It's a lot clearer if you play the game. It seems Alistair loves the main character so theres that. Also to have a demon inside his child which he'll never see. It's a lot to take in, not just a one night stand with no repercussions.

that's sort of how i felt about the whole ending (after having to reload a bunch of times to get one that didn't totally rip out my heart). but in the end none of them are really "happy" and all required making hard choices :~(

@superspammer69 No, his story starts in the destruction of lothering, possibly before you even get your first faction to agree to fight for the Grey Wardens, so no, it will not be Hawke, and one event Game Informer detailed in Hawke's story would be an encounter with Flemeth, much remains to be seen, the only parts I KNOW are true are stated in one of my game informer magazines, I can't find it right now though.

@OwnageIncBFinch Actualy the warden goes after morgan at the end. As for doing the same as her mother was going to do remains to be seen but I think it will be in another expantion since more content is expected for a wile. Either way will make things interesting.

@rpgnoblelady - The beauty of these types of RPGs is you hold the power to decision your character's course of action. As Moar mentioned, you are not required to pass Alistair to any other woman. Additionally it is a magical ritual and were you versed in magical mythology you would have fore knowledge it is a rarity they allot for a pleasant/happy result. Frequently there is a sacrifice in Dragon Age... this is the sacrifice.

Enlightening explanation. Yes the developers hhave since said that even if the Warden sacrificed himself/herself to kill the Archdemon, in Awakening, they'll basically ignore it and the story will act as if the Warden was not the one who sacrificed himself/herself.

@aaron75fy Its not to save the wardens... Its to get a child with the soul of an old god to possess or "preserve". (she says "somethings are worth preserving" towards the end regarding the child). She's not there for evil or altruistic purposes. Its just a mutual coincidence of wants and convenience.

@Rubytyr It is not subjective, it is relative. Keep the Architeht alive is a good chose because he was helping to make the darkspawn less nocive. Morrigan is a neutral-evil character, to become her friend is good to change her alignment, but chose her proposal is a evil path - it is just like refuse to help a npc only because she is in the party and you dont want to get a Morrigan -5. BTW it isnt a problem if you want to play as evil or neutral character.

@mma0tomars Thats exactly what it is. You can either import and old character or create a new one. Basically its 2 1/2 years after Origins and you and your Mabari from Origins are trying to track down Morrigan, end up finding her in front of a mirror/portal (same as the one from the Dalish origin story) and she tells you that the world is about to change, and to worry more about Flemeth than her. After, you can either let her go through the portal, go through with her, or stab her and kill her.

Dragons Age Origins, awesome game on the PC - a lot of varied stuff you can do depending on the hundreds of choices you make. It's actually on sale on direct2drive - only for mac though lol.

@Loyalty2theEnd : meaning that after he'll speak with goldana you'll need to tell him 'everyone is out for themselves' and then you'll get another dialouge in which 2 u should tell him to be an egoist. that'll 'harden' him : he actually would want to be a king and he can be persuaded to keep those females as lovers which he refuses to marry (elf, dwarf)

@godofblood1 To get the Perfectionist acheivement, you will need to view all four endings. 1. Accept Morrigans offer, saving everyone, 2. Decline her offer and keep Alistair in your final party. If he loves you, he will be sacrificed, 3. Decline her offer and leave Alistair out of your party so you will be sacrificed, 4. Recruit Loghain at the Landsmeet and make him take the final blow.

@LizHathaway01 Oh please, if Morrigan was truly being evil here, she wouldn't have told you a damn thing. She would have either abandoned you to your fate or just banged a male warden (perhaps even tied him down), got her Old God baby, and run for it while you and the armies fight a demonic dragon. Instead, she tells you how you can be saved, explains (to an extent) what she has planned for the kid, and above all, gives you the final decision in the matter and respects said decision.

@TheCem2000 Actually, if you pay attention, Morrigan says that she knew from the beginning what her goal with you really was. Flemeth put her up to it. Flemeth needs a new body soon...what body is better...the one of her powerful daughter...or the body of a Morrigan's child(most likely daughter), who has the power of an Archdemon? It was the perfect opportunity. Even if you "killed" Flemeth...there's no guarantee that you were successful in ridding the world of her forever. ;)

Because in order to kill the archdemon, the grey warden that issues the killing blow will die. It is the reason why they go through the joining, the taint is mixed into their body in order to capture and destroy the soul of the old god.

@BURNINGHAMMER76 if you haven't got that far in the game yet i'll warn you about a spoiler alert but she wants the kid to absorb the archdemons semony powers when it dies so when you deliver the killing blow it dosent kill you but instead lies dormant in the child and so you live and Morrigan and the child are never seen again unless there is a sequel where they both are in it

@Lenapigen22 The problem is that if you don't take Morrigan's offer, either you or Alistair will end up dead, leaving the other partner to mourn the loss. In my own (admittedly male) case, of course I'd be upset if some other guy offered to have sex with my wife. But I'd be much more upset if my wife died or if I died and made my wife cry over me for years. So I would gladly let my wife sleep with another guy if doing so meant neither of us had to die or be hurt by the other's death.

Witch Hunt DLC, you are in Flemeth's hut when two kids came looking for the witch of the forest. You help them and you go find Morrigan and you get them as companions. At the end you get the chance to to kill Morrigan or go with Morrigan into another dimension.

yeah it took like 4 reloads before I could actually ask him to do it. now that the game is done, it was worth it, tho. :-/ Some trade offs needed to be made - I left Flemmeth alive and took her deal to just take the book. So Morrigan might not be so safe after all. Two can play this game, Morrigan. ;)
