Hi,Andy That was a very interesting project this time. I didn't see your vision until it was most of the way through. Great result,as usual. Very unique. Here is a challenge for you. Remember how Gothic those side tables were? Go into the dark,steamy,industrial world of Steam Punk. Very cool stuff with a large following. There is a guy in Texas( I believe) named Dean( and his dog Colassis)who I've been following for awhile now. He makes custom pieces with various style themes. One of my favorites! I laughed so hard at these. In the late 60's early 70's this was a big look. It was supposed to be a rustic version of furniture from Spain. I will never forget my friends new living room suite. RED crushed velvet couch with heavy wood trim. An octagon coffee table with a hole in the middle that a big brazier style tray of aged brass sat in. Big heavy wooden coffee tables. The wood was all dark like this too. It was something to behold. We were at 12yrs old, in awe. I just love how you turned these into a pair of garden beauties.

Oh yes, I survived that furniture trend. We called it Spanish Mediterranean. I had one of those red crushed velvet sofas. We put black wrought iron chains on everything. I even made a velvet wall hanging of a Spanish conquistador. It was awesome! 😄😄😄 Thankfully that trend didn't last long.

Wowza! Those were free for a very good reason! 🤢 But now they are set free! I hear John Denver playing in the back ground as my best friend and I ride bareback on horses in a beautiful meadow….looking for fairies. Yep we did that in our youth, we were born in 1960. It was always magical. We were out in the woods and fields in the beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon… from 3rd grade til she moved to Texas after HS graduation. Best way to be a kid! The nightstands have that feel. We were very artistic and made up all kinds of stories. We painted rocks and were chosen in high school to paint a mural in the band room. Likely why I so enjoy your wonderful YT! Nightstands came out wonderfully magical for me! 🧚💫🧚🏼‍♂️

This style always makes me think that the former owners were VERY into that big hair rock & metal of the 80s, with the wooden panel walling, all their furniture was this heavy, dark stuff, and these nightstands would have matching 'treasure chest' jewelry/'stash' boxes on them... I still see those boxes at the thrift store. I love what you've done with them, the kids currently call it "Cottage Core" (alliteration unintended). Just lovely.

Good you thought then rethought the greens and all the perfection within the imperfections is leaving me near tears. It is that good. Reminds me of a paint scared floor and attic terrible made into a secret huge bedroom retreat with the floor simply stained over the crap paint drips. Wish I coulda had these two to match but did with a pair of myrtle wood long slabs instead and angled bed. You made my past come alive again. I thank you for these two treasures. Wonderful job. Wow...my new favorite! When you were taking all that heavy hardware off and whitewashing, I thought that you could use wallpaper in the panels, but the transfers were even better. And I love the Lichen green color...reminds me of a witches cottage that you go to for remedies in Spring. Lovely new nightstands, but you could also use them for end tables or put a piece of wood over the top for a cool desk with one each side.
