Dragon Age: Inquisition | Where to get good Armor!

So in todays Dragon Age Inquisitions video I show you some of the better merchants in the game. I also give you one alternate way of getting Tier 3 schematics! If you have found more merchants/other ways to get good armor then please feel free to leave them in the comments! Enjoy :)

Tier 2 schematics: Rogue/Mage/Warrior Schematic Perks, Val Royeaux shop, Elven merchant in Exalted Plains Tier 3 schematics: Hissing Wastes Merchant/Tombs of Fairel (the ones found in the various Tombs are the best unique schematics available in the game, apart two schematics from the merchants with the short list perk), Emprise Du Lion (Merchant and chests), some are also to be found in Emerald Graves (also if Emerald Graves is more important for crafting materials). In short, the best tier 2 schematics are available from the inquisition perks classes' schematics and merchant in the Exalted Plains (you need to have some Dalish reputation before the merchant opens), the best Tier 3 schematics are to be found in the various Tombs of Fairel in the Hissing Wastes and the merchant in Hissing Wastes and Suledin's Keep (need the short list perk to get the best items there).

How does the short list perk work? Cause I bought the first set of t3 schematics in hissing wastes I got the perk a little later and the merchant doesn't have anything better.

Alex Lugo Sadly it is random. Not every time you go to the shop the rare items (those with the short list perk) shows. You have to return some times to the merchant. Some times you get no rare items, sometimes you get all of them, sometimes some of them.

Use the farming technique in kzbin.info/www/bejne/mX_Ip4t9p6uFibs by far the best way to get good tier 3 gear. I spent about an hour doing this the other day and I now have most tier 3 schematics for weapons/armour and upgrades as well as making about 100k gold. It's a bit of an exploit but so many of the good tier 3 schematics are pretty much a fluke as to whether or not you will ever see them otherwise. And the gear that drops in this game is absolute trash compared to what you can make.

If you have purchased the Avvar DLC and can travel to the Frostback Basin, go to the Avvar merchant with the crafting stations outside. You’ll find a load of great gear to purchase, but it is mightily expensive. Also, need I say it, but the Black Emporium is always excellent.

The merchant recommended for around lvl 9...in Val Royouex. his schematics cannot be worn by elves. Wasted 3.5gold on a schematic that i cannot even wear because i am an elf.

There is a much faster way to farm tier 3 schematics. In empress du lion there is a dung called Valeska's Watch. In there you may find a locked door which you can open with a rogue and the Inq. perk. There are two chests there next to each other, you can loot both (leave 1 item in) Quicksave(F5) > Quickload(F9) and loot again, rinse and repeat. You can loot two chests every 15 seconds or so that way.

if you got the money, the Black Emporium is pretty good as well tho again, regarding the Schematics of Legend part it is pricey tho if y'all know the duplication glitch for items in skyhold then you should be fine money-wise

If any of you come across this somehow and wonder where to get really good armor. Unlock the Hissing Wastes and complete all the puzzles at the Dwarven ruins around the map. that will give you really high tier schematics en you'll come across a dragon on your way to the last one. Also.. if you have the Short Lists Inquisition Perk unlocked you can get some really good schematics (refined) from the merchant in the canyon of the Hissing wastes. Killing dragons is also a good way but the schematics you'll get through completing the puzzles are better. You can still kill the dragons to use the materials for crafting those armors though ;) Also, if you have anymore questions regarding the game ask away, I might've gathered some knowledge in 600h of play :D

Another place to get a LOT of stuff is The Black Emporium It is expensive. You can also change your appearance as well if you really want to. The change doesn't cost anything & you can change it as often as you want to. The Black Emporium is a freebie download.

Im 100% sure its prowler armor considering Ive never seen any inquisitor mage using that style of armor only rouges. But you can use it as a mage by using snowfleur leather which cancels the class restrictions.

Just before you go to the merchant in the hissing wastes, there is a tomb. Go inside, there will be a ritual to complete and once you do this there is a weapon schematic for a two handed sword, with around 280 damage, get a good rune and you have a 330 damage weapon.

You also get a tier 3 Archon Staff schematic for finishing the Venatori spyring table mission, you can even change the clock easily on PS4 to skip through all the missions, with dragon bone it does 72 fire damage

To all Cpmsole users READ THIS! The glitches have been patched BUT you can de-patch the game (if you have it in disc form idk about digital) by going to the game data folder and deleting the DA:Inq patch folder. Doing so sadly; deletes ALL patches. meaning the Radar patch that allows you to see the loot on the map (The orange dots) also disappear. as well as all game bug fixes. But at least you can (only on a new save; old saves are unloadable until you patch once again) start a mew save. Work up until you kill a dragon and loot all the Tier FOUR (yes 4) metal/cloth/leather from the dragon then use the sell glitch to increase it all to 500 (or more) of each. Allowing you to make the best crafts possible in game! Not to mention the ability to duplicate essence to get the best runes that increase DPS by an entire hundred! After that just patch and poof! you have a save with 1 million gold (just sell some of the dragon bone and only leave 500 with you) the best materials and IF you get the amulet of power; maxed out classes too!

Nice video! I actually found the top tier merchents myself while doing my first playthrough and my mage was a total badass around level 20 and beyond that :) A 230+ armor with nice bonuses and a 170+ dps staff with nice bonuses made my mage a total nuker with storm-inferno-necromancer combo. Awesome!

Nick Bones I think i understand your question. The best schematics (tier 3) are found in the hissing wastes and Emprise du Lion. The schematics you get by spending inquisition points at the war table are only tier 2. If you are looking for the highest tier weapons and armor, putting points on the Mage rogue and warrior 'plans' is a waste.

Nick Bones however if you need good items early to mid game the schmeatics will be god tier mode till you can unlock the tier 3 ones, for example on my rogue i got the rogue schematics and the dual blade recipe i got is doing roughly 4 times as much damage as the previous tier 2 daggers i had. the Schematics are only awaste if you dont think you need them or are looking to spend as much time in game as possible but on my third playthrough i want to go through as fast as possible through the boring bits.

For the "Rumors of Sulevin Blade" area schematic drops, the level 16 cap is false. My level 13 Inquisitor has found tier 3 schematics every single time he rezones into this area. The only requirement/prerequisite I have found is that you have to get past the "In Your Heart Shall Burn" mainline story quest in order to unlock Emprise Du Lion area.

Sulevin's map have been patched i think you can't loot like this anymore. If you get the Inquisition perk of Josephine, something like Exclusive Sales, you may found the top armors in the hissing plains merchant. If not, go back to Skyhold, save, restart the game from the menu, check again. Now if you like DLC's, the Spoils of the Qunari gives you a light armor without class restrictions with attributes for each type of material and works good for a mage or a rogue, and a heavy armor with lot of attributes (my favorite kind of stats improvment ^^) that looks badass. Jaws of Hakkon gives you the best helmets/hats and shields schematics of the game (avvar village merchant) and in the last location of the game you unlock weapon schematics with runes on the walls. I found only the dagger was better than the Fairel weapons Finally, if you're an Elf Mage, the dragons at Emprise du Lion will give you one of the best armor schematics and if you're a Dwarf, the Fairel quest gives you a strong armor.

Idk if you found your answer and ive never played on easy usually only on hard or nightmare but i have played once on regular and if I recall I dont think it really matters considering there are select armors and schematics that are one of the strongest choices for each class with any difficulty. Maybe if you were to change in the middle you would need to maybe see changes of armor ratings on your current armour to armor you can create ?

Does the Golden Nug work with the area with all the chests? Make a save before you enter, loot everything, synch schematics up to the Nug, reload that save, rinse repeat?

Exactly. I just saved right in front of the Hissing Wastes merchent, bought what I could, went to Skyhold, and then Synched my schematics. Then reload my Hissing Wastes save and do it again with different schematics.
