I love the trickster. I keep swapping back every time after playing other vocations. People sleep on this vocation, but its so incredibly strong.

Same! Every time I work on tanking up other vocations, I always find ways in Trickster makes things easier. However, I do enjoy Archer being ability to snipe enemies from miles off. But when it comes to being a defender, I love how it’s the unorthodox Trickster that rocks at it!

Trickster is actually really fun and insanely unique. It has the strongest CC options of any vocation. Also don't sleep on the Illusary walls, tricking enemy AI to constantly go back and Forth between wall cover can trick any enemy. I've even confused and locked dragons out of doing much of anything with it

I'm playing Trickster for my first playthrough as I was a bit dissapointed with Sorcerer not having the 'dark' spells from DD1 (typically that's the class I would play - with a Sorcerer main pawn for spell-syncing Petrification and Exequy lol). I love the Trickster vocation but it's gameplay gets old pretty quickly. I think only having 4 weapon skills is really hurting my enjoyment of DD2 - I have 3 xbox profiles so I have a Mystic Spearhand on my other account and it's the same there (gets boring/repetitive really fast). We just need the full 8 slots for every vocation and the game would be 100x more fulfilling. Anyway here's what I would do to improve the Trickster and make gameplay more varied: - Allow the censer to be boon'ed by mage pawns, causing the Trickster's core skills to do elemental damage (weapon skills remain unaffected). So the basic attack (X) and the smoke ball attack (X+Hold) would do small amounts of elemental damage. But the boon is mainly to enhance the effigy for more powerful effects. - A fire boon'ed effigy will erupt into smoke when dismissed or destroyed, causing enemies in proximity to believe they are on fire (even though they are not). The boon is then removed from the censer. - A lightning imbued effigy will erupt into smoke when dismissed or destroyed, causing enemies in proximity to become over-stimulated and attack eachother. The boon will then be removed from the censer. - A frost imbued effigy will erupt into smoke when dismissed or destroyed and cause enemies in close proximity to suffer slowed movement. The boon will then be removed from the censer. - Finally, I would also give the Trickster a weapon skill for Miasma / High Miasma (called Miasmic Incense or something). It would be the Tricksters only damage dealing ability outside of a boon'ed basic attack with the censer -- and I think that poison fits the Trickster perfectly.

Folks would still find it boring because once you place the DoT, that’s it. But something it really needs: the Enthralled enemy needs to act as if it’s on your team. And Binding Effigy should be a core skill that lets you charge Enthralling Aroma for further range.

I mained trickster through a few points during my journey heres some things I learned 1. Skills actually matter higher your magic stat the higher your simulacrums HP the higher your strength the higher the aggro gained by your simulacrum 2. Dragons Delusion can knock enemies out of casting including drakes if stagger is high enough 3. Keep moving, you can even hold R1 and have your simulacrum on your back if you need to move him remember it gains a health regen on your back to 4. Run with either Thief Thief Mage or Sorcerer Sorcerer Mage if you can find good spell partners 5. Move your simulacrum during an animation commitment by your opponent if a drake goes for firebreath they're locked in place which means you can move your simulacrum while they fire breath at nothing 6. Plan in Advance, where as many classes are reactive trickster is very Proactive plan out encounters quickly and always have your simulacrum avalible I tend to hold R1 while i walk round and am not using it that way it's one move to immediatly gain control, you can always move the simulacrum once control is established

Trickster really should of been put in misty marshes or someone in the first area because the vocation is very weak late game yet it's in the late game area. Trickster seems to make you focus more on what Pawn vocation set ups work well together for damage as the trickster itself does none.
