These guys are nothing like the old Marillion. They’re completely different and they’re still so amazingly captivating.

ROTHERY is brilliant. Anything from him is a must listen. Was listening to Marillion in the late 80's and my friends thought I was nuts.

I was there for this (almost 12 years ago, my God!!) and it's hard to put into context how weird this felt. The entire weekend was basically a perfect set and giant lovefest between band and fans, so to have this, possibly the 'climax' of the Sunday night, go off the rails completely sucked the air out of the room, especially when H looked as flustered as he did. Once Rothery broke into his final solo you could feel the entire crowd slowly starting to go nuts, then H went crowdsurfing... I will never forget this performance as long as I live!!
@michaelmclaughlin6376 Жыл бұрын
Me neither. I was there. This Strange Engine is my favorite song in the world by anyone, and I'd seen Marillion four other times and they'd never played it. But this night, "Shortest setlist" meant I WOULD hear it finally. The ENTIRE weekend was perfect. Sunday night was perfect: Ocean Cloud, so many great performances of everything. FINALLY I was to hear my favorite song, and off the rails it went. I was devastated!

@@mollybloom5681 The song Montreal by Marillion. It contains the following lyrics about this gig: "It warmed the heart to watch him float around the hall Soaking up, reflecting, radiating Just as I would tomorrow night on the outstretched tender hands, tender hands, tender hands Of Montreal" Here's a link to the song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rH69XqFna9CJfdE

Only got to see them once on the Seasons End tour . Only time they played Atlanta that I know. They played a small 600 or so seat theater. Man what a mindblow . We were about 10 rows from stage and they rocked the place. Always wanted to see them again but I guess they dont care to much for the states, cant say I blame them
