Joe praised Drake more than he critiqued him. It was a fair criticism to question when/if his music will mature. I’m not talking about rapping about investments and marriage but what he’s doing now is stale and dull. Of course he’ll go number 1 with this latest album, but his music quality has dropped

What y'all are missing is the fact that along with the criticism...Joe did give the album props. He was simply stating...although in parts the delivery was hmm, lol... that he liked the album but was definitely let down. He wanted more from Drake and that's it. It's like if you don't like some of these artists music they condemn you to hell. Sometimes the sensitive just can't deal with criticism....

Joe is a lyricist, main reason Drake said he was one of his influencers. When Drake started coming at him getting personal, you know Joes opinion matters to him. Notice Drake didn’t come at Pusha T with the same energy, and he brought up his son and baby mother. Joe is literally a fan of Drake, he holds him to a standard above your “regular artist “, and 99 percent of the time Joe is giving him props. One thing we all have to understand is it’s promo time. Drake and Joe literally follow each other, let’s keep that in mind

Drake went extremely personal off of a 2 minute clip when Joe Budden praised the make the entire rest of the hour of the album review - not to mention Budden has praised Drake for YEARS now. Drake took this critique extremely personal and I'm struggling to understand why. Budden, as well as a lot of Drake fans including myself, expected Drake to come on this album and remind us why he's HIM. You want to cater to the youth? Fine. But do it the DRAKE way. He should be the one dictating the sound of Hip-Hop, not letting everyone else - and that was the issue. He's solidified himself to where he doesn't have to worry about numbers - he could put out a song called Pu$$y and it'll hit #1 on the charts.

Stephen A.....no need for comparisons with Joe and Drake. It's pretty simple with Drake. His album is not good..... and he has regressed as an artist. Joe Budden is a great figure to say it and also a great figure to speak critical of the album. Drake is in a weird position because he has grown older and his music is still very popular which is good. But his music has regressed. Most of the time in those situations you just stop checking for his music but the machine is pushing him to the masses still. If you were a fan of J Cole in 2015 you likely are a fan in 2023 as his music has aged as he has aged. Drake's music has changed and it doesn't sound that good....but because it's Drake the album breaks these records and becomes #1. Main thing is his music just sucks now.

SAS you’re equating Joe’s point about age to money Joe’s making a statement that Drake’s compromising the quality of his music to hit a targeted audience. That’s his problem he doesn’t care about Drake being rich and making Taylor Swift levels of money. He wants Drake to make Taylor Swift quality of music. And to Joe’s point he thinks Drakes music quality is compromise due to the people he’s surrounding himself with and trying to appease.

I think it's a different situation than what Stephen A is saying, because arguably there wouldn't be this same Drake if Joe Budden never existed, like it's easy for these new cats to shit on the older generation because they never had to fight the same battles and that's why I always think it's disingenuous for them to stunt, flex or dismiss some of the things the OG's say. Yes, Joe's delivery isn't the best but everything he said apart from the blasting 25 year olds was completely valid.

The Hollyweird Industry, is all inside "The Matrix". We can't make this up. I don't worship any of these celebrities. Actors, Singers, Rappers, Athletes. Etc. However, I do research what goes on in Hollyweird. I still believe Drake was the mole inside the XXX Tentacions 2018 murder. And, from what I learned, Drake is an undercover member of "Mob Ties," from my perspective. He's been involved with "Mob Ties" for quite some time. You don't have to be hard or tough, to be in a mob. Btw, it's easier to bond with one, when you are a famous celebrity. As you're aware, Drake also was involved in the 2021 Astroworld Tragedy that killed a dozen people. However, I am not quite sure if he was officially involved, but, he was present alongside Travis, when the show started. Im just speaking direct facts. Not opinions. Hopefully, y'all wake up and realize that all of these celebrities are industry puppets chosen for one sole purpose. To keep the viewers cursed. They won't stop, until, one or the other of them is sacrificed. If it happens to them, it could happen to you. Where there is danger, beware. Where there is evil, be warned. Don't let them fool you. It'll be a downward spiral of your imagination. The Matrix Has You.

SAS stick to sports… this is about hip-hop and clearly not your lane. JB did nothing different than what you do after a game. I’m sure many players felt a way after your “analysis”. JB’s critique was his opinion and honestly not really wrong. I believe what brought on Drake’s reaction was Joe Budden’s comments about Drake’s personal life. No one is perfect all of the time. It's water downed! Joe is still a great rapper! He's just not conforming to the gatekeepers! I still jam to pump it up!! Joe had one of the best first albums! He's from Jersey! Like Redman, Latifah, Lauryn Hill! Brick City has rappers of high standards! Nobody holding their tongue on a review! There's plenty of music selling that's trash! I just saw 50 Cent and LL tour!! It was worth every dime! Took my daughter, she said your generation can't mess with mine!! She said, "Ma, your era has better music, lyrics, and content!" That came from a youngster! Joey is not only correct, he is also a way better lyricist than Drake hands down. The targeted demograpgic in hip-hop is not only younger folks but younger women. Women are the main consumers in most markets including music. Very few women listen to real lyricists the way men do. Women mainly listen to beats and melodies. They aren't listening to slaughterhouse or D12. They listen to Drake and Travis Scott and whoever else these young niggas are I can't name cuz I don't listen to. But bottom line if you're targeting a demographic you know doesn't care about deep wordplay and intricate rhyme schemes this is what you will lack. The very skills that make a great lyricist. Regardless of his success on paper(no pun intended) Drake is not that.
