The question is.... Should he have paid DKP??? Does he owe the guild for this?
@derelten3 жыл бұрын
Author did the same part as every other member of that raid to generate the lock-out. Therefore no they did owe shit to the guild. P.S.: DKP sucks.
@snootycapybara36833 жыл бұрын
If he did not have an open invitation to everyone else, and was doing this in the shadows, I could agree that it's a dick move. But he let everyone know he was doing it, and even would let the classes who couldn't pull it off come in and STAND THERE and hoover up loot. He kept it on the up and up, so I vote not guilty. If Savage would have ran with him and got himself a ring, this would have been a non issue =/
@TheIllegalGuy3 жыл бұрын
Glad he didn't pay DKP and stood his ground, sure he has a point the man has access thanks to the guild but if I write an award winning novel in a rented apartment do I owe my landlord royalties? But he gave me the opportunity to write the novel! The best compromise I would have come up with was maybe being taxed a small dkp fee if their that desperate to charge him. Honestly it does sound like the guy just had a grudge against author, maybe for taking over as raid leader? no way someone is actually that petty over DKP... Wait actually no I totally see it

IO score for a mythic 0? People just want a carry...
@Lunsomat30003 жыл бұрын
Probably they wanna see only alts from big io players, they must not necessarily look for a carry. The thing is tho that without being a patreon of r.io, your rio score doesn't show on alt unless the alt has a minimum rio of 200 So I don't get how you want to see rio on a char for m0 edit: Minimum score for an alt is 200 (not 500)

47:28 ANY LOOT DRAMA? YES! KHOR, HAMMER OF THE GUARDIAN BLIZZARD'S BIGGEST MIDDLE FINGER TO MELEE. Taloc, the first boss in Uldir, drops a weapon called Khor, Hammer of the Corrupted. It has 4 color tints from the 4 difficulties (lfr, norm, heroic, mythic) but ALSO Taloc drops a "COSMETIC WEAPON" called Khor, Hammer of the Guardian. The first day the raid was released, Khor, Hammer of the Guardian dropped as a normal item (The same as every other "cosmetic item" thats dropped in raid in every other tier - Garrosh's shoulders, Xavius' shoulders, Maiden's mace, Aggramar's sword, Argus' Scythe. They all were equal to the raid's loot in stats) but this was not to last. Upon logging in to day 2 of Uldir ready to finish progressing, I found my weapon (That had dropped from heroic the night before, 370 item level, a socket. A fantastic start to the expansion) was now weaker in stats then my itemlevel squished Shadowmourne. It was a piece of garbage. Blizzard later reverted this, giving players who had received the weapon when it was a viable piece of gear back those viable stats. Eventually. The item restore page crashed from unfortunate melee who were trying to restore any weapon they might have received whilst levelling, maybe some had kept it.. Personally I apologized to my raid team, and logged off and shortly thereafter stopped playing the expansion. I came back at the end of Eternal Palace, patch 8.2, to find my weapon still in void storage, still item level 370 with a socket and viable stats. At least I had this unique item, this piece of history to show to people. And I left it, intending to keep it safe.. keep it hidden. Unfortunately, at some point during 8.3 Vision's of N'zoth Blizzard decided to remove the item from players who had it. It took me 6 tickets to find a GM who was capable of understanding what had happened, and to actually confirm that they had in fact removed the item from my (and presumably others) account/s. LOOT DRAMA.

Honestly ive found if you're honest and just say something like "I'm kinda nervous but I'm up for it" or something like that... you'd be surprised how many groups are cool with it. Healing My very first +10 in s1 of dragonflight (i hadn't played more than a few hours since MoP) as a resto shaman...during the wind boss in nokhud, i was STRUGGLING and they kept yelling for me to lust. We wiped and i said "I'm so sorry I'm really nervous this is the highest key I've done" and they all said "no prob we got this" and stuff like that. Then they gave me tips, reminded me to lust before the fight and before the last boss, and we timed the key. These strangers were surprisingly kind and they all congratulated me and the warlock traded me the dagger that dropped at the end for him. People tend to take pity if you just speak up and say "guys... I'm a noob" lol I went on to get KSM in s1. I didn't play at all in s2, but I'm about 400 away from KSM in s3 on my mistweaver. If that first +10 hadn't gone as well as it did, i might have just given up and moved on to another game

When I play something I usually , for a time , experience everything casual and then start to up my game.Let me tell you that if you want to do more difficult things and want to surround yourself with people with the same goal is hard.The ones you seek dont want anything to do with you and the casuals see you as an elitist and also dont want anything to do with you. So , if you want to transition from casual to anything attached to hard and mythic it will take a very long time. I have been in one casual guild in WoD and they were struggling to clear BRF HC and as you can expect it it was a cesspit guild.Girls were getting loot because they were girls.Couples were getting everything they wanted and if you joined the guild alone you were fucked but I was casual so I enjoyed the killing of the bosses for the first month so I didnt really care. I grew tired of it 1 month after BRF was released so I asked one of the girls was blaming the gear for not doing enough dps to kill Blackhand and I asked "How can you not do enough dps when you have all the ideal gear?"(technically "BiS hc"). She was a feral druid as I was but far far better gear than me and doing less dps than me.......the excuse they kept giving me for getting no gear week after week unless no one needed that piece. The guild master called me out to justify myself and the next second "Actually dont , you're kicked".That was the only sentence I said on guild chat aside of the usual "Hi" or "Sure ,I'll help". I was guildless for the rest of the expansion. I avoid casual guilds since then. I noticed that people like to criticize but not be critiqued and more often than not they know how to play victim. If you dont express that you feel sorry for being right because you made someone feel bad because you pointed out what they are doing wrong........ you are an elitist. All I do is what I expect someone else to point out to me but I have met only 2 or 3 officers in 7 consecutive years that point out the mistakes and they were not even in the same guild and met them far between in time. I got a better raider because they pointed out mistakes. The rest of them are "you bad , get better" when you are not even the biggest problem.They expected to carry their sorryass friends. P.S: Very few players in the respective guilds liked those 2-3 officers I am talking about and they are sociable and fun guys and gal they just pointed out what is the problem and who made the mistake and because of that most people didnt like them.They ended up in hardcore mythic guilds.

I'll be honest, I'm in a guild I can't stand (but that's because of the gm), but nobody really wants to leave it and make a new guild. There would be way too much backlash, the gm takes shit extremely personally. We also don't have anyone that's really capable of leadership (due to confidence issues thanks to the gm, or time issues, or just not being the type who can lead). So I'm stuck in a shit position going into shadowlands
@jeremywebster54323 жыл бұрын
I'm what you might describe as a "shit" player. I love the game, and enjoy playing it as a Kaldorei protection warrior. However, getting a handle on the number of mechanics for each boss multiplied by the number of bosses in an instance, combined with the "go go go" approach in random games is a bit too much for me to cope with. If I had a group of friends to game with, who would be patient as I learn, it wouldn't be so bad but causing wipe after wipe wouldn't be fun. I struggle IRL as well with long lists of things I'm supposed to remember. I only got through my university psychology courses because they were multiple guess exams and my guessing game was on point. I mostly play open world by myself. I'll occasionally tackle a dungeon that's way too easy for my power level just to say that I've been there and got the T-shirt. Still, I think it would be a lot more fun to be an effective part of a group. I know you have plenty of experience as a tank. Would you give me some tips for handling long lists of mechanics for instances? Is there a way to figure things out without wiping the group in the attempt?
@Syrnix3 жыл бұрын
Mate, youre overthinking this. You read about the dungeon bosses, you watch videos and most importantly you try it out until you have the mechanics on muscle memory. My first 30-40 dungeons tanking were a tragedy. The 41-60 were less so. Until it becomes second nature. Use add-ons and make an UI that helps you see the information you need (swirls to dodge, threat to keep, casts to interrupt). You will fail a lot, and ppl might get really angry at you, and if they do blizzard gave you an ignore buttom for a reason. Try, fail, try again, learn, fail again, try again, not fail. There's no secret, mate.
