As far as Piccolo's regeneration ability, I always assumed he could regenerate anything as long as he could maintain consciousness. If any of his vital organs are destroyed, he's pretty much dead. However Cell also has Freeza's DNA, and Freeza appears to be able to survive as long as any part of him is left intact. So with the combination of Piccolo and Freeza's cells, in order to defeat Cell for good, you have to destroy him at a CELLular level.

They watched the dub. Basically they turned Goku into Superman when they took him to the west. To piggyback on the success of comics in the states and give audiences a sense of familiarity. It's easy to see why they think that because not everyone watches the sub. In fact most US fans don't because of the nostalgia and voices.

Not exactly. Instant transmission is projecting your "innerself" somewhere and then teleporting to that direction. You can literally go anywhere. However, blindly aiming for things has its issues: 1. it takes more time to focus your energy, as you are projecting a location based on your own location 2. it might be in the middle of nowhere, or the center of a star, both being pretty deadly options. Using Ki sensing allows you to focus more easily as you teleport because you're projecting a location based on the ki you're sensing. Considering the Ki you're sensing is pretty much gonna be living somewhere you can be alive aswell(dragonball standards, we've only met 5 people total who can be alive somewhere where goku cannot), meaning its by far the most safe option for instant transmission too. So while you could go to an empty planet, while you could go anywhere, it's practically suicide unless you fully know where you're aiming for.

@@Predated2 No. Instant Transmission, needs to lock into a KI, there has been no instances of IT being used without locking into a Ki and neither was any dialog mentioning the fact that you could maybe do it without locking into a KI. You could use Kai Kai, that technique can teleport you anywhere without the need of a Ki in the destination, but Goku doesn't know Kai Kai so far.

I think the reason Cell can regenerate from so much damage is that he doesn't die from attacks like that (probably due to Freeza's cells as he survived getting sliced into pieces) but Piccolo would.

Andrew Parkinson it's because each one of his cells has the abilities of every fighter. Piccolo can regenerate, but only from a non fatal blow. Cell can regenerate from only a single cell, because that one cell still has regeneration. That's how I understand it anyway.

Nerdy George Washingto Cell explains that a small cluster of cells that are in his head that allow him to regenerate. As long as that cluster is not destroyed he can regenerate from anything, even if microscopic are the only remains. Piccolo says he can regenerate as long as his head is intact. Which thankfully was the case when Trunks tipped over Piccolo when he was a stone statue and shattered. Even when stoned Piccolo will survive.

My personal theory: through Dragon Ball, Goku made two realizations: 1: fights are awesome. Before the series, he essentially lived alone in the woods, but since then, he has been thrust in a world of martial arts tournaments, military hell bent on world domination and evil overlords, and he came to realize that a good fight was what he enjoyed most in life. 2: good fights are rare. As Dragon Ball progresses, Goku grows more and more powerful. More importantly, he realizes most people don't progress at the same rate he does. He started already stronger than 95% of the planet, and since then, the gap keeps widening. Tenshinan went from virtual equal to clear underdog in the space of four years. Taopaipai, the first man to almost kill him, is now a complete joke. And remember that time when Yamcha beat Goku? Yeah, things changed since then. There's Jackie Choun, but who knows where that mysterious stranger went! So by the end of Dragon Ball, Goku is facing the dreadful prospect of being the strongest man on earth with no-one to challenge him. Ever. But hey, that new version of Piccolo sure is strong! Way stronger than his dad! Maybe if he was given time, he'd be able to keep up with Goku? Worth a shot. And, funny thing is, this turns out to be one of the best decision Goku ever made. Hey, sparring enemies work! Let's try it again with Vegeta! Well, this works too! Somehow! More or less! Hence Goku taking questionable habits.

Instant transmission let's Son Goku teleport near any aura he can sense. He is shown to transport to new Namek and to the Planet of the Kaioshins, when he sensed Son Gohan, despite the vast distances. His range is limited by the question of whether there is someone strong and familiar enought for him to sense at a given distance. Spoiler: That's also why he transported to Kaios planet, when Cell wanted to blow the earth up with himself. Because it was the only planet he could transport to, that both had an aura he knew and could sense from far away and at the same time didn't have Millions of people on it that would be killed by it. He couldn't have transported Cell to a liveless world, even something close like let's say Mars.

I just don’t understand how Buu learned Instant Transmission just by looking at it. I also have the same problem with Cell learning Instant Transmission after he self destructed. And Goku and Buu doing a Kamehameha on their first attempt just by watching it used once.

@@theomnigamer9177 that’s the whole point, saiyans in general are geniuses at manipulating energy, and are very good at imitating techniques. While others have to struggle to learn a technique and improve it, Vegeta just has to see Krillin’s destructo disk and put two and two together, before manipulating his own energy and replicating it. Cell has their genetic makeup, which essentially makes him a mixture of saiyan geniuses plus a 120 million unit non trained prodigy. Plus their techniques are second nature to him so learning another one is probably just a piece of cake.

Quick comment about the bit about how the Lookout stays where it does. Its not a cable that attaches Korrin's place to the Lookout. MobUrameshi I'm 26 minutes into the video, so you could very well be referring to something else that Eric mentions later. However, in the beginning of the video Eric says he really likes the Team Bruce Faulconer score, but he's also grown to love the Japanese scores that TFS uses. So he didn't mix them up, but just wanted to mention how much he's grown to like the Japanese scores. Were you referring to that or something else? :)

My guess is that Frieza's cells, since Frieza can still keep going without most of his body, that that is how Cell was still alive even with his top half destroyed. Or, in the original show, it was revealed that each cell in his body have a brain...maybe that was it?

Piccolo can do that as long as his head is in tact. In the buu saga when he was turned to stone by dabura, someone touched him and he fell to pieces, but showed up later saying he can regenerate if his head is in tact

Goku's Instant Transmission allows him to move instantly to any power he can sense. It doesn't allow him to move instantly to any place that he wants.

The lign of Roshi "I watched her poop" is Semi-canon. In reality, he was too distracted with what he was going to see, that he missed his opportunity. Early in the Red Ribbon Saga, Roshi trades his submarine to Bulma for her freshly invented shrinking device. When Bulma then asks to use the toilet, he immediately used it to sneak into the bathroom. He saw her in underwear, ready to sit down, fantasizes, and when he looks again to really peep...she already stood back up and redressed herself. He panics, slips, falls into the toilet and gets flushed away

On point as always, guys =D One quick note tho, goku's instant transmission is limited by the range of his ki sensing ability. He needs to lock onto somebody's ki to be able to go where he wants. If somebody is far enough away that he cant sense their ki, he cant go there. So no, he cant go to an empty planet. ^^

snap vanishing is different from instant transmission. almost everyone can snap vanish in fights. goku can instant transmission long distances as long as he can sense energy there.
