I will say that Geralt is actually problematic though. not in the show yet, I don't think (I haven't watched season 2) and not in the games where they made him a bit of a Gary Sue and reverted him to his old self before having personal growth. but in the books, Geralt realizes very late that he has taken a side by being neutral, and it was the wrong side. He says "Ciri was right. Neutrality is vile." and he basically realizes the whole "if you are neutral you've taken the side of the oppressor." thing and that his neutrality was not about morality; it was about cowardice. Very poignant part of his character that was disappointingly omitted from the games, perhaps because fans got attached to Geralt's neutrality as his whole thing and refused to see it as a flaw.

He never does and he's so talented... While I admit that Julia's or Karina's pieces tend to be more striking as solo works, there's something to be said about Nathan's ability to merge with the styles of any piece of canon he's given to work with, and how comfortable he seems using them despite his apparent reservations. And also, including this ep there's been a few now that have left me super ????? By not choosing Nathan's piece as thumbnail. So believe in yourself, Nathan! You're starting 2022 in great shape!

@@annalisasteinnes They also use clever wardrobe tricks to make Geralt look bigger/broader! I find it so funny how much Julia talks about being uncomfortable doing portraits only because she's so damn good at it. A lot of it is her ability to include implied storytelling elements but it just cracks me up to hear her be like "I was suffering while making this I found it so difficult" and then come out with a certified banger with so much mood and energy to it

didn't expect to see the racist wine aunt in this one for sure but boy did he turn out awesome😭😭it's the composition and the simple but very prominent background that does it for me. it's, like, every time i see a fanart of barok, it just gets more and more impressive. that's the kind of crowd he brings to himself, i guess. you rock, Karina! and i am in awe from Julia's work, too. i've never seen chainsaw man itself but makima sure knows how to make her way to my recommendations. it's fascinating how this one gets straight to the point with glowing eyes in the dark and chains around her and the limited color palette brings out the hidden danger so well. it's like you know she's dangerous, but you don't know in *what* sense, which is even scarier in my opinion. overall, great work, Julia! thank you all for the video!!
