Yeah would be an awesome way to remake designs to unify them. (I still prefer the darkspawn of Dao) But the effort work would be too much. So fun fact this isn't quite the darkest timeline. It DAO siding with harrowmont has the worst ending for the dwarves, even though its the most moral choice. Bhelen actually gives more rights to the commoners and casteless, improves surface relations and overall improves orzamars disposition. Whilst all harrowmont successfully does is reclude the dwarves even more and keep the casteless rightless. Of course Bhelen also executes every last member of House harrowmont sooooo.... but in terms of big picture bhelen is actually the best choice for the world at large.

@@DraculaCronqvist She has done some bad things, but I still like her character more compared to other companions, because she is so flawed, flaws is what makes characters interesting and seeing her being changed by Hawke and question her beliefs is just a golden character arc in my book. Btw, her betrayal has to do with her trust in Hawke, that is what is being betrayed, the consequences of her actions is a different argument, you can say that Hawke is justified in betraying her, that I agree, but you can also understand that Isabella had it rough and making this leap of faith in trusting you is something that she would not do under normal circumstances, not excusing her actions, but seeing where she came from, the player can empathise with her and see things from her perspective and at the end of the day, props to BioWare for giving us good writing with awesome characters and hard choices like this.

The main complaint I think most people have is how rushed the whole game feels, a lot of reused asset and bugs. I like it a lot as well, I think the story is very interesting and the way it's told is great. Always been a sucker for a more personal story instead of saving the world/chosen one plots and Hawke rise to champion is quite good. Only problem is that this game has a lot of "your choices don't matter" moments and for the plot to unfold the way it did Hawke&Crew must make a lot of stupid decisions, again I blame the short dev time for a lot of the plot holes But to this day I still remember struggling with the templar/mage debate, especially since the mages of Kirkwall have shown to be as much of a monster as the chantry made them out to be(I believe every single named Mage, except for Bethany, is a blood mage or has some dealings with demons) One of the few times in a BioWare RPG where there is no convenient "best" answer (at least morally) and it's picking between the lesser of two evils Well written overall plot

These bad choices stacked one after the other are really funny. It's like...why would anyone who's meant to be a hero do that? I've had playthroughs where I've been stern and harsh, but I still managed to keep as many companions as possible because regardless of my character's alignment and values, they always want to have as many hands available to solve the problem as possible. The line that cracks me up is when Hawke says, "The boy's been working with blood mages since he was in swaddling clothes." When I first heard that on a bad choice playthrough, I thought I was going to piss myself laughing.

If you max out Anders rivalry you can make Anders fight against the mages, wherein it's implied that he plans to kill himself afterwards that way you can make Sebastian leave, and make Anders absolutely miserable and probably kill himself

I think you could have done one better. There is a scenario where if you side with the mages, Avaline can confront you and leave you before the final battle. You can still kill Anders if you side with the mages. This would leave you with only Merril (whom you sadly can't get rid of if you side with the mages) and Varric. Two companions. The absolute minimum at the final battle. . . though you'd also be stuck with Sabastian in this case, but you could just not recruit him. Also, while this doesn't negatively affect your companions, siding with Sister Patrice is another really rare evil scenario. Edit: I see you're aware of the avaline leaving scene. Sorry. I just thought that was a really cool scene.

Whats interesting about Merrills quest for the artifact is that your choice actually fits well into a "good Hawke" play through. Merrill is completely obsessed with the mirror and blind to the dangers of blood magic. Her naivety also makes her a particular risk when dealing with demons. The keeper is right and honoring her wishes seems like the best thing to do.

I once did an Evil Run where I rivalmanced poor Anders and forced him to side with the Templars with me, but it's pretty bugged so it took a lot of meddling. However I still didn't give up Fenris or Isabela (mostly because I love fighting the Arishok). The one upside was having 3 mages in my final party and having templars bow down to them XD

So, I actually experienced a similar glitch to Big Dan's act 3 issue with Fenris. it happened the last time I played DA2, where the final boss cutscene starts when I returned home after beating the game and I hit resume to go back to my house to get Sandal's dialogue which sets up DAI.

You know you can betray the two guys who offer you work when you are in kirwall for the firts time? just acept the money from the merchant or spare the guy who the mercenary ask you to kill, you have to do one of the two so you can work for one and continue the story, so later on you can do the opposite of the other one who didn't betray yet tell you to do and tell the truth to that one about you didn't do what he asked you, and then you can face the two of then in the night, separatedly sadly xD but hey, more loot and experience, i heard there are more levels in DA2 i think, but it is impossible to get the max level without cheats :/ Too bad, DA2 is my favorite despite the hate they give to the game :”) Also i like the evil playthought, is hilarious and being a blood mage is so cool and so wrong to be called hero in that way xD
