Great reaction. Welcome aboard the Courtney bandwagon. It's always great to see a new and good reactor who knows their music weigh in. A little history on Courtney. Most people first got to know Courtney when she was a finalist on the 2018 season of America's Got Talent. Throughout that competition, she sang exclusively 60's and 70's classics such as James Brown, Steppenwolf and Tina Turner. Her audition was of Otis Redding's 'Hard to Handle' which went viral and the number of views it has had is now in the many hundreds of millions. As a result of her success on AGT, she was signed to a record deal by Syco/Arista records and her first album of original songs is scheduled to drop just after the first of the year. Although most of her earlier singing career was made up of ballads and other types of music, most casual fans viewed her as solely a rocker and were unaware that she excels in many other genres such as R&B, Funk, Soul, etc. She recently released four covers on her VEVO channel, of which 'Old Town Road' was one. Each of the covers were specifically chosen by Courtney to highlight a different aspect of her voice, including it's softer side and also to show that she can sing current music while remaining true to her music style. As you noted in Old Town Road, Courtney takes a song and makes it her own. You'll find that the same is true about her other recently released covers. If you decide to react to them or just listen to them, I promise you won't be disappointed. Many consider the covers far better than the originals. We say that she takes a song and 'Courterizes' it. Enjoyed your reaction to Courtney! She is known for taking a cover and making it her own! She's inspired by the greats of the 60s and 70s like Janis Joplin, James Brown and others who put soul into their music. When she performs on a full stage she's dancing and moving and has awesome stage presence and a ton of energy. Some have suggested in the comments to watch her AGT 2018 audition which I also recommend. I also recommend her performance on AGT The Champion 2019 where she did an original song called "Pretty Little Thing" and of course all of her recent covers on her VEVO channel. I love this girl, she's awesome!!

The first time I saw her was on AGT, she was 13 at the time and my mouth was open the whole time. I couldn't believe how good she was, and of course, the judges were all shocked. It was funny watching their reactions.

I looked at your reaction again, paying more attention to your expressions, because it's still hard not to look just at Courtney as many times as I have seen her. You are rather subtle in your responses, but they reflect how most people respond to Courtney--with appreciation and some amazement. I have heard other reactors say they really did not like the original Old Town Road; it's curious as to why it was so popular. Courtney owns and improves all her covers; can't wait to hear originals on her upcoming album. You obviously know your music. I hope you keep reacting to superstar Courtney! On another note, it's hard to believe Prince was not listed as one of the top guitarists--he certainly was🎸💥🌟

Great reaction and you are spot on! I don't know if you have reacted to Courtney before, but there are 3 others on her VEVO channel that are also better than the originals she covers, IMO. Of course, there are many KZbin videos of her before that are amazing, but Courtney is about to release her 1st album, probably early 2020, and she is going to be a superstar.

I can think of a lot of songs I'd love to hear her cover from the past such as any Joan Jett or some Bob Seger (esp "Old Time Rock n Roll) etc. She has a classic vibe to her. I am there with you. I think prince should be in the top 10 maybe even top 5 and as far as this song I thought the orginal was corny or even comical. Courtney completly changed this song to fit her rocker style and as always it was great.

I like your style man 👍 Of course, you are absolutely right, Courtney's voice plays with this song just as her presence on AGT & AGT Champions was doing the show a favour, albeit a mutual one. In the years to come we will look back on these as as oddities to be enjoyed lightly and with a certain amount of humour. This just never gets old. Watching people listen to her for the first time and seeing their facial reactions not knowing what to expect is what gets me emotional. It's was like watching her all over again for the first time. Just too cool. I had to watch your other videos to see what you're into. Your shirt kinda told me right off you would love this rocker. Courtney has toned down a little since her stint on America’s Got Talent. People compared her to Janis Joplin with her style and crazy movements. I’m not a big fan of the song, but I actually loved Courtney’s version. She has an amazing voice for age. I’m with you on lists by media outlets like Rolling Stone. I like what I like. Congratulations for your analysis. Just one thing, the guitar part is perfect, with a good sound. But it's too loud. I can't hear the rythmic instrument like I wish I would. That said, Courtney is the next big thing. She got everything for that!
