Compared to the previous two parts and some of DiU it's mostly filler with boring villains and the humor ranges from pretty funny to the 3rd shit joke, the villains in JoJo have never been good besides some exceptions like Dio and the Pillar Men or Kira, most of the non endgame villians are pretty bad with no clear motivations besides "I do this because (Part villain here) told me so and "money" or just "It just be like that sometimes". They can all be described as bullies, ugly, greedy and people who would definitely sexually assault someone. And since 70% of Stardust is fighting filler villains it gets boring quick and the only reason to watch it is for the fact sometimes a character gets development that will happen again later or because they use a technique that they will never use or mention again (Starfinger, and that Silverchariot sword shooty thing). There's few one time antagonist and filler villains who are well written or even just passable and understandable, Speedwagon, Smokey, Stroheim, Straizo and some DiU antagonists like Yuya, Toyohiro and the Nomura brothers and I really liked were Rohan and Yoshihiro and that's off the top of my head, the only villains I understand and liked from part 3 was Oingo and Boingo for the fact they were stand users who had dreams and actual characters Boingo wanting to make great comics and Oingo wanting to support his brother who's even proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone. There's also some choices that just plain annoyed me like why didn't Polnareff mention the sword thing during the fight with Cream to save Iggy even a "I don't have enough energy to use it" would have been fine too, why didn't the magnet lady's knife immediately stab them when nuts and bolts popped off her breasts and it was shown they could pull an entire stack of cans that I'm 80% sure had food in them, I thought the knifes would be stone but nope, real knifes that magnetized to them after they perfected cut the wires. Jotaros a cunt, why couldn't he just tie up Dan, hold him down and or use self defense. There's alot of other nitpicks but I've written enough, the only reason I'd rewatch Stardust Crusaders is for the fight scenes, I did not enjoy most of it and thankfully DiU was exactly what I needed which led to my bias, I haven't watched part 5 yet and honestly I'm scared to considering it's the second most memed part and clearly that's not good sadly.

Geekdom explains it for those watchers not in the know. Ssj4 goku is known as Xeno Goku: he is the goku from the non canon stuff- so the video games and movies, that is one goku. He came about when future trunks had to think of the strongest warrior he knew, and he thought of this composite goku. I guess because this is a video game, this trunks thought of that goku. Either way, Xeno goku went through the GT timeline and not the Super timeline, therefore obtaining SSJ4, and having no idea of Blue or God Ki. There is Xeno versions of all the characters.

Must be the american dub then, GT is very loved in my country(Italy) and I like it as well, aside for a couple of episodes in the first arc where I literally fell asleep, and one character that always pisses me off(Pan lol). Some of the character designs are very cool(Baby Vegeta, SSJ4, Gogeta, the dragons, I legitimately LOVE Vegeta's attire and Videl is way cuter than in Super) and it has some beautiful pieces of music.

+ Jeremy Knight Speaking a little bit out of my a$$ here, but from what I understand, Japanese fanbases are more on the appreciative side than the critical one, as opposed to here in the west. I'm not sure if it's a part of their "be happy and try not to complain too much" culture, or if the Japanese really do just cling to this kind of stuff with more child-like amusement than the rest of us, but the point here is that stuff like GT gets less of a bad rap on their side of the board. It legitimately wouldn't surprise me if they liked Evolution over their too, even if Toriyama didn't, but I digress. On the western front, acute criticism - and let's face it, rampant cynicism - is the way of the web, so you'll find more people willing to break something down, broadcast its flaws, and play it up, rather than just sit down and enjoy it. A prime example of this is this video, in fact. Mark went through this brainless clog of a series acting like he was suffering from a slowly worsening brain aneurism, but then ended it with "it's not even canon to anything, and as a one-off novelty its serviceable." In the interest of fairness, I will also mention that KaiserNeko has said in videos past that he despises GT "like any other person - so long as that hatred could destroy several galaxies," but it was more about execution. He liked Baby in concept and TFS all loved the idea of the Shadow Dragons, but none of it was completely fleshed out in a satisfying way. A lot of it is just a mixed bag at best, and it's frankly easier to complain, in my humble opinion.

I don't excatly agree with Mark on this one Especially since he can't explain Heroes well. This Goku (SSJ4) isn't from the Moblie game...it's from Heroes obviously since this is dragon heroes anime. He also didn't seem to know much about Fu. He also didn't know what the chains for the Prison Planet was for, if you use common sense you'd get that the chains are what keeping them on the planet. In episode 1 of Super Dragon Ball heroes you can see Goku try and escape but only to get his head knocked against the sky. To me it just sounds like this is coming from someone who doesn't get Heroes and just a fan who doesn't excatly get the material, not try to say that Mark doesn't know his stuff cause he does. Just probably no Heroes. Do I think this Anime is good? It think it's ok for an promotional anime and for fan service but I feel as if he still kinda downplayed the anime just a bit especially episode 3 IMO

Well, before DBS came out, there was no real official story or sequel. We had DBO which was created by Toriyama. He created the characters of Towa, Mira, Fu as well as the Time Patrol. This was way before DBS was even an idea. Then, Toyotaro tried to take that and tie it to an arcade game, which created Victory Mission, but it had no coherent story. It wasn't until DBO got converted Xenoverse and Yoshitaka Nagayama created the SDBH manga that explained how it all ties in. So for me, I look at Dragon Ball as an expanded verse with multiple timelines and stories. I don't care about canon. There is the main timeline which we watch on TV and is the DB/DBZ manga, but the movies, games, DBO, XV, GT, and SDBH, can all co-exist in other timelines without contradicting the main timeline. If you don't believe me, just read the theory here on kanzenshuu: www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=42105 The Prison Arc is especially interesting because it's the first time we've seen characters from the main timeline meet their Xeno counterparts. Cumber is an ancient Saiyan that has recognized the red hair of SSG Goku which may imply that he fought Yamoshi in the past. There's so many cool things that people ignore these days that are connected. If people stop caring about canon, they'd enjoy the stories and the entire world of DB much more.

@@maleficking6556 That "might" put in there has a lot to do with consistent storytelling and writing. I like fanfictions as much as the next weeb in denial, but they have their place. The fact that Heroes came out right after Super ended had me questioning the motives of the people in charge of this franchise. Super itself had a bunch of inconsistencies and a lack of that DB flair. Now we have this. Heroes being an anime isn't really the issue as much as the intentions not being in the right place are. The effects of which can ruin production. Super *didn't* require extra funding at all, yet it had buggy drawing throughout the show. Super came off as rushed, yet they had the *clout* and the *reputation* to possibly air twice a month without penalty. Super had subpar writing and horrid powerscaling, yet they could have hired better. I believe the issue was that the 2.5(?) BILLION the franchise grosses annually wasn't put to proper use. Mismanagement. How does it not have MHA or AOT level animation quality animation at this point? OPM was basically unknown, yet it had it. The TOP had it, but the writing suffered in its place. It all seems like the production team was ran ragged with little help from the corporation that also owns the franchise. (Toei, w/ its bad track record to boot) Its not just Toriyama and Toyotaro over there...

@@maleficking6556 Enjoying a good, stable plot and story is a part of the enjoyment. Too much eye candy will ruin the experience and replay value (assuming that's their goal). I'm not a child with a short attention span. I pay attention to stuff, usually closely. Even if they pander to my desire for (insert) to become a character in the show, it has to *at least* be organic.
