Nice setup! Do you have the tall metal storage bolted down or is it just sitting there?
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
All of the cabinets, table and tool box are bolted to the floor and wall

Would love to see an entry level set up for someone it’s just doing it part time like a stack pack That you could grab and go and have everything you needed thanks again like always
@dean7416Ай бұрын
@@whalen530 the Milwaukee Pack Out system works really well. The three size three box stack with the crate on the top for pads. Also, husky makes a nice supply bag that can hold a lot of different bottles of products. A couple contractor bags for your machines and some work platforms/scaffolding and you’re good to go. I use the new Gorilla 4 adjustable height work platforms. They work awesome and are very heavy duty. Allows me to reach the top sides of bigger boats on jacks or trailers when they’re out of the water.

Hey man! This is a video on a smaller scale back when it was just myself a few years back. Hope this 😎

You should look into the greenworks pressure washer. I ran mine for 6 or 8 years til it locked up back in the spring and I got my new one.

Have you ever looked into or used Yotstiks? Carbon fiber….they are SOOOO much lighter than Shurhold poles and brushes. Expensive, but since you use the stuff day in and day out you may enjoy the lighter weight.
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
Yes sir! I actually have one but I don’t really use it that much for some reason. We just like the shurholds 🤘

while working on the hull for a boat on a trailer how do you cover up the part in contact with the trailer and the bottom/underneath?
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
If it’s on a trailer and it’s not lifted off, the customer just has to accept the fact that we cannot reach those areas. However, if the customer specifically request those areas to be done, they would have to take the boat to Marina and have a lift lifted off of the trailer and put up on blocks and Jack Stands so we can do the job fully.

Hey Drake, what crm do you currently use and is it possible to schedule a call with you for like a half hour?

Would love to see an in-depth video showing how you use the 21mm DA. Personally I find it nearly impossible to keep a DA spinning in any area besides flat hulls. I also find that the longer the stroke, the more difficult it is to get the tight spots. So I’m surprised you prefer it over the m8sv2. It would be super helpful to see how you remove the deep holograms from the heavy cut with just a DA (where you don’t use the yellow wool with chop top on the rotary)
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
Hey bro! I don’t really use a random throw polisher anymore for that reason. I have a real forced rotation polisher, then a DA for applying a polymer sealant.

Should the prices (/ft) be disclosed to clients, or are they just for us to get streamlined when giving out the quotations for boats and only the final price (total) should be given?
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
I personally no longer disclose or breakdown an actual per foot price on a quote. I figure my own cost in labor and materials per foot that I need to figure in for my quote, they just see the estimate down by sections of the boat- For example, X amount for cockpit, amount for Hall, X amount for hull sides etc
@JesusChimneyАй бұрын
How often do you replace your wool pads?
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
Around every other boat. The wool pile breaks down after a while and it doesn’t cut as well.
@Andrew_mas0nАй бұрын
Kinda a stupid question but if a wool pad has paint transfer on it can you use it on others colors
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
Yes technically, you could also lightly wash it with water that will help

Where u drawing power from
@DrakesDetailingАй бұрын
I typically use the power at the marinas or the boat owners dock / home.
