Draminski Best Way to Measure Moisture and Temperature in Hay!

It's important not to put wet or hot hay into a barn. High moisture and rising temperatures is a good way to have a barn fire. What we like to do is let the hay cool down to something under 100 degrees Farenheit before we stack it. It may take a day or as much as a week before it cools down. After its cool, we stack them like soup cans in the barn. Our goal for the year is to have 75 bales stacked and ready for winter.

Thanks for watching Mr. Ramsey! High moisture and temperature could cause spontaneous combustion and a barn fire. That's why I let them cool in the barn. I will stack them when they are below 100F.
