Zombiewithabowtie There were a lot of moments in season 3 that they handled excellently. Kami’s final moments, Tien’s stand against Cell, Krillen’s moment of clarity, sixteen’s speech, and Goku’s sacrifice, in particular. They also added entirely new serious moments, like ChiChi’s explanation for WHY she takes such an extreme approach to parenting, and the video from Gero’s son.

kami has one of the better character arcs as does majunior and people just have no idea cause they slurp vegeta so much and never seen the entire show...i prefer his relationship to gohan goku and kami to vegeta's with blooma goku and trunks and i prefer his story being a nice contrast to goku's but similar then vegeta's which is just a worse version of his basically and doing the evil saiyan turned good thing...smdh...its fine but it gets so played out by the boo saga

Totally Not Mark put it best, but the addition of Nail and Kami in Piccolo’s mind is such an amazing addition to the story. You get great character interactions where you originally didn’t have any, without having to physically add the characters onscreen. Also that Kami speech just shows how much these guys love and understand this franchise. Love it.

Oh I just realized something kind of sweet. The reason Trunks keeps saying "Crap baskets" is because Gohan is his mentor and he says it himself all the time. That is the type of attention to detail that is hard to find in shows. Very cool.

This was around the time where piccolo was the strongest fighter before the hyperbolic time chamber training. Also imperfect abridged cell is the funniest version in my opinion just because of all the sexual jokes.

There's allot of sex jokes with perfect cell too they're just a little more suddle until he meets Goku anyways

7:42 fun fact: PurpleEyesWTF cameos as the news reporter in this episode. most likely, you may have heard of him from the video "I'm At Soup" which has been shared numerous times throughout social media, & this platform as well. PurpleEyesWTF is another abridger. however, while TFS's series are more grounded in the original story with their own changes and additions, PurpleEyes does whatever he wants with his series. and i do mean, WHATEVER. if TFS is the Chaotic Good of abridging, PurpleEyes is litterally just the Chaos of it all. and it's fucking amazing. TFS DBZA 10th anniversary Commentary quotes: 2:05 - 2:22 "By the way, that, may be, in my top 5 voices i have ever done. just playing that guy, was so much stupid fun." ~Kaiserneko Kaiser: won't lie to you, writing for Gohan in this episode, was one of the best experiances we've had writing Gohan, i wish we really wrote him more like this. People say they just benefit from over a decade of hindsight when it comes to the little details they include or change. And they do. But it's one thing to have that hindsight and another to actually execute properly using it. And considering they have moments of excellent callbacks and continuity that even the showrunners behind the main series don't manage to handle or include, I'd say they knock execution out of the park and deserve that praise. They are fans who love DB entirely. They aren't just putting forth a product to poke fun or get themselves over. They are putting their best foot forward in the best way they can with a world they love to both have fun with it, honor it, and present something new with it.
