The game has become so overly complicated, that pretty much only existing players can enjoy it.

I completely agree. I came back and leveled a new character from scratch in order to play dragonflight. When I hit max level, I had no idea what was going on. Everyone and every quest was telling me to go somewhere else and then once I got there, I got distracted by some other quest rinse and repeat. After days and weeks I am so lost in this game. I have no idea what’s going on and to make matters worse, try reading your map as a newer player or even a returning veteran like myself. It’s an absolute disaster. I have quest showing up that when I arrive there’s nothing to do or it’s an instance, or a quest to only could be found by killing some boss in a different phase. I wasted an hour the other day, trying to figure out how to get into vault. I even joined a random group in friend finder, and when they showed up, they were completely in a different phase and I was lost. Worse off I tried messaging them and not one of them returned my message because apparently they couldn’t even see it while they were in a different phase, what a disaster this game is. Extremely overly complex and you have no idea what you’re doing half the time unless you’re spending half of your time reading guides or watching KZbin videos. I just wanna play a fun game, light and fluffy kill some stuff relax and enjoy my time outside work. I agree with this video. This game is becoming more work than it’s worth. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m back in my job stressed out trying to put together spreadsheets and reading guides and documentation. I’m here to enjoy your game, to relax and not get stressed out. All this game does so far it’s make me feel like I’m back at work doing a 9-to-5 job.

Regarding crafting, I really enjoy classic crafting compared to the dragonflight crafting. Finding reagents while you play, and they are all grounded in logical physical objects like Wool or Heavy Leather. I'm sure they're basically at the point of "magical item power creeping" but to me something like "Lustrous Scaled Hide" and "Hardened Magnificent Hide" with blue and purple rarity isn't as immersive or satisfying as a simple "Heavy Leather" or "Light Hide" etc. I dunno. I entirely agree with you, even just opening the crafting menu gives me a headache.

Crafting has a serious issue: As far as I know, there is no way to reset crafting skill points. I can understand that it would be easy to abuse the system if one could, but, no reset option is like falling back to the Diablo 2 days.

As a new player who reached max lvl, I definitely agree on the gear upgrading point... I've read guides, and I still have 0 idea what the hell I'm supposed to do. There's gear I got from world quests and dungeons that's upgradeable, but apparently I shouldn't upgrade it at all because it's pointless? There's raid gear, heroic dungeons have different gear, I'm assuming it's the same thing with mythic stuff. It's honestly way too complicated and complex, for 0 reason at all.

Issue is that people know horrific upgrading systems from horrific games, in particular pay to win games. Henceforth, they are afraid to do something wrong. But, you cannot do something terribly wrong with the current system. The system is complicated for world first raiders that have to optimise their progression. For anyone else, including us, it is as @richardditty5318 wrote: Just do it! Eventually, you can fully upgrade all the gear that you want to wear anyway.

When it comes to how many abilities and effects you have to memorize, I agree trying to memorize them all is damn near impossible. Something that I do is, because I’ve played wow for years, I separate the abilities I have into categories (like this is generator, this one’s an interrupt, this is a defensive cooldown, etc.) and each one is different but mostly the same. Knowing the basics of what an ability is is key, learning all the littler interactions it has afterwards will come overtime. But I do agree that there is too many of these interactions that exist with the abilities. The best way I can explain wow is this. It is a hard game to learn, but if you learn it, it is very rewarding. I would love wow to be simpler, and the currency system is extremely intense.

The new upgrade system which you covered in this video is what pushed me out of the game. If you're someone like me who ONLY played M+ as a source of gear, and were part of a pre-made group who could easily play above their ilvl, you were getting into keystones and looting really high ilvl gear but that caused you to skip the lower upgrade tracks from this new system. Which meant if you wanted to upgrade the ilvl on your new +15 and up gear, you had to go all the way back down and slum it in the sub 10s and then the sub 15s to get the currency required for what part of the 8/8 upgrade track you're on. It was exhausting and extremely unpleasant. For those of us who ONLY want to login and do a keystone or two per week, it made it incredibly casual unfriendly.

Me too. You play to have fun. Endless studying, daily chores, ability bloat overcomplicated professions and rotations is not fun. Another big thing was what they did to mages. My main for all the years I played was always a mage. Dragonflight made frost the only playable spec. The highest damage rotation forced you to stand in one spot and spam abilities that look EXACTLY like the mob's abilities....so naturally the tank and melee players moved away from that retina-burning mess you were making with swirly balls and blizzards......which absolutely killed your dps. Cancelled my subscription. I'm done.

All of this is true for players that are casual and/or not 'good at' or have the time for calculations and the like. I gave up on crafting, just like I did in ffxiv for the same reason. The same goes for upgrading gear. I would ha e u derstood nothing if I didnt have a partner to remind me and show me how they work. Also for players like me it all becomes extremely intimidating, particlarly when you factor in the attitudes of a lot of the players who are doing the higher tier content, keeping track of badges etc. They can be mean and gate-keepy and it totally kills your desire to even try to learn. There is also the factor (and this has been true of all xpacs) that players who can't or who dont want the stress are locked out of end game story content. Besides vanilla, BC and Wrath, because i can solo them now, I've never actually done the raids where key events take place, because I dont have the gear, the talent or the stress management, and there's no way to bridge that or for players like me to even experience the major story points outside of watching youtube videos, which I have to say is not conducive to keeping a big portion of your player base either. Since Wrath, I've started almost every xpac and then quit in like 2 weeks to 2 months because I get to a poi t where is nothing to do but endless grinding and I lose interest because I know I will be able to do/have the courage to do end game content, and I think thats sad. And here ends the rant of a player that knows she's bad, but loves the game (especially DF).

Longtime player returning after three years off and I totally agree with you. It’s getting out of hand. So much study time required to understand the intricacies of how to create a decent rotation. And there is just too much now. I really loved MoP. The farming, the fishing etc. I feel like they got it just right there. I’m also loving DF. However I can’t stand the ridiculousness of the crafting. “Keep it simple stupid,” as they say. I’m also planning to just focus more on farming mats and leaving the actual crafting as once the next xpac drops it will be useless anyway.

I actually agree with pretty much every point you are making here. I have been feeling less and less inclined to play in Dragonflight and it is because I accepted in BFA that I only want to be a casual player, but after making it through BFA, Shadowlands and now Dragonflight, I find that even the few small things I found enjoyment in doing, are not worth doing because I am too lazy to go research how to do them. Crafting being a key example. I messed up my points at the beginning because I assumed that there would be a reset we could do, since it was so complex. Well with no way to reset, I have just given up on crafting as my work already was wasted, so I am not going to waste anymore time on it. I also play a pally and what you said about Dusk to Dawn is so accurate its not even funny. I hate that skill with a passion because its just yet another thing to manage when I'm trying to watch out for mechanics in the cluster that is wow raid combat. I am at a point where I don't want to log in most of the time because I don't find myself having fun, or the things I do enjoy are stuck behind gatekeeping mechanics, or are invalidated by time gated mechanics. The new upgrade system is so dumb that I cant believe that they even wasted development time on it. I feel like any player could point out all the flaws within 5 min of hearing about it, but instead we get a terrible system and have to live with it for multiple patches until Blizz finally makes it what it should have been, before throwing it out with the next expansion. I have played this game since launch and honestly, I am just tired of the pattern of the development cycle with wow. Blizz seems to feel that complicated is how to retain subs, but its not and the sub numbers show that. I stupidly went ahead and did the 1 year pre pay sub because I was high on that dragonflight hype, but I think I am just going to step away from the game (like have have the past few expansions) and come back in the final patch when they finally have everything working as it should have been from the start.

Good video, very coherent points and I'll be sure to stay tuned for the rest. But you sure as hell didn't play in Shadowlands, m'boy (good on you, actually, you were smarter than all of us combined). Gearing was essentially pulling teeth, I gave up before season 2 and was regularly clearing Heroic Nathria and m+ while getting jack and shit back then. With the gearing tracks in Season 2 we finally have a decent catch up mechanic by making the gear you have be worth something even if it's not your BIS. And if you get your BIS at a lower level, you can still buff it up if you want to farm for a higher tiered one. It has made gear go from an excruciating chore to a mild inconvenience at most.

The game is primarily this way for two reasons. The first is combat addons, the developers have been in an arms race with the combat addon developers. The wow developers will develop a mechanic, the addon developers will then make it irrelevant and then the wow developers will have to pile on more mechanics to compensate to keep the fights challenging for longer. The second is high end raiders and PVPer's. They are very good at the game and have a lot of influence, so the wow developers tend to listen to them and craft the game around their skill level.

When I saw that I need like 3 different materials to upgrade armor, having none of one or two of those materials 50+ hours into DF quickly threw me out of the "well this is fun, I should have gave WoW a go earlier afterall" state. What's even more annoying is that there are all this gear drops from dungeons and raids and I can't use 90% of them, either because the level is just stupid low or because it's not for my class. For example I've done Aberrus in Raid Finder, killed Sakareth once, all the other bosses twice. I got a pair of level 402 gloves that I can use, but Sarkareth dropped the Silent Star cape, which I managed to roll 100 on, others in the Raid were not happy, but, it was like 30 levels higher than what I had. I've done so many Dragonflight dungeons, but pretty much all the loot I got were predominantly worse than what I already had.

you bring up a GREAT point about the professions. And it mostly resonates about the "watch a 30 minute video in order to do it". Thats what is it. Wow has become so inherently complicated that the first answer to EVERYTHING is to watch a 30-hour long video on any give subject. Compare this to back in vanilla-wrath and u could just read a 5-10 minute guide. Or not even need a guide at ALL. Basically everything in modern wow requires outside help, and this is ten times more horrendous due to the fact that its now crept outside of just boss mechanics and professions. You now need addons for EVERYTHING. Rotation help, boss mechanics, professions, ect. Its gotten so bad that blizzard is actually designing bosses to try to beat addon makers, Which only enforces the casual player to need to download an addon and set it up. Which brings another horrible aspect. Imagine the casual player being forced to figure out Weak Auras.......... holy. shit. lol. Blizz over complicating things and addons trying to simplify the complication, then blizz trying to beat those addons has caused a HORRIBLE cycle that is ruining this game lol

The problem is that wow is now designed by and for people who enjoy convoluted systems and find them inspirational. They are the ones who are made to feel clever that they managed to make the system work for them with the help of lots of outside websites, and it makes them feel even more clever that new player ie lesser mortals are giving up.

You are 100% correct, and I've been complaining about this to Blizzard since they started to make all these abilities super complex, they're just ruining the game with them. The professions are so ridiculous that I even have a hard time understanding them, and I've been playing since 2004. They just don't get it, they keep "fixing" things that don't need it, and breaking them instead. Same with upgrades.

Class rotations being too complex is so true. I think having more buttons to press doesn’t make the game better…having less buttons that feel better to press is the way to go. I’m not even playing Dragonflight, I’m playing on a Cata private server and my Warlock has a spell called “Hand of Gul’dan” which calls a meteor from the sky which then creates a shadowy zone on the ground. Awesome, right? WRONG. First off I find it absurd that this GIANT METEOR is a single-target spell…like how in the world does it deal zero splash damage? It refreshes my Immolate so I figured the idea was I could Immolate multiple mobs and then refresh my Immolate on all those mobs with this giant meteor. Nope. Just one. It does about as much damage as a Shadowbolt which is my bread and butter “spam” spell so it doesn’t at all feel like a nuke, and the shadowy zone it creates is hilariously small. Like if the tank moves the mob at all then they’re out of that zone…and what does the stupid zone do? +10% crit to my demon’s attacks. Whoop-de-freaking do. I suspect this shitty buff is a weak attempt to justify Hand of Gul’dan being in the Demonolgy tree when it feels a lot more like a Destruction spell. Anyways…the game acts like that little zone is super important even going so far as having a special UI element that I’ve never even fucking seen before on any other class pop up under my unit frame to notify me of its remaining duration. What? It’s not even directly helping ME just my pet, and like I said 90% of the time the tank just moves the mob right out of the zone so it does nothing! This zone seriously beeds to be like 3x the size just to be remotely useful. Point is an ability that should feel awesome feels like trash to the point that I often forget to even include it in my rotation. Feels like someone at Blizzard just cooked it up to pad the number of buttons in the rotation without actually adding much substance. Garbage spell that I wish just didn’t exist at all.

A very bad idea to rely on Gold to upgrade anything and everything willy nilly. Especially in an MMO where you could actually purchase gold to sell, or use. If it were that easy, then everyone would exploit it. And then it becomes this quasi-P2W system. Not quite P2W, but it is in that same realm of absurdity. Cosmestic and Mounts are just that, cosmetics and mounts. It bore no effect on the actual gameplay. So, Blizz can charge all they want for these cosmetics and mounts or pets. But when it comes to actually doing something that adversely affect the gameplay; then, we have a problem. My friend wants to start playing WoW but he said he didn't want to start from scratch. I told him that starting from scratch is the only way to learn. He wants to boost knowing that he is able to to do so. I told him it is a bad idea. After some back and forth. He decided against playing WoW. I told him that he can boost if he wants to but he'll be in a land of total confusion from the get go. And thus, is counterintuitive to his cause and purpose of wanting to play WoW in the first place. He'll start waving the white flag before the first shot has been fired.

I think these systems are fairly straightforward. You can figure them out after messing about a bit. Wasting resources at the low end doesn't feel punishing since those resources are irrelevant towards the higher end. The crafting and upgrade systems are the best iterations so far for progression-focused players. I understand that they may feel difficult to approach for new players, and I'm sure there are improvements that could be made. However, this is not a new problem and I would argue that the S2 upgrade system is much more digestable than previous gear progression systems. This system mandates that you get better gear from harder content. You may use crests to upgrade your gear. How do I get better crests and better gear? Harder content. I think it works as an evergreen system and is there to benefit players at all levels of play. The biggest problem I see with crafting is that there is no catchup in knowledge acquisition. Players who have worked their professions since DF launch are miles ahead of players who only started in S2 (like me). The gap is only getting wider and new crafters won't be able to provide even a fraction of the services that seasoned crafters can.

I agree with most of the points here but im also here to offer a counter point... i believe your overwhelmed, regarding the complexity of the abilities, the more you play the easier it is to understand, in regards to the crafting system, its rather simple the more you look at it, its just a simple talent allocation, you want to be able to make better chestpieces? put points into the chest crafting, etc, its really just something you have to look at and not thrust yourself into, and in regards to the upgrade system, while i agree about the flightstones being annoying to get/having nothing to do with gear later on, thats exactly what its for, the end game raiding/pvp/mythic plus gear, for those players who want a higher ilvl but dont wanna grind the same item of a higher ilvl etc etc, the more i hear you talk about the game the more i hear the frustration in your tone and it makes me think NOTHING except for the fact your frustrated BECAUSE your trying to absorb all of this after taking so long of a break, its simpler for someone to join into an expansion and take all of the systems at face value because they're already familiar with the game, your trying to re-familiarize yourself with the game AND experiencing new mechanics, systems, and the overly broken economy that nobody likes in conclusion, my advice? take your time with it brother, you dont need to stress yourself out trying to keep track of something that you WILL get the hang of after a few months of playing the game, and while i agree it as a whole is a large overcomplification, you just need to play the game to learn it, not spend time wracking your brain TRYING to figure it out, but learning it naturally as its needed through your normal gameplay loop.

also another point id like to make is, an argument against me could possible be; "oh well i dont want to spend months to learn how to have fun i want to pick up the game and have fun", my response to that is... its an MMO, theyre complex, they can be difficult, and they require a huge time investment, but the time investment is a work towards the payout, nothing is more fun than playing with friends in wow, my advice in that regard is stop trying to push yourself to be the best, take a step back and engage in more casual content, visit your occasional RP server and make a few friends, THEN engage with that content with them, games are meant to be played together hope you have a good time and a safe journey in azeroth and... take it easy man, the game isnt goin anywhere, enjoy it

The only major problem with the crafting system is the lack of clarity on how you gain skill points for each recipe. You can figure that out by reading several tooltips but it is clunky. And comparing Minecraft with this suggesting that every bit of crafting is intuitive is a load of BS. The amount of items you can craft fills an entire library and most of them are far from "intuitive". Only the basic shit like starting tools.

Further criticism: You name Protection Paladin and Guardian Druid as examples for complexity. And that's it. Guardian is overdue for a rework. And half of what you list for protection paladin are simple effects tied to basic regular spells. The criticism here is that it is just superfluous if it is applied regardless and probably doesn't need to get tracked anyway. Also: The "Bossfight you show" has 2 World Bosses with 4 abilities that almost mirror each other. On the other hand you come across like a classic Andy for which Patchwerk might be near the pinnacle of encounter design.

yep everyone is daily raid... and daily quest (daily quest are 5-10 min solo snooze fest while you wait for the LFG to ding teleport to raid do it in 15 min or less, teleport back finnish daily quest log out). back in vanila player had to run around the world to get mats for consumable for raids... today no consumable, no class. just you and your gear lvl that's all. as because we went from (3 out of 9 classes could tank and 3 out of 9 classes could heal (two only in one specific spec that sort of made them useless when not healing). now as I understand it healer does as much DPS as a DPS, and tank does more damage as a DPS. and Debuffer/buffer class is completely gone (never really existed back in vanial but a thing wow should had grabbed from othre MMO of that time). now every class in any spec can do any role (whit the oblivious 2 specs/classes been meta). and I know returning player complained about them getting teleported around so much, Dungeons, raids, quest and so on.

3:08 - and then when you get into a raid they're like: Watch a video on how to do this, but the video does NOTHING to help make anything clear. And it's not like you can just avoid stuff like this at this point. I am at a point with my gear score that the ONLY way I can progress in my gearing is by doing Mythic +. The issue with this is that I don't have a guild, I try to join up with mythic groups and half of them won't let me join because my gear score is too low (421) and the other half won't let me join because I don't have the achievement. They need a viable system for people to gear up to max without having to do Mythics. I don't really care for it in the first place, the fact that I simply can't at this point just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. And don't even get me started on how many currencies there are. Just for Dragonflight we have: Dragon Isles Supplies Elemental Overflow Flightstones Paracausal Flakes Storm Sigils Dreamsurge Coalescence 6 types of shadowflame crests the shards that make up the shadowflame crests Unearthed Fragrant coins Barter Bricks Untapped forbidden Knowledge Neltharian Gift tokens Essenses of the Storm And I very well may be forgetting some. This coupled with the fact that there are hundreds of different other currencies from earlier expansions in the game, the currencies tab is a mess. An easy way to fix this would be to do what they did with the previous expansion's PVP equipment: they gave them all 1, older currency to replace honor points. Picture just doing a purge on them and then doing some exchange rate so your older currencies (based off difficulty) convert to Vintage tokens or whatever they want to call them. Hell they could even have a way to convert them for Timewalking badges. Just do something. It's hella excessive at this point.

I've noticed a trend lately where people complain about how complicated WoW is. I disagree. Have people already forgotten all the crap systems that Blizzard forced down our throats during BFA and Shadowlands (the worst offender)? Dragonflight is almost as barebones as WotLK. There's no anima, mandatory renown, extra talent trees, companions, mission tables, Torghast, sanctum upgrades, artifact power. There isn't a single mandatory thing that you have to do in order to be good at the game in DF. One might argue that the need for addons is a pain, but they've been around since Vanilla, why are people complaining about them just now? Another aspect people seem to forget (weirdly) is that WoW is an RPG at it's core. Comparing it to Tetris, Just Dance or Minecraft is flawed and objectively pointless. RPGs are meant to make you weigh decisions, compare stats between different items, try different class builds, practice rotations and most importantly to have a deep knowledge about the class that you are playing. Combat is hard? Aberrus is the single most easy to understand and to telegraph raid in WoW's history and showing a 10 second clip of you doing a world boss that has two abilities really doesn't prove your point. Also, every classes must have a decently high skill ceiling in order to keep people playing. The game would be incredibly boring if everyone would be able to play their class perfectly after spending 5 minutes on a rotation guide. The crafting system is as useful as it's ever been, and considering that crafting has been dead for the past 10 years, failing to see the improvement that we have now means that you are probably detached to the problems this game had in the past. Turning WoW into a game with 2-3 abilities like Valorant, Overwatch or Diablo would be the death of the game and if this is the direction in which you want this game to go, then please stop making videos and find something else to play because you have no idea what you're talking about.

That's why so many are playing right? 😂 ...main story is locked behind renown ...add-ons in vanilla were questie and a damage meter...maybe one for healing ...compared to now? Crafting is overly complicated for no reason, I'd rather just not have crafting and many others feel the exact same way. They didn't need to make so many different elements and add them into it. It's not that the fights are hard, they're annoying. You can't stand still for two seconds without some swirlie appearing under you that you aren't even sure if it's ok or not ok to stand in. Having mechanics is fine and I'd rather have them than none, but they kind of go overboard with it. Rotations are a mile long, which is also fine for me...but for a new player? Nope. That's why dragonflight isn't keeping new players around. It's overwhelming. It's a game, it should be intuitive enough to figure out without having to look at any guides. Nobody wants to do homework or work period when playing a game besides try hards. "I've noticed a trend"....hey genius, did you ever think it was a trend for a reason? Just because YOU disagree, doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's talking about or shouldn't make videos...I mean, who THE FUCK are you???? Lmao foh 🤡 ...his gripes are legit and is how a majority of people feel about it. That's why nobody is playing this shit besides the loyal wow heads who play anything Blizz puts out. Not to mention the unbearable new player experience that has needed a revamp for those ten years where crafting didn't exist ...stop insulting people who don't share your opinion, it's quite childish and makes you look like a fucking moron, you fucking moron.

If none of WoW's difficulty levels (LFR / Normal / Heroic / Mythic) for raids or dungeons (Normal / Heroic / Mythic / Mythic +) suit you or are too difficult for you then please find another game to play because if you are incapable of adapting even to LFR or to learn in which order to press 5-6 buttons then YOU are the problem, and not the game.

@@victk7 lol, it's literally locked behind renown in order to continue parts of the campaign....like right now I have to get to renown 19 for valdrakken accord to continue the story. I'm at 17 and am pretty much tired of doing pointless fetch quests to get it. Nobody is crying about wanting to be powerful with little to no effort. I play classic as well and have two sixty's with raid tier gear. I have no issues grinding and putting in effort. It's when the complexity starts to feel like a job you have to study, decreasing the fun factor you have doing those things. Matter of fact, I like the complexity but I think the game should be intuitive enough that you can grasp it without the need for add-ons or guides. That's the issue I have with some of the systems. I shouldn't need an addon to tell me how to play the game or when to dodge, or what attack is coming. I don't even use those add-ons because it's like using training wheels and then saying I'm the best bike rider. Another issue is how bloated the game is, how so much is just handed to you making anything you gain not as meaningful. Just feels like a waste of time man. Anybody with a brain can dodge mechanics and learn their rotations, but are you having fun while doing it? A large portion is not, especially newcomers. It just needs dialed down some. I can't remember everything you said and it's late, I'm going to sleep. I'll be back in the morning to address other points you made. But the story is one hundred percent locked behind renown, maybe not the initial main quest line, but once you hit a certain point, it is. I have two different storylines right now telling me I need to be a certain renown to continue. Seems like a cheap way to keep people paying money when they don't have to do that. Raids and mythics alone will do that, let people enjoy the story without endless grinds. Maybe I'm outgrowing the genre, mindless fetch quests, or snail races, or slaying moths just doesn't keep my interest. At all. The story does, and raids and dungeons do. And occasionally collecting mogs and mounts...so why lock that behind rep grinds? I know the answer. Overall DF is decent besides a few things like I've mentioned, but those few things are legit complaints even if you disagree. Some people have adulting to do and learning a fantasy game to have fun falls pretty low on the priority list. Complexity is fine, but there's a such thing as being over designed. I take it back, you aren't a moron.

On the complexity of rotations front, I think Blizzard missed an opportunity to have the best of both worlds with the new talent system. I wish there were more options to make builds with simpler rotations and more passive or chance on hit effects. They wouldn't even have to be on par with the complex ones, but just good enough to not drag down a group. There's a reason the 2 specs that are known for their simple rotation are also the most popularly played ones. Just let people play simple talent choices that are 80-90% as effective and then gradually go up in complexity from there if they want to push a bit higher.

You don't have to know everything right away. One of the best things with new MMOs and games in general that can you invest a lot of time with is to learn new things. I'm having a blast with the crafting system and the combat with all it's buffs in the talent tree and the gear and the reactive mechanics. After 5k hours in FFXIV with its very static, predictable and simple structure, it feels so nice that the difficulty I'm trying to overcome is to learn and plan out the complex and individually unique combat, instead of having a simple system that people can understand by just looking at it for the first time, because then you'll end up with a spreadsheet where you're trying to plan out how many smite casts you can do in a fight and how many centimeters you can cut off from your movement in the next pull because everyone and their grandma is already doing their rotation to perfection. I want a game to allow me to fail, allow me to be lost, allow me to be shit. Let me explore, it's why I play MMOs

I used to mythic raid in legion and the gearing was easy and rewarding… now it’s just feels like a boring side job that by the time you’ve finished your bis list the next patch is out resetting your progress… legion style legos, artifacts and titanforging was imo the best way.. rewarding, exciting and blurred the lines on gear score. Opening up the game to casuals and creating huge amounts of replay-ability. Maybe I’m just a lazy , loot gambling addict but in a seasonal game like wows become I don’t think I’ll ever have the motivation to slog through a boring gear grind mindlessly repeating the same dungeons to get enough currencies to upgrade my vault gear… when I imagined doing that it was in black and white 😂 zzz

The only part here I agree with is the classes getting a little button bloated over time. Comparing the complexity to spice was a good laugh also. The profession rework has been great in my mind. I have enchanting and tailoring and I never once felt that I NEEDED to watch a video to know what to do. Sure I put a few points into something silly the first week, but I'm not playing to min/max professions and those that are are probably the ones making/watching the how to vids. I also really like the upgrade system. You make it so the gear you are getting can be upgraded to the bottom of the next tier of gear. Part of the reason they made the whole system was to prevent people from farming lower end content fast to get the piece they want then upgrade it to the max in game ilvl. Flightstones I understand why they exist but are not necessary you are right that it should have just been gold. All in all I like the changes they've been willing to make in this expansion and hopefully the address the combat button bloat for most specs in the next expansion by working on the talent trees. They need some sort of new player scenario to better teach new players mechanics and abilities I feel.

I have to heavily disagree, I thought the new gear system is really good and simple. Flightstones are cool, as it gives rewards for the content you like and have fun with as it a reward from basically everything. Each crest tells you were to get them in the description in a straightforward way. I managed to understand it without looking at a guide personally. My only thing is that I wish they included a Infograph of all the different types of gear and it’s corresponding ilvl in the game itself as it would have saved a lot of people from needlessly spending all the flightstones.

Nobody will ever do a game for "casual" players since the casual players often leave the game alone for months especially in wow they come in for 1-2 months then they off it for half a year. Why would you make a game for them when you have a massive competitve oriented player base who will play the game through the whole expansion more likely? This guy didn't talk about anybody who does end content since the hardest thing he did i guess was killing a world boss and thats not really content. The most casual player i know is at least doing some dungeons or normal raid or something but i didn't see a single dungeon form this guy so not really a valid point of view what he is giving us here.

Communities complaining about a game like WoW being "too hard" is going to actually ruin the game. Difficulty is a pretty subjective topic, but I think we should be giving praise to the depth and complexity that this game offers. Arguments like, "Theres too many particles effects" or "theres too much going on" seem pretty shallow to me, especially when the argument is made for newer players but the background gameplay clip is of an endgame raid. It saddens me to hear these creators and people who have played the game for years and years of their lives say that they dislike the very thing that draws me into the game. Difficulty, depth, complexity, probably most importantly opportunity. The opportunity to play and to learn and to grow and to see all the shit thats going on on my screen and say, "this cluster fuck is dope." If one person dies in the raid, I want the whole party to wipe. I want to feel achieved when getting the endgame gear only AFTER struggling. Its part of the experience, its what makes the game fun. And sure, fun is subjective too, but I truly believe that when criticizing very large core fundamentals of a game, especially as big as WoW, your motives and intention for criticism should be very carefully analyzed before being delivered. ESPECIALLY if you're expecting change.

I can see what your point as a new player/returning wow does a terrible job at intruducing you to the mechanics and to the abilities thats why I am against the lvl boosts ppl who dont know the class can just do m+ and raids making the whole experience terrible for everyone. WoW needs a new early game I say this all the time, make levling a form to intruce the player to the class hes playing and to the events that took place in the world make it a 2 to 3 hour experience where players can join raids with bots and dungeons to get to know the systems of the game (this will kill lvl boost bcs it would be a very fast experience so blizzard might be agains ti. Blizzard is making wow one of the worst games for new players to try I put my friends playing it and they have all quited in less then 3 months, the subscription its a barrier to enter I think untill you catch to the most recent expansion the game should be free to make players get hooked to it "oh but now players can farm mounts and stuff without subbing well at least the world might feel alive I play in a "full server" if I m not in ogrimmar or at current content I see 0 players. and lets be honest no one is playing wow retail just to lvl and farm so just change that make ppl fall in love with wow bcs they will the game is awsome it has a terrible new game experience but its awsome if you can stay you are bound to love the game and this statment oh the game gets good at lvl 50 its non sense the game needs to be good since day one. Your point about the abilities I like the current system its what makes fun to play 2 or 3 classes its amazing to try new stuff due to all classes having a lot to learn and it gives depth and you can clearly see if the player is good or not bcs of the abilities in the game are the only thing thats up to the player himself its what button to press, the rest like talents, gear, enchantments, stats you have to see that on the internet or you will get kicked of the parties so the only things you can decide for yourself are transmog mounts and whitch button to press so if wow was easy to master in my opinion it would be boring professions I agree I dont rly care all I ve done this past expansions its get m+ gear so I can do heroic raid get heroic raid gear so I can try mythic so to me professions should just be an extra minigame for casuals so they should be fun, entertaining and just relaxing flying around grabbing materials its relaxing but blizzard overcomplecated it and they still are not usefull so just make them fun extra activities to relax and enjoy currencies have always been just homework it sucks I ve always hated them but I mean they are not intuitive as they should but I m used to the bs in conclusion I agree wow is overcompicated but in all honesty its easy to fix but its a very resourse heavy thing to but do if I was in charge I would like I said remake the whole levling no one cares about it and you cannot make it fun ppl just want to get out of there so remake it a two hour tutorial that let players raid, explain them mechanics about the game and about the classes and basic systems then let them loose in the new expansion since now they will have the knowladge needed to play with others, that way wow could grab more players wow its amazing, its a charming game and it has so many strong points but its not worth the subscription if your levling bcs it feels so fucking disconected from the game it self its stupid. remake professions into simpler tasks and easy to do make some more casual friendly like that are focused in enhancing the casual player experience put some cosmetics behind the new easy going relaxing professions like real cooking or smt like that give casuals what to do if you ask wow players are probably in one of this categories I dropped the game bcs all it had to do was m+ and raid or the I love the pvp, m+ and raid. last point is blizzard should not add stuff that in a year time its going to be useless they made me grind so much fuck azerite power and artifact power, anima what for? nothing its useless now, focus get a good currency made that playes can use or convert into new ones its the worst thing for me in wow its feeling like blizzard is gatekeeping and wasitng my time by making me grind madatory stuff like there is no better things to do. To add to the list of Dragonflight issues: The new UI is a half-assed mess and they seem to iterate only a teeny-tiny bit every single patch. - When the combined bag is enabled, when you go to the bank and open all bank bags, some of them will appear off-screen and will be impossible to work with until the big bag is moved (e.g. via BlizzMove) - The mount passenger UI is FIXED behind the Objective Tracker unless it is moved off the right of the screen where the passenger UI is fixed to - Some settings don't have the overall UX of the game's UI - The characters in the character selection screen can no longer be moved by holding and dragging - Scrolling through different UI elements with multiple pages results in different behavior on scroll up/down There are definitely more issues I can't list at the top of my head, but boy, did they fuck up the game.
