I grew up in the 80s watching this show. It's still great to watch. What I think was unique was how each typical country men or women were portrayed, all so relatable. The characters, their dressing, their mannerisms, all so real. I bet the actors were really from those countries, or close enough. The good old 80s

at first, I have liked giovanni and ali the most. But as I kept re-watching this show over 10, maybe 15 times already I realize that at some point I get bored of giovanni and ali's jokes, but I appreciate juan, max and jamilla's jokes more and more. All these characters, however, cater to specific types of people and at the same time to various moods and degrees of intelligence. Therefore, when you grow up or your view on the society changes your opinions on what's funny changes as well, hence why I am switching back and forth between the various characters, all of them unique and funny in their own way. I mean, I have started appreciating even Ms. Courtney as years went by, whereas in the beginning I couldn't stand her insufferable face.

The most honest and hilarious show that will ever have been produced. Genius producers, directors, and actors. A throwback. Good ' ol days, and miss em. Watched this growing up in Leeds, West Yorkshire, in the 70's, and clam for those happy days; we had the coal man coming round, the milkman on his cart with bread and eggs, and our teachers who'd give us a right telling off if we were wrong, approved by our parents. In 0:20 and 0:23 I really loved the attention they gave to Ali being a Muslim and how much his religion means to him, if you look closely to his table you will see a Carpet not just any Carpet it's Zarbia of the Sallat which translates to Carpet of Prayers alongside a Compass which indicate the direction of where to pray which is north by the way. The fact that the writers paid this much attention to how his religion is of great importance to him makes me very proud to watch this show😍✊️.
