SO you didn't check the lockedn door and determined he kiled the Knight-Vigilant, usurping his orders to further deceive the Templars? You can't conscript him then, though he either flees or dies if you do that.

After Googling, it appears conscripting him was not an option because I broke into his quarters. As I do that in every playthrough that I side with the templars, I had no idea it was even an option.

Suggestion: shorten the intro to 5 seconds

It would take it from 9% of your overall video being intro to 3%. Given humans short attention spans, that may help with getting more people to watch these fully vs clicking away
