I think it makes even more sense if Alistair and the warden are king and queen. I know a lot of people weren't happy with the warden going off on a selfish personal quest during a world-ending apocalypse. But in this case it's not only extending their lives but giving them a chance of having an heir while she's still young enough to do so, which is crucial if they want to ensure the political stability of their country.

The code-named game "joplin" was supposed to be a narrative based experience in tevinter - like DA:2 (i think) but was cancelled when EA knew there wasnt an online element to it... So... "morrison" is currently an Anthem style dragon age game in developement. So maybe not fully a dragon age title bar name.

Damn, if you have this Alistair how could you kill him, and just screw over your Warden like that? I like Hawke, but Al is my bestie/lover, I just can't bring myself to part with him. Although I wonder if this is the last we'll see of him, since he's had the opportunity to die several times by now, and he says he'll be with the warden forever if he makes it. I'll miss him terribly, but if my Warden gets a happy ending with him, I'll be okay with that.

Initially, Bioware said just because you had to leave a character behind in the fade doesnt mean they are dead. However, I feel like too much time has passed since Bioware saying this and the new game for them to remember. I guess the new game is supposed to happen nearly 10 years since the Trespasser dlc, which means it’s supposed to be 20 years at least since the events of Origins.

Ugh, I had this setup on my first playthrough. My poor Hawke had been through so much, it was just the perfect sacrifice to cap off the tragedy. At least it stuck. At least everyone else could actually be saved this time.

I wished they could make a DLC about helping the Origins' Hero find a way to stop the calling. But with the character customization and having no voice...could they bring back the Warden. I say just have the voice actress of FemShep take the female wardens spot and figure something out. I miss the characters from the first one. I wished you could just have Leliana in your party. Every time I talk to her it makes me realize they're still my favorite. And I still want a happily ever after for my warden. I unfortunately don't feel the same way for Hawke.

The Warden actually talk in Dragon Age Origins on certain occasions like opening chests and stuff as far as I recall. Just one short line but they had theoretically voices.

So, it should be fine then, :). This whole story line of the Warden off and trying to stop the Calling is either a giant cop out by Bioware to explain why the Warden isn't in the story, or a lead up to something else (I hope). But at the of Origins didn't they have a line at the end that said the Warden just one day disappeared - never to be seen again. I remember it saying that when my Warden became Queen. Also in DA2 it made it seem like Hawke just disappeared (which turned out to be a lie). I have a feeling Bioware changed there mind about something. "Like, ummm nevermind. Hawke was hiding and Warden is fine and off trying to save the Wardens." I could be wrongs about that, of course.

So Aenil Good point, but they had that issue with the DLC Amakeing. Didn't they just insert another warden? Maybe they can use the same last name of the warden that would have been created then, if your original warden died. I'm not sure how all that worked out; though, I had my warden die once (and then I watched the funeral scene and recieved the trophy) before I restarted at the end and had her become queen with Alister. :) But your right, we'll probably only hear about our warden through letters, or random by random converstation from old party members. My only hope is if they do have a DLC about saving our warden from "the calling," I'm keeping my fingers cross for that unlikely event.

I would love Bioware to death if they did a DLC like that with ether The Warden/The Hero of Ferelden or The New Warden Commander from Awakening if The Warden Died in Origins(which is the case in the "Canon" and the Default World State) and Alistair, Loghain or Hawke depending on who you left alive in Inquisition. From what i'v heard though the reason Bioware isn't bringing The Warden back is because it "includes giving a voice to a voiceless character" and that the Hero of Ferelden is too important to be done justice, thats what the Wiki says anyway. I'd say the Hero of Ferelden doens't need a voice but after DA2 and IQ people most likeley expect a fully voiced character. So in conclusion i doubt they will bring The Warden/Hero of Ferelden back at all but the least they could do is mention something and give a clue if he/she found a cure to the calling. While i love my Inquisitor i loved my Warden MUCH more.

I love to have Alistair in this game as Warden, especially as he is romanced by my Warden (and she is a mage, even better). However, I have to say he sounds very tired now, I am not referring to this scene in specific but overall most of his dialogues, and with "he sounds very tired" I actually meant Steve Valentine and not Alistair.

I played the exact choices that would make him appear in DAI, but did not have a transfer save on PS and wow, I never knew he'd be there like this. I mean...ow...unexpected meltdown... The only thing I wish for if they'd kept his original appearance. Thank Primus his voice does the magic all the time, so I can forget a bit that he visually became some cullen impostor. Thank you for the video, probably I'd never learned about this without it.

I just did a new save where Alistair is my warden and he's romanced with the HoF, as a Circle mage. So, of COURSE, Cullen was super creepy when I asked him about her. I thought "Don't tell Alistair up on the battlements, he'll kick your ass. Wait, on second thought, go right ahead."

Claire Dé Lune Bless Cullen, he wasn’t creepy when I asked just said something about having a juvenile crush on her. It’s definitely adds to his character and I love how it really adds to his dynamic if you romance him as a mage, but I don’t ship CullenxWarden she obviously doesn’t feel the same way (and I don’t consider mods as part of the proper story). Also Alistair will always be my Wardens one true love.

S.A. not possible. Romanced alistair without dark ritual with Morrigan means warden Alistair dies instead of Hero of Ferelden. So no you cant have warden romanced Alistair and dead F!warden

@@countryguitarist2005 you can have a romanced Alistair as a warden in DAI and have the Warden die killing the Archdemon. You have to leave him to defend the gates in Origins and he not be in your party when facing the Archdemon. However there are not any lines regarding about the HoF from Alistair unless she is still alive in DAI. Which sucks. A ton. Like Leliana and Morrigan both talk about a dead HoF why can't Alistair? Still am salty about that. Like let us have the tragedy porn. We signed up for it by putting it in Dragon Age keep. Alistair does talk about his dead lover in DA2 as a warden but the romances from DAO were all bugged so it doesn't always show up.

Three flags must occur. 1. You must have romanced him, obviously. 2. You must not make him king. That is the only way he'll be a Warden. 3. He has to perform the Dark Ritual with Morrigan. That's the only way both can survive the Blight and still be together. If any of these three factors are not there, the scene plays out differently.

There isn't one! Which is tragic! Like he talks about the Warden in DA2 which occurs between 9:32 and 9:34 depending on when the Invasion of Kirkwall happens, but not in Inquisition. I know it has been a long time, but Morrigan and Leliana both talk about a deceased Warden if they were romanced. Morrigan has a kid of course, but like one line was all I needed. I'm sorry I refused to make Alistair, the man who said he wanted the Warden to be his one and only, have sex with Morrigan. I couldn't disrespect him after all the manipulation of Eamon and everyone else trying to put him on the crown regardless of his feelings or his lack of qualifications (plus Warden sterility, minus blood magic God baby ritual). At least have him be eternally faithful like Zevran is canonically! Give me one damn throwaway line, Bioware!

the warden and alistair can both survive if you accept morrigan’s dark ritual! if you are a female warden, alistair must sleep with her because no one else can (unless you let loghain live, but if you’re in a romance with alistair he will eventually break up with you so i don’t recommend it); if he is made king, then he has other scenes (kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5-moIZqqsl0qZI) but it’s not a choice for the fade. if you are a male warden then you can do it yourself with the same outcome, except that if he stays a grey warden anora will exile him no matter what (even if cousland is your king) and you’ll get a different scene (this one exactly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoOyqWhqn8aVj5Y) either case, if you let loghain live alistair won’t show up in inquisition

@@DeviousKitten27 oh i see, i’m sorry :( i play on pc and ps4 so i don’t know how i could help you :( you can still have an happy ending with elven mage and alistair if you harden him during his personal quest and have max. coercion skill! in fact, you can ask to stay in court as the mistress and he will agree ~ by the way, he is not properly happy if you ask him to join the ritual (of course, since he doesn’t like morrigan haha), but he understands that it must be done because it’s the only way for both of you to be alive and thus he won’t break up with you!

Seeing everyone want a warden cameo scares me, because that means they will have to find a mediocre British voice actor to play them. I always thought that voiced protagonist were a terrible idea in rpgs and games with character customisation, it completely destroys player choice and the whole role playing aspect. After the last two games and seeing how fallout 4 went I’m kind of left in the dark about this.
