I'm a Dub guy so I'm not impacted by the outcome...but I do hope that Toei is preparing some epic things for the 40th anniversary of the manga in 2024. I'd like to see them commit the time and effort to do something spectacular for the entire anime series. A great sort of "Final Edition" home release in Japan and the US featuring new top tier restorations and remastering, sourced from the best material available....I'm rooting for that in a huge way for all of the fans. Heck, even if they did a "Kai 2.0" and edited out the filler and censored some of the nudity I wouldn't complain. To get some kind of "definitive" presentation of the original Dragon Ball and Z/Kai would be great.

I think the DBOX audio is sourcing from optical 16mm film audio. On TV was broadcasted from film with magnetic track or was transfering on videotape with the audio synced on the tape.

The recordings from the boxsets sounds like it was recorded in the 1960s it makes the show seem older then it really is and now I've heard the original broadcasts audio i 100x prefer the more clear OBA versions

The Japanese audio was the first time they aired on Fuji TV when I read it on Wikipedia. Now with the new audio, I think is from the DVDs or Blu-ray. Dragon Ball is history

Although the broadcast is superior I do feel that the other audio does work when he’s speaking into the mic. But that’s a style prefernce

I have a problem with the broadcast audio.. I hear something like interference (several times in each episode).. If you launch for example episode 193 of Dragon Ball Z and listen to Gohan speaking at 6m43 , you will hear the interference I'm talking about... It's not my speakers that are doing this because even with headphones I hear this interference!! It's a shame because it ruins everything! does anyone know what this is? THANKS

Yep, as far as I see it Z’s broadcast audio has been completely preserved online.

He answers Toei Animation's replay of the first part. I don't know why they repeated the events of Z and did not repeat the events of the first part. Frankly, I wish we could see it with a new drawing.

Is there a way to watch the Japanese with English subbed Dragon Ball directly onto Internet Archive rather than just the English Dub? I don't have any room on my devices to store that many gigabytes.. is there another way for me?

@@smugcat723 absolutely. MPV (our recommended player) can switch audio tracks with a mouse click or hotkey of your choice. You can change audio tracks in the middle of a video easily. Plex also allows you to change audio tracks.

when I compare the old audio with the new. the new one is clearer and works louder but there are several episodes like interference (vibration noises) it's annoying!! too bad there is this!

@@ThatRandomFastingGuy I think it's you who should consult an audiologist, because if your ear was as fine as you think, you would then hear the vibrations and the frequency problems that there are throughout each episode with the new sound...
