I just thought of this: Dende developed a crush on Gohan by the end of the Namek/Freeza saga. Later, Dende is talked into creating a new set of Dragon Balls for Earth, and taking over the role of Kami (i.e. Earth's God) in the process. Gohan will later marry Videl. In other words: "God's" romantic rival will be the daughter of Satan. Also, if you rearrange the letters of "Videl", you get "Devil".
