Dragons Can Fly || Short Film

I learned to dreamwalk for the sole reason of wanting to fly. I haven't perfected it, but here's some tips: Firstly, don't think too hard, loosen up. Relax so that you feel light airy. Secondly, start practicing by either riding a dragon/griffin/etc or flapping your arms like a bird (as dumb as it sounds), its the idea that you're flying that works. Once you get used to that feeling then, in theory, you should be able to replicate it by a lose thought. I know this makes me sound like a lifeless geek but eh.

This is really beautiful! Really love the eye blinking effects and first person view! Also really like the shot looking back at the dragon hindquarters and tail and how you animated the dragon reflection in the floor. Great work, I hope your class is going well :D

I’ve had this dream so many times, most when I was young . I was either a human that could fly or a bird but after a while it became difficult and I could no longer fly no matter how hard I tried, I’d wake up frustrated and then go about my day feeling like I was missing something. When I was 10 how to train your dragon came out, I always dreamt I was a dragon, I’d fly with the others, it would be beautiful but even then I’d stop being able to fly before I woke up. The worse part was I’ve always been a lucid dreamer, even when I have nightmares I can have control after awhile and make it better or yell at myself to wake up, but no matter what I did in those dreams I couldn’t finish flying even when I could control everything else, I always got left behind under the clouds . Two years ago was the last dream I had where I couldn’t fly. It was the night before I flew on a plane back home, I dreamed very similar to this one that I crashed into the ocean, that same ride there was something very wrong with the plane, people were saying it was turbulence but we all knew it didn’t feel like turbulence. Our plane was forced to land in the ocean and everyone came out fine other than a few bruises and cuts. Ever since then I’ve been able to fly freely until I wake up

I have dreams a lot like this as well. However the dragon form is much, much larger. I have a hard time flying- not because of my size, as I am fully capable- but it's just hard to fixate myself onto the act. I find that if I focus too hard on flying, I begin to sink back down- especially the higher I get. I've wanted nothing more than to at least reach the clouds. It upsets me greatly that I never seem to be able to.

Beautiful idea! Need to work on the merging of irl and animation though; some shading on the floor and such can help. I’m aware it’s tricky, but it’s possible; AliKat’s work is a good example of doing this. The idea and animation is fantastic though, I adore it. The eye blinking was done very well!

I had a dream similar to this. Basically, there was this weird object that would turn people into dragons, and I was turned into one. However, I always had trouble flying, especially since throughout most of the dream, I was trying to fly downstairs. Breathing fire was also hard, at least I think it was.
