I can't believe Jacob forgot the lore of the Mole God. The Mole God only shows up if he's _not_ invited, and furthermore from the episode where Mole God is discussed, we know that Nathan _did_ invite him, because he said that making a list of all the old gods and sending them invitations was the first step of planning a wedding. It was a step he'd already completed, even at the time. Of course the Mole God isn't there. He received his formal invitation and isn't insulted by being forgotten, so he didn't come. Additionally, they seek out the blood that is best for their eggs, which they determine based on the blood type of their victims. Mosquitos have what is effectively a tier list of blood types which they prefer, with O being at the top iirc. That’s why they bite some people much more than others. I'm from Aus and had no idea what a rainforest cafe was until today, and thought it was literally a cafe you see in a forest (like a rest stop for hikers or tourists) and thought "oh that sounds really peaceful" until I googled it and found out it's a chain location filled with a plastic safari, and now Karina's comment of a man in an ape suit screaming makes a lot more sense.
