It takes forever to finish a piece for me, because at some point I start seeing all the flaws in it and try to correct them, and the more I correct the more there are to correct :D I will try to finish in one day following the steps, thanks for the video 💜
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
Omg that's so relatable tbh. Like I do my sketch, I like it. Then I ink it and start to notice proportional issues then I fix them and colour it, see mistakes again, fix them and make everything worse. Then I end up with 4 corrected paint overs and the original looked still the best lol I so sorry for that. I think that's why I tested to draw faster so that I won't get attached to any of my steps and be more carefree ^^

I'm making a sketch rn that has a gun in it, and i wanted to make it somewhat perspective-realistic. It took me many hours to get the sketch of the gun done, but at the end, i realised that some parts were wrong so i did some things over. In the end i just scrapped the whole gun and now i'm redrawing it from start. Perfectionism is such a curse I did learn some new things on how to draw certain things in perspective tho, such as how to make a perfect square, so although it took me alot of time, i did learn from it

Typically my art takes 2-3 weeks just like you, so it was wonderful to see you use the outline-shape tool to speed up the process! I haven't used that since PAINT TOOL SAI days! I need to pick it up again, because seeing you do everything in one day really proves how fast you got through to the detail portion of your art.

Actually I had luck with the pose. I am currently trying to make a new sketch and it's painful how long it already takes. Actually in Paint tool sai. Clip Studio offers such a seamless work flow that I don't want to miss it. Sai is a bit hard for me right now lol
@RandomBore4Ever

@@kurohshiro I love Sai but I've been trying to transition to CSP like you have in the video. So I get you. My problem is I can't seem to get into the workflow, but your video definitely helps! I just really like the stabilizer on SAI too much, but there's no textured/depth brushes on there so CSP it is. Poses are rough, so good luck with that! I won't lie, it's a whole other skill set to level up LOL

Yooo one day that’s insane - I tried a few times to finish birthday present artworks on the same day as their birthday and failed miserably - I normally spend an average of 20-30 hours so damn, only 9 hours for an artwork with little quality difference from your usual art is pretty neat. I really like the colors in this piece - maybe because I’m bias since red is my favourite color, but I like how the saturated red stands out from the blue and purple hues, it looks really mesmerising lmao. The effects look really cool! I feel like the outline brush kind of ruins the lines in a way because there is no line variation especially in the hair due to the fact it has constant width but it’s not noticeable so yeah
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
9h is actually really unusual for me. 20 to 30 hours sound more realistic. But I recently noticed that my art isn't necessarily better when I take longer so I forced it this way. Even if this means using the outline function. I do agree. It's a fast shortcut to put down shapes but in the end I should have inked the parts as well to make them less stiff and include line variation. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate this constructive criticism :)

I love your art and watching your process is always a treat! It's so great to see that it's actually possible to finish something that looks really amazing and not spend a week on it. My ultimate nemesis is the lineart part. Somehow after linearting all the energy that was there while they were just sketches is gone and it's so disappointing to see every time, haha... And the "I don't know when to stop" while rendering is so true! The unending loop of corrections XD Thank you for the amazing video, it's very helpful and motivating as always!

I think one thing to mention is that you can only draw fast after you get really good at drawing slow. For lots of beginner artists, they want to draw fast and quick like all the professionals they see online, but that’s all a misconception!! All these experts and your favorite artists, they all started somewhere, and they didn’t rush it. To get good and draw fast like kuro, you need to go the full processes multiple times until it becomes natural, then you can take shortcuts.
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
That's a very valid point. Yiu have to know what parts of your usual process you can skip in order to receive the same outcome. I still think in the beginning stages quantity is important to have a collection of various pieces to analyse and spot mistakes since mistakes are repeated and to spot them you have to find patterns. Thanks a lot for your comment!

learn more about perspective + lighting + focal points i've looked at some of your other artworks and they all share similar problems, compare yourself to some really good artists when it comes to the things i mentioned before, then look at your work, i'm sure you'll figure it out, you can also learn about these things from someone who isn't an artist, just because they're good it won't mean they can explain things well anyways so just watch a lot of videos on it or read about it if that's what you prefer. i promise you that you'll see pretty huge improvements if you grind towards mastering those things, you seem to have everything else at a really good level. only reason i'm not picking out everything in a long detailed explanation is because there's no guarantee you'd even read it, so instead i'll just leave you with the general things you need to work on

Wait, what about the rough color process? Should that still be implemented for other pieces? :

It's sad that I skipped it here. I wanted to try multiply layers so badly and thought it wouldn't work with the rough colour layers. But you're right. They would be perfect here. Don't worry I'll do this again next time for sure since I enjoy this step the most and it's actually helpful :)

Hi, I would like to ask for advice on coming up with an artwork, I'm someone who constantly feels like that can't come up with any pose, I'm up for drawing any character, or anything, but I just struggle so hard on an actual pose, I've even tried copying poses offline but I just only see them as studies, I can't imagine them as characters from things I like such as Genshin or ZZZ, could you please help out with some ideas on fixing this?
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
Hey! When I have to think of ideas for Poses I go to Pinterest and save everything which caught my attention. From there I start drawing by copying one pose. I may not like the arm in the reference so I look through my other refs and use the arm pose from there. And so on. Little by little I frankenstein my Poses together like that. I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best 😌

The thing I struggle a lot is Detailing I just don’t how/what/where to place details in my illustration does anyone know any artist who talks more about this?
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
So you don't know where to place them and how much? I would say focus on the parts of your illustration where you want people to look at for a longer time. Like the focal point. I sadly don't know any artist talking about it. I am wishing you the best of success! Maybe I can make a video about it when I am in the position to do so 🙇‍♂️

how many hours in 2-3 weeks do you spend? is it like 9hrs per day as well or 1-3 hours?
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
Ahh no 9h would be insane tbh. Yes 1 to 3. Sometimes 5. It really depends. But stretching the process over such a long time makes me not to finish my art. So forcing it in one day helped in that regard.

woah thats really fast! for me its usually took 3-7 days from sketch to finish, but the sketch always took the longest because i always look back and forth, and i have problem, i dont know why i keep caring about miniscule detail and made it longer even when i think about its not that important. ( ;∀;)
@kurohshiro
@kurohshiro Ай бұрын
Hmm actually the sketch is very important in my opinion since it's the Base and when the Base is solid the rest will be working as well I think :) but your 3 to 7 days is actually quite fast as well! I am currently drawing on a new piece and the sketch is already a thing of 7 days :/
@rakatcf8618

@@kurohshiro agreed! solid base is really important. what i think is better changed was my habits worrying about little detail that might been not seen on end result, but taking all the time i have to be worked on- ahem, sorry for babbling. but for your quality of works its really understandable to be taking longer! thats what i thought (*・ω・)b♪ not only the artwork, but the video is godlike and always lots of help! so really much appreciate.
