A great reminder about the importance of simplifying (which is important for even those of us who have been drawing for some time!)

Two good examples: pencil sharpener and bird. I notice that the basic shapes are not erased when details are added, and that implies very light strokes to start with. Well worth watching.

I spent all day today making shapes and warping them in any direction, by the end of the day i put them together and got myself my first "real" attempt at making a human body! its very exciting! so exciting that all i see now is "hmm that is a square, thats a circle" and its currently 5.30am and i cant sleep cuz i cant stop thinking of SHAPES.

I like your videos and I feel like I’m learning from them, but I’m going to offer some constructive criticism, Fair warning!: You’re speaking slowly, but the video is sped up. It’s hard to reconcile the difference in tempo when I’m listening to you but then I look up and you’re 10 steps ahead. In the (beginners🙋♂️) shoe drawing you said to do the most shaded/dark parts first, ,but around 2:00 you make the circle, do a little shading, BUT then jump around adding details all over just to come back and darken the shade in that circle... Sorry for bitching about your wonderful tutorials, sincerely! Why not shade that circle completely before jumping around ? Also, that invisible-ish cursor is SO hard to follow it just seems like your drawings progress magically and I don’t understand the ‘stroke? The pacing during the initial box was snaillike compared to how quick you went as it got more complicated, I think inverting that relationship would be super beneficial! Andddd this is why I can’t smoke weed and go on KZbin Thanks dude love your help i still am terrible but I kinda am learning? “Go home I’m drunk” - everyone
