FINALLY someone that compared dramatic classic to soft dramatic, this is why you are one of my favorite kibbe channels. Honestly this has been an (insane) challenge for me as i have been trying to figure out my kibbe for years - I'm 1,68cm and people very often perceive me as taller than i am (and i mean OFTEN okay this is something that happened even before I knew aboht kibbe) so when i first got in touch with kibbe studies and such i figured i woukd be in the dramatic family (but couldn't be pure dramatic because i need waisy emphasis on my outfits or I look like a bizarre square/baloon), but sometimes the very flashy and more yin recommendations of SD sometimes felt off (i wasnt sure) so i ended up on dramatic classic which made sense to me in terms of style (wearing smaler and more geometric things) however it always bothered me the recommendation on DC said waist emphasis wasnt a must and well, the height/vertical issue - but i kept on DC cause i figured ..okay it's not gonna always go by the book and be perfect. And then kibbe says that anyone taller than 1,67 is wother D,SD or FN and MAN I'm back to square one LOL

Same here! I thought I'm Dramatic Classic for years until I realized I'm too tall. The reason it was hard to recognize that I am SD was because everyone is using Sophia Loren as an example, and she is so voluptuous while I am slim and slender. It took doing a test with a friend and her pointing out my curve and then looking up photos of slim SDs to realize it.
@brigitecunhacese4605Ай бұрын
@@foreveronthemove yeah after a LONG journey I'm back to SD finally. Someone else also pointed out the vertical and the curve and there's basically no other thing I can be I figured after years of studying and searching

Thank you, Sophia. I was first "misdiagnosed" as a dramatic classic, based on my pics and answers on the test. But even that was mixed, equal amount of A answers and C answers, and some D and E (some face features and prominent body features). Thank you for all your help.

Thanks for watching!! Yes, the test doesn’t work unfortunately, I believe Kibbe has mentioned that his publisher told him to include it because quizzes were all the rage back when the book was released. But he has said himself that it doesn’t work.

@@stylebysophianicole I was typed as either a tall DC or an SD (I’m 5’8) but a lot of people are saying I have a classic essence based on my face. Does that make me more likely to be a DC if I don’t have a dramatic face?

Mar West used to wear specially made platforms to significantly increase her height, they would be added on to her own shoes to give appearance of being taller. It's unclear whether Kibbe knows this. So her height might be more of a n unintentional red herring

very good video i am 169 cm tall and also thought i was dramatic classic when I found out that from 167 cm you can only be D SD or FN I thought I could only be D because I have small breasts and narrow shoulders but when I tried the lines I quickly realized that there was no way I could be a D Far from it i have soft features and flesh over on my angular bones and a very pronounced hip ergo SD when i tried the SD lines everything suddenly fell into place and i looked amazing

My body looks similar to Ava Gardner but I am much shorter (5'4) and I look more delicate around my shoulders, thorax and in the face. Would that still match SD or should I look more into FG/SG/TR)? Essence wise people usually say they either perceive me as gentle, graceful, a bit naive perhaps and flirtatious, even if that's not my intention usually. 🌹

It depends on what you mean when you say similar, if the proportions are the same but scaled down (so a bit shorter but still elongated), I wouldn’t exclude SD yet. It’s not uncommon at 5’4 at all!

I love your videos🌹 Do you still feel like kibbe is helpful for what to actually put on in the morning? I ask this because for a while there were so many ”rules” and now, as I understood, he doesn’t use them at all anymore….? I get that it wasn’t perfect, but I need rules😂 I mean, I nead SOMETHING to guide me, otherwise it doesn’t help me to know my type (other then for a gala). I find ”rules” very helpful and never felt limited by them because it is up to me to apply them or not- no little style police controls me. I need direction on what to wear, but not for these hollywood looks, rather: what is rachel weisz wearing to walmart or when she helps her grandma. Those ORDINARY days. Because us soft dramatics imho really risk to look frumpy in the ”wrong” combination. (I use the word wrong, I have no issue with it but apologize if it bothers someone).

@stylebysophianicole2 ай бұрын
I agree on dramatic family but there is so little information about how this system works for men that I am not sure which of the two he is. I am leaning pure dramatic.
@TheGareth872 ай бұрын
@@stylebysophianicole in my own experience, it works mostly similar for men. The yin in tall Romantic men like Richard Gere and Lorenzo Lamas manifest in small, rounded facial features and smaller scale everywhere despite the actual length of the body. For Colin Firth, it's also the complete lack of solid bone structure with noticeable flesh taking over. For men, visible weight gain will make it clearer to determine their types. I'm a moderate FN male with a long and narrow frame like Nicole Kidman. I gained 15kgs and my upper body becomes much more stocky/ square so the width becomes more visible in the upper chest + shoulder. I always knew I was a tall type because my head and facial features are big in scale like Lady Gaga and can carry huge geometric sunglasses and jewelry. So it's also pretty intuitive and holistic for men.

Surely some soft gamines could be mistaken for soft dramatics as soft dramatic can be medium height and even short, rarely and narrow, soft gamines are narrow and can be as tall as 5'6/5'7 ? Soft gamines are also sharp (small scale) with curve(s), soft flesh and features and can have some vertical. You don't have to have the same essence as your body i.d either so I think some people may be confused between those two. How would you differentiate the two?
@stylebysophianicole2 ай бұрын
SGs won’t be taller than 5’4/5’5! If they have vertical, they are going to be very petite or else the vertical will cancel petite and make them just vertical + curve, so not SGs. In Kibbe’s system the essence and the body are always connected, it’s an image system after all. There will be a noticeable difference in essence between SD and SG.
@Carrie-sgda2 ай бұрын
@@stylebysophianicole are you saying your main essence will be your kibbie i.d or one of your main two ?, or three ?
@stylebysophianicole2 ай бұрын
In Kibbe you have only one essence, your ID’s essence. It doesn’t translate from other systems, for example Kibbe and Kitchener gamine are completely different. So if you try to base it on the essence you have in other systems it will probably not work. It will just confuse you instead of helping you.

I love the kibbe system, and it has really helped me, but..... When I first started to look into this system years ago, I was so confused, as well as hurt. Im 5'9 and now that I know it, obviously a soft dramatic, but getting to that point took me a long time and I had to deal with some misconceptions about myself and also with the way that others may perceive me. Words like large, angular, masculine, big, undelicate, etc. where such hard things for me to get past. I dont have large feet for my height, I dont look un symmetrical, I dont have a large sharp nose, and the list goes on. Some of this denial as to what my shape was is because of those harsh words and the way that they made me feel. In my head being those things made me unattractive and unfeminine. I want to say that that is totally untrue! First off, your shape and size does not make you either attractive or unattractive. Understanding how clothes fit on your frame to help you make the most of your uniqueness has nothing to do with that. Secondly those descriptive words are relative. I dont have a large sharp nose but my nose is longer than the nose of someone who is sitting on a smaller frame. The overall size of the nose is the same proportion on both of our faces but because my face is larger in scale then my nose is as well. It would look very odd if it wasn't. The biggest thing that helped me to find my own type was to finally understand what this system was really used for. It is a system designed by a stylist who understood how clothing was made and how to tailor it to fit the many different bodies out there. A good example would be to take a taller woman, an average height woman, and a shorter woman to a jean store. If they all bought the exact same jeans, the odds would be that they wouldn't fit 2 of the 3 women. Why? Because the leg length, the crotch length, the rise of the jeans allow the jeans to fit a certain set of measurements. A taller woman might have a 32 inch inseam, an average woman a 30 inch inseam, and a shorter woman a 28 inch inseam. Each of the body types has to make adjustments to their clothing to make them fit their shape, the eaiest way to do this is to find clothing that already gets closer to fitting them. Example: soft dramatics have a long frame so they need to accommodate for that. Wearing longer clothing helps keep their frame proportional and makes clothing easier and more comfortable for them to wear. Soft Dramatics have curve, curve is interesting in the kibbe world because all woman have curve but the types of curve they have is what defines curve for the kibbe system. If you have curve that extends to the side of your frame, I call this side boob, then this is the type of curve that needs a different accommodation than normal and kibbe states this as curve accommodation. In this case when you shop for clothing you will do better with clothing that allows more room in the breast/hip area. If you dont do this your clothing will pull awkwardly and not fit you. You will constantly be adjusting your clothing on your frame. The whole kibbe system is designed to help you shop for clothing that makes you shine. It also helps you choose clothing that feels good and keeps your uniqueness at front stage. We are not cookie cutters and we shouldn't look like them. I love the freedom to embrace my height, my curve, and even my larger frame. When I figured this out, I found a way to feel truly beautiful for the first time in my life. So thank you kibbe and all the other people who have invested the time to help me get to this point. Interestingly: my mother is a FN, my daughters are FN, and R, and my daughter in law is a TR. Going shopping with all these women used to be a nightmare for me, and now I have so much fun!! Instead of trying to fit into clothes that would look great on one of them I try on clothes that look great on me and if I find an outfit that fits the lines of one of them I very happily put it in their pile for them to try on!
