2021 Tesla Model S review & pricing: edmu.in/3kKYz7Z
Read about this epic face-off: edmu.in/38ETzfn
Today's drag race is a special one. First, we have the 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid. Sporting a 0-60 time of 2.3 seconds at our test track, the Model S Plaid is the fastest Tesla money can buy. And second, we have a special guest driver to join us on the track. Chris Moore is motorcycle drag racer and tuner, and he's brought a 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa and 2021 Kawasaki ZX-14R to race against the Plaid. It's the first time we have had the privilege to race a motorcycle on our test track, and it couldn't have come at a better time. With the Plaid S outputting 1,020 horsepower, we needed something a little different to go up against it. Does the fastest Tesla have what it takes to keep up with Chris and his bike? We can't wait to find out! This is our electric car vs. motorcycle drag race of the Tesla Model S Plaid and the Suzuki Hayabusa.

I agree.... 9 sec Tesla Plaid is by far the biggest bang for $100+ K. However... Mr. Lago is wrong, Plaid is not the fastest production car. 150 samples of Rimac Nevera makes it production car ("4 wheel vehicle) and it is faster then Tesla. Rimac can do quarter mile in 8.5 sec. I am guessing he was talking about fastest affordable car...

Man I remember those days too. Now all my rc cars are brushless for speed runs and racing, and brushed for crawling and off roading. Nitro is still special too me but the electric cars are so fast now its not even reasonable. I saw an arrma rc car run an 8.5 second quarter mile and beat an F1 car. Unreal. Mine can't break 70 mph but it will get to 70 faster than pretty much anything besides a faster rc car. I raced a friend's audi r8 to 70 with my rc for fun and it wasn't even close. You could fit 4 more audi R8's in the gap I put on him.

@LU X do I need to spell everything out for you? Go watch all the old videos of the model s being raced against multi million dollar combustion cars on private drag strips. You’ll see countless comments about how either it’s not fast enough or how it runs out of power after 100mph. Now they proved they can not only produce an ev that’s faster it’s also cheaper. Now people are complaining it’s “too fast” if you have a problem with the speed of this car just make sure you share that outrage for every single fast car on sale. Ridiculous what we expect from a safe comfortable daily driver family sedan. The performance in Plaid mode is just as insane (without activating dragstrip mode) or, yes, "Plaid". No question about the Tesla's performance, but can't Edmunds get a real dragstrip venue for acceleration testing? Willow is 2600 ft of elevation, dusty and windy and prone to extreme temps much of the year. I'd like to see what vehicles will do at a place with better pavement, a level surface and more reasonable average conditions. How about Famoso in Bakersfield? Sure its an extra 50 miles of driving, but its a much better track surface and conditions, and under 600 ft of elevation.

nope, it's got a shorter wheel base than the ZX-14 and from launch it gets destroyed by the 14.. you can't keep the front wheel down enough on a H2R and to prevent it flipping or washing out the rider has to keep throttling off to maintain control.. whereas the 14 is much more grounded and center of gravity combined with stance proportionately superior for hard launches and also rollons at speed.
