Trapped In The Web owner, Dave Murphy is pitching his virtual escape rooms to The Dragons. He's seeking a £30,000 investment for a 5% stake in his new business venture. However, The Dragons weren't fully convinced that the business will generate repeat custom.
Season 18, Episode 6.

The deal was signed, he said on his website: "Sara has been a huge asset to Trapped In The Web since filming Dragon's Den back in September and you can see how much the business has grown from our new look site and improved rooms! We've also really grown our group booking offering for small to large groups and corporate team building."

Seems easily replicable - like people can just make websites with basic static photos just like this off the fly. Even children have been making them. Good for lockdown but not good for people who want to connect IRL.

this does feel like a "lock down" thing, but there maybe a long term in this. However I dont know if he is the guy to take advantage. If a big name Escape Room operator teams with a VR company, they could launch something very interesting, and leave this "point and click" model, in the dust.

I feel like if there was a VR version, he'd be more up to the task of doing it himself than an Escape Room Operator since VR would harm the brick and mortar stores more than this. That said, I think VR has been really overhyped at the moment. The headsets are very expensive and their use is so narrow. I've seen lots of VR businesses pop up and then go down in flames. Facebook poured an ungodly amount of money into VR and hasn't seen any real return yet. It's an expensive technology that only really seems to work for a small number of people. I think a good ol' fashioned video game would be easier than VR.

@@TheDirtysouthfan I 100% agree that VR is still some ways off, but its still worth keeping an eye on. VR is not the threat to the physical escape room, for one simple reason, people will go to one to hang out with their mates. However VR offers global play, it means 5 people from anywhere in the world, could keep play the same escape room, together. Finally the Escape Room operates need to stay one step ahead of the competition. Dont let someone else own the VR space you SHOULD be owning.

Yes of course. There are 18 seasons and over 200 episodes. They upload a few here and there, new and old ones. Many people have not see all episodes .....so to some its same ole, but others of us who just found this...its good.

Last season for Touker? Seems like he's having a rough go of it this season, with Dragon's defecating all over him and entrepreneurs snubbing his offers.
