Im no marketing expert and i don't know general pricing of natural shampoo products. However, going with a big brand name like dove, for that much money i could probably get 3 to 4 times as much shampoo or soap. Now again, that's just general, run of the mill shampoo but that might why she thought it was a high price.
@Infernalapathy4 жыл бұрын
Honestly, the branding looks cheap and they're pretty small bottles. I think a lot of people here are being critical of her in a weird way. She delivered her pitch really well, her products had lovely naming, she stood up to all kinds of questioning extremely well, answered respectfully, really listened to the feedback she got, while still defending her business in a nice way. Yes she was clearly nervous, and it felt like she really had to fight to stay tough, but she handled herself well, and there's nothing wrong with having emotions over what you fight for. It is nerve-wrecking to stand in front of someone who can potentially help you on your way to achieving a dream, and trying to convince them to bet on you. Being nervous and showing your feelings on the matter to me only adds credibility that you really care about it. Especially when you still keep an open enough mind to take in feedback and don't just go super defensive with your emotions. She had strength to compose herself, knew her business and could answer anything they threw at her, and she had the passion for it. I liked her a lot. And yes you can take the mick out of her for saying she's independent after just having said how she's being supported by her family, but we all knew what she meant was that she has a drive for self-sustainability. That said I do think that there's a weird cultural obsession with the idea of independence. Being able to be independent is good, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with having people you can depend on.

@msstarlight47704 жыл бұрын
@@theway4020 I'm sure you're not sad, ☺ but it's not a joke, there really isn't a lift/elevator there, just the doors on each side, the production crew control shutting the doors once the entrepreneur walks into the 'lift,' then the dragons open the doors on the other side when they're ready for the entrepreneur.

I know I'm in the minority but I say good on her! She went in there on her own, faced them with no help from anyone and despite clearly being terrified she didn't give up and got a deal! So what if she's had support? She utilized it and turned it into a success through her own efforts and determination! She should be proud of herself in my opinion lol.
@unwelcomemotivation4 жыл бұрын
she should be proud of herself, but how is she going around defining herself as an independent woman, when she's over 30, and is literally dependent on other people? ps, her business is now -130k in the hole, and has lost money every single year.

My mom had a home business many, many years ago and did well in her hometown where people knew her personally. In order to grow, she had to get her product "out there" and known. Even in the days when a brand new mid-size car sold for under $6,000, she set aside $100,000 for marketing and getting the product to be recognized and... gone. A hundred grand in advertisement in California back in the late 70s was not enough to break out of her hometown and become a statewide product, let alone national or international. It didn't matter that people across the border in Mexico loved her product (we lived on the border of San Diego and Mexico), that did not mean she could sell her product in Mexico for the same price she sold in the town... she would have to have taken a loss, because the Peso was very much worthless and most average people in Mexico could not afford it - only those from Mexico who shopped inside the US could afford it. If she thinks she could sell the bath bubbles in China for the same cost as in the UK, she's got another thing coming. ... then thinking £60,000 is going to blow open the international market for product marketing? What marketing/advertisement firm did she work for?
