You are a wonderful artist, and I can truly say, you do not need art school, Because you’ve already got it going on.

You need a degree to teach should you not be able to open up a business
@day2Dawn4 жыл бұрын
i disagree. No education ever goes to waste and theres always something new to learn and also a lot you can learn technically and challenge yourself in school. School or not, its never a waste to get some type of education.
@AgyWilson4 жыл бұрын
The premise that you need to go to college to teach isn't exactly true. To teach in public schools and some college levels, yes. But I've taught calligraphy for over 40 years. I did go to art school, but didn't finish, and I studied with some very heavy hitters (Ieaun Rees, Peter Halliday, Paul Maurer, Mark Van Stone, Dick Beasley, Bonnie Spiegel to name a few), so you DO have to know what you're doing. It's true the degree does open up more possibilities, but I've given workshops in public schools, taught adult ed and at college level as the independent discipline. But to exhibit in art galleries, sell your work, or even teach under some circumstances? NO, you don't need college or art school. You need to be doing it every day, and what you're already doing (I learned ever so much more teaching, than as a student, because I had to EXPLAIN and demonstrate what I thought I knew and became much more masterful with each passage). Great good luck to you! Young people I'm hopeful will do a better caretaking than those who've passed before!

@@AgyWilson how can I get my art more valued and get to teach without a degree? Any suggestions to how the whole art world actually works? I'm a beginner. I need an idea. Thank you:)

Tip: marking a layer as your reference layer then creating a new one allows you to just drag the color from the corner, automatically filling it. No need to outline the shape of said color first. Might saver ya time, might not, use it as you may! Though I will say I didn’t know you could fill in colors the way you do. And the spaced out monoline pen added such a great touch. I feel like I picked up on so much just from this one video. Thank you for posting it :) I too may post “let’s draws” in the near future. Good content!! 👍

Really enjoy your process and imagery. I'm trying to figure out the best process for me, and wondering if each color and objects need to be on a separate layer (I try to name my layers, it helps me keep track of what and where I'm working, and makes me more aware of the different effects of under and over layers). Hadn't thought of playing with the brushes (like your dotted brush before, and will definitely be playing more with that. Nice process, and I like your end result very much. Subscribed!
