I disagree with Ken there. Hip hop has historically been very anti artists deviating from what made them notable. This might be common knowledge but I’ll say it anyways. Hold On, We’re Going Home was originally for the group Majid Jordan and around the time they signed to OVO that song released. So maybe it was some sort or mutually beneficial exchange. That’s why since then Drake hasn’t had a song that’s sounded anywhere near that more experimental R&B sound. Ironically Drake featured on Majid Jordan’s most recent album and that song is pretty good. Maybe Drake should make a collab album with them idk🤷🏿‍♂️

22:52 to answer Rod's question, in my opinion, I believe that's the "nevermind" part of the album. Drake wanted to experiment with something completely different to the Drake that we know and I'm pretty sure he had to know that a lot of people would not like this. So "honestly, nevermind" is literally him reverting back into the sound he knows people will like, hence Jimmy Cooks. It's a left field take but I'm out here 🙃

I feel like the "I can put it on in the background and not mind it" is the weirdest praise or defense to give to an album or movie. I get there are some music genres to be enjoyed in the background like lo-fi instrumentals. But if an artist clearly doesn't make an album or whatever to be listened in the background, then I feel like it's a weird defense to say that

I like the album, the main thing the album suffers from is traditional hooks so the songs could follow a smooth flow honestly but he tried something different with his song structure but overall it’s still good to me, He tried a bunch of different vocal pitch effects, some hit, some miss, liability is a great song but that vocal pitch was weird and that’s what’s wrong with some of the songs, but it gave the songs a dark tone or a happy tone

Myke was 100% right about the vocals. Drake doesn't need this much autotune, his natural singing voice is already good. Look at songs like jungle, just hold on, Marvin's room, etc. Great songs with great natural singing performances by Drake, unlike this album

I’m glad others see this. I think there were some records on here where he sounded good (mostly in his lower-mid range but stylistically he sounds better on old school samples r&b shit with some of that nighttime Toronto atmosphere and he def sounds better without autotune

The guys keep saying Myke wanted Drake to do an R&B record when in reality he wanted a R&B record that was GOOD. The problem with this album is that Drake's singing is terrible. No range, super repetitive and the falsetto was flatter than a sheet of paper.

One thing I gotta give Ken is he’s consistent. Bro has been faithfully praying on Drake’s downfall for years 😭 He does NOT like that man or his music. He’s wrong tho, Drake ain’t slipping or falling outta the spotlight any time soon. The loud minority on Twitter hated on this album when it dropped but as the days pass I see more and more people liking this.
