I fitted one of these last week, piece of cake apart from the washer being stuck/deformed in the fitting on another pipe run. Thanks for posting O.G, Triple O.G!!!!

Awesome, just carried out this method to budge my stuck drain off valve, PTFE around the thread to seal it up in a panic is a great tip
@privatepirate74448 жыл бұрын
Alternatively if your washer is jammed inside. Put your hose on, using short screw driver like an electrical make a hole into your hose and up inside the drain off, loosen the drain off and wiggle the screw driver to free the washer/jumper. No chance of getting soaking wet. As the screw driver seals to hose. Sorted!!! 16years in the game.

Good that. Got one on the water meter front of house using as a take off for hose to wash the car. Water pressure wasn't good enough so crossing fingers after a strip down.

You forgot to mention type B DOCs. Never fit the feckers. They always leak out the end when draining down. Never, never, never fit type Bs. Always fit type A drain offs like the one in the vid. They have the o ring seal on the shaft that stops those beastly drips. Great vid. Many thanks. HOLD TIGHT!!!

How would you de solder it if you need a complete new one. Or would you just cut a bit of pipe further back and re solder a new pice of pipe and then solder the drain off to the new piece
@plumberparts8 жыл бұрын
Drain down, remove gubbins, sweat off the fitting and clean out the female. Insert new one and do in reverse like you would a normal solder.

My solution: fit a compression isolator with a blanking nut for safety. Use a 1/2" hozelock adaptor to connect and turn the valve to drain. Looks cack, but works.

99% of drain valves are blocked in social housing lol, I just go to the nearest rad to the door and turn both lockshield & trv off (hopefully not passing) then stick a hose directly onto valve unless it's 1/4" tail then it's back to drawing board.. oh how we struggle on...
