When I was younger I HATED being dramatic shape, I'm an inverted triangle with very sharp boyish features. As I got older, I've really embraced it - these features age well - my cheekbones compliment me more with age. Shout out to my dramatic gals

I guess that my confusion is often based on whether or not a person has some weight. You can't see whether person's bones are sharp and blunt anymore. Also, I feel like brows can mislead me too. If they are straight and sharp it may seem that a person is dramatic when in reality they are not. Hm

I think soft dramatic can be confusing to type, because Kibbe does say that it's not necessary that soft dramatics are very fleshy, and usually when they aren't they may lack in the bust and hip area (which is certainly my case). Also, most examples of soft dramatics are usually women of a riper age which is reflected in their figure. But if you see their younger pictures, some of them are actually quite thin and you wouldnt think to type them as soft dramatic. I think this could be a good topic to discuss!

She just did a video like this for Romantics! They cover the Romantic vs Soft Natural, if you wanted to go look for it! I was confused between R and SN until I tried on the lines for SN and went ".....yeah. no."

The biggest difference between R and SN is the frame. Even if Rs can be slightly wide they usually don’t have the frame, when they get heavier they look puffy. They are narrow and small framed overall. SNs doesn’t need width always, but they need frame. They look like they can carry stronger line, more voluptuous curves. The JLO curve to be precise. Romantics will have a double curve, and no elongation. SN doesn’t need that, they have stronger and more “Instagram curves”.

This is a very good suggestion! Kibbe types retain their underlying features despite weight gain, but excess fat certainly obscures them and makes it very difficult to determine which category you fall under. It would be helpful to see an 1) underweight, 2) healthy weight, 3) overweight and 4) obese example of the body types, along with an explanation of typical fat distribution for each as well.

@@jac5450 I agree. However, the term 'curves' is misused, I fear. It became synonym for overweight. It's wrong. The most lean and fragile, delicate body can have curves. Google supermodel of 90's Yasmeen Ghauri. Lean and lush Soft Dramatic.

Still unsure. I am 177cm tall, which is just a bit above the average in my country. I definitely have an hourglass figure, with 97cm, both hips and bust and 56cm waist. I have long limbs, quite thin ones and tapered shoulders. My feet are rather small for this height- 37eu, but they appear long as they’re narrow. I don’t put on weight easily and when I do, my waist appears even smaller in comparison to the rest of the figure. I don’t have angular face at all, it’s roundish oval with full cheeks. I have big almond eyes and full lips. My head is quite big so I don’t really appear as tall as I really am, though my much taller boyfriend might also be the case

Don't look at the details (makes you confused) focus on the overall image. If you described yourself in a few words what would it be? What sticks out? For me I'm long lean and small = gamine.

At that height you can only be Soft Dramatic, Dramatic or Flamboyant Natural. So when you look at yourself in the mirror what do you notice first? Is it your height and curvy figure or your shoulders and frame? If your curves are the first thing you see you are probably SD. If your frame is the dominant feature, then you are probably FN. And, if your length and narrowness is the dominant feature you are most likely a pure D.

I am 90% sure that I am a soft dramatic but sometimes still have doubts if I am a dramatic or not. I tried the dramatic hairstyles ( sleek and sculpted, straight, wasnt a look for me) also when it comes to dresses long wrap dresses suit me the most. Is there a way to clarify this easier?

Look for flesh on upper arms and bigger bust. Flesh on upper limbs is a good indicator bc most Ds have come curve on thights.

@@brunamota8865 Yes, being underweight or overweight doesn't help. But, even than, the body has accentuated bust-waist-hips ratio or it's straight. SD's don't have narrow hips or flat chest. D's rarely have any curves at all. SD is about lush flesh, unlike D. Without flesh, body can look more like D. SD has height/vertical line and curves to accommodate, D only height/vertical line. SD clothes is meant to hug the curves. It's all about the size of the curves. If you don't have them, perhaps D options would be better for you. Go by the vibe and your energy, personality. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nicole Kidman don't have very different body images. Jamie is D, Nicole is FN. It's overall vibe. And the face, although Kibbe abandoned face as relevant in his system.

@@blueice011 The thing I have caracteristics that would define me both as D and SD. I'm tall and I look tall, besides my hands and feet I believe I have long, narrow bones and all that jazz. However I look moderately curvy from the front (which could be just curves every human body has) but I'm very curvy from the back even tho I'm very close to being underweight. Does that make me a D with a booty? Or an ultrathin SD? Should I take into account how I look from the front and back? And what if those sides tell me different things? Also as a young person I'm not really sure if I can tell the difference between a regular hourglass/pear shaped body and a instagram hourglass/pear shaped body. I think my perception is screwed up! Don't get me wrong I know you're being helpful and informative but there are a lot of questions left unanswered, especially because all the creators talking about this subject mainly use white women as examples

Some people have baby face but they arent gamine(selena gomez), it's about the overall look , the bone structure, the vertical line ....gamine is smaller, shorter so they does looks petite and young, but soft natural can be short too ...it depends on many things. What important is that know which type of clothing line suit the body the most( which very hard bc soft natural can wear some of gamine clothes, vice versa)

The BIGGEST FLAW of that typing system is that it needs people to be model thin to be typed correctly. Any extra weight, even if it's ever so slight, can cause anybody to be in a whole different category that might be completely wrong for them.

I love you! You are so insightful and gorgeous! I like that you have grown your hair so its below your chin and lightened it to add more contrast (both of these make your face less wide) and have styled it in a way that is more straight yet still soft/tousled (so it's still soft gamine). I think this has definitely slimmed your face and suits you! I like the lipstick you have chosen for this video better than the mauve-y pink one you normally wear b/c I think that one is a bit too cool-toned. Also, are you wearing colored contacts or is it just the lighting or the tan? They look lighter. I'm tall (5'9), and have very long bones (legs, arms, feet, etc.), however I also have large hips with a rather big behind, despite being bony. You can have some yin features in your face and be a D. You can also have a big butt and be one because Kibbe uses the front of our bodies and a curvy butt isn't taken into consideration there. It's about whether you have width (the fabric pulling around your shoulders/ribcage), or you are narrow all over and more 'straight' leaning. Maybe you can also take a look at celebs.

I use to be more of a soft classic in my younger age. Now that I am older, I see myself as more of a dramatic classic as I am thinner and good ol' arthritis gives me more of a "sharper" appearance. When you age, you lose collagen and elasticity. Your bones appear prominent- especially arthritic joints. Just saying.

I think I'm a flamboyant natural (I THINK😊) It's obvious to me because Naturals look more, manly. Dramatics don't look manly, they look, sharp, but not like men. Not like your typical man. Their hips are too narrow, their shoulders are too, slight. If they were a man they would look like they were starving, or like they hadn't finished growing. A Natural looks like your typical man (of the same height and size). If that makes sense.

I am FN, my Mom is dramatic. She has narrower shoulders, thin lips, pointy elbows, her wrists and ankles are really thin while mine are wide. I am more muscular and wider in general. A dramatic looks slim and long, while a FN looks large and powerful

Very straight, no hips, thin bones, thin lips, long torso, long thin nose, soft inverted triangle facial shape, small eyes, cheekbones are not angular, 5"6'. Now that I'm older, I look much softer! Currently losing the fleshy parts with weight loss. Guessing mostly Dramatic for myself. My weight gain has been in my torso. Yang energy for sure.

Now I'm really confused. I'm pretty tall (180 cm), have sharp facial features even though I have full lips. Also I have thin and long fingers, small and thin feet. Sharp shoulders and collar bone with thin waist and small chest. On the other hand I have thick tights and bigger but. Even though I'm normal weight.

I struggle to tell the body types apart. I was typed as a Dramatic but I see my body shape in a lot of the other types too! It’s confusing
