Hogarth has one of the BEST performance voices on the planet IMHO. You can FEEL the emotion of the song no, not song, musical story, because that is what Marillion write. Some of the most dramatic and purely evocative music. I am SO glad I have had the privilege to be alive at the same time as these immensely talented musicians. THANK YOU MARILLION! Woot, I was the 2000th "like"

'agreed.', george - but equally it is the most DESTRUCTIVE of spirit song i ever heard.. :'( it eternally makes me think back to a relationship i was in, she made me feel SOOOOOOOOOOO powerful, so capable, and when it was over - i realised i am simply me. 'neverland.' x

Alastair Gardner I'm sorry to hear that Alastair! I think everyone has songs that bring up mixed feelings about relationships past & present. Thankfully for me, all the Marillion ones are related to only happy memories! :-D P.S. 'The Other Half' always chokes me up, because it reminds me of the build-up to our wedding day! But I'd prefer not to talk about 'Seal's - Kiss From A Rose', that song was banned from any airplay for several years! ;-)

Sublime... Steve Rothery must be the most underrated guitarist in all of rock history. But the highlight of this piece of musical art is that Steve's solo wouldn't be what it is without the rest of the composition. All the experienced musicians transmit so much in this song, and what to say about the vocalist, impeccable, his interpretative capacity is a class apart. It is seen that they did not skimp on finding a worthy replacement for Fish. I met this band in the Fish era, but they haven't stopped walking, and on that path they have left us pieces like this one. if I were given a choice of 5 songs that I would keep after a memory wipe, in the rite of passage, this would be one of them.

Anyway played this to many friends who are not into marillion, and everyone of them has loved it on first listen .and agreed it is purely classic ...and that H,s voice is something else

It's an amazing moment, and i.m.o. better live than on the studio version (which has the keys too far in the background). But my personal meltdown moment is when Steve sings "But when you're gone, I never land in neverland"... and the way the synth drops down low. It's too much for me to take :-(
