yes that dct gearbox is actually not so reliable as i had seen some unsatisfied customer of kia seltos(af that uses same gearbox) and hyundai creta automatic

The Hyundai/ Kia 1.0ltr Turbo combined with the commuterish unreliable DCT loses to the much humble yet reliable VW 1.0ltr Turbo mated to a Torque Converter Auto easily!.. It's not the paper figures that matter always..

To all those shouting out loud for Vento. Let me tell you the truth as an owner to both of these cars. I had verna back in 2009 and right now got both the vento and the verna 2009 top model petrol automatic (also got a polo).. So yes you get better performance and handling from vento but that gonna cost you hell a lot, this is the 4th time the turbo blew up and oil chamber cracked 40000, EGR costs 35000, headlight switch is 14000, back in 2015 the turbo was 85000, and they breakdown a lot. So, in that case i would say Verna is way better the cost to maintain a verna would be 90% cheaper than a Vento. German cars are sensitive so if its 5w40 than it cant be 5w30 or 10w40.. Fueled up Polo at essar and the poor quality oil blew up the turbo and malfunctioned the EGR. But the fortuner i have can even run of coke cola or refined oil and still be cruising like freshly serviced.

It would have been more practical if the second race would have done by switching the drivers bcoz most of the times when the cars are at Par with Power&Torque… its the driver who WINS the race… Still the logical explanation of different gearbox is satisfactory enough to conclude that Vento is more punchy but still switching drivers would have made it more interesting.
