To address the most common complaint in the comments: This series took many people and many, many hours of planning and executing from all of us. We all knew beforehand what the challenges would be and we worked collaboratively to establish them, since considerable planning went into creating, filming, and participating in them. We had "me" deliver the challenges when shooting rather than the Top Gear version "a producer just handed me this envelope" just for the sake of expediency on camera -- and I barely considered that the audience would actually think that a production of this scale was created entirely by me on the spur of the moment. Clearly that was an error. Nobody had any advantages, literally none of us cared in the slightest about winning, we were all just a group of friends out in the desert having fun with cars 😊

The dry leg bed drag racing was one before it even started. The Cayenne turbos all wheel drive. None of the other cars are. This makes such a huge difference for traction. Exponential difference in the dirt.

This is a great series and I'm enjoying it, but it reinforces what magic in the bottle Clarkson, Hammond and May ("CHM")were, and how hard it is to banter about cars on video. Doug's falsetto (or whatever that was) starting here (kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHOxdXZviNGpfsU) was not his best moment. I think we all love when there's a great dig at someone else in these types of videos, but whatever Doug was doing at that point, is not what I think anyone is looking for. And it's a reminder of how brilliant CHM were in tearing each other down in clever and funny ways. And while Doug's choice was obviously the best one (based on the results), this video in the series feels more like a boss picking on his employees or a coach of a youth baseball team absolutely slamming kids' performance than fun banter. EDIT: I ordered a T-shirt to be entered in the contest (and that Lambo T-shirt looks cool)_, and had a minor heart attack when I received an email from "Cars & Bids" that my order was confirmed. I thought I had accidentally bought a new car!

This was a really fun mini-series. It's great to see the four personalities and I think Doug's friends will be more confident on camera with more experience. The camera team did a great job as well. I think future iterations would benefit from having the appearance of producer-selected challenges (with an envelope).

I don’t think that’s actually what happened. Doug wanted a panamera. He’s always wanted a cayenne turbo. But since he’s a “car guy” his friends always made fun of him for it. So he said “I’ll prove that the cayenne turbo is the best all around vehicle on the market for its dollars and cents.” And then proceeded to buy all of his friends their dream cheap vehicle with company dollars. 100% of this is a write off, and then they can sell themselves these cars for dirt cheap after the challenge, at a loss, which is yet another part of the write off. It’s a business move, and there’s no way they’re giving the cayenne away, it’s gonna be the corvette because they’re a dime a dozen and fillipo doesn’t really want that one, he wants a newer one.
