How did you get the coordinates? I was wondering if I make a new triangle with some other coordinates, how will i get the midpoints ? Thanks

Sir, may I have help on the opacity. In tikz, opacity option does not do anything. Already made correct codes also tried. I could not find any help on google. I have no idea which package is topping this option. Thanks

This is very difficult to answer without seeing your code. You can try commenting out your packages one by one in a minimal document with only your picture and your preamble. This should at least locate the problem.

May I know the reason for not calling Tikz as a drawing program? Although we r using it for drawing. It seems to be a paradoxical definition.

From the manual: "...when you use TikZ you “program” your graphics, just as you “program” your document when you use TEX." This means that you are not drawing the result (think e.g. Microsoft Paint, Photoshop) but instead are writing commands to get the specific output. I did however take the liberty of using the verb "draw" for lack of a better one. I also think it is some humor involved in the naming (or at least I find the naming funny :) )

Hi Idrees Khan, Unfortunately I am not familiar with the specific editor in question. Additionally, without seeing your specific code (to make sure there are no typos) this becomes impossible. Hence I will only be able to give a very generic answers. 1)Try copying the following figure into your document: \begin{figure}[h] \centering \begin{tikzpicture}[scale = 3] \draw[thick] (0,0) -- (2,0) -- (1,{sqrt(3)}) -- cycle; \draw[dashed] (1,0) -- (1,{sqrt(3)}) (0,0) -- (1.5, 0.866) (2,0) -- (0.5, 0.866); \end{tikzpicture} \caption{My sweet triangle.} \end{figure} This will make sure that there are no typos. Make sure to add \usepackage{tikz} in the preamble. 2) Try another editor. For example if you are using a windows machine, try using TeXworks which is included when downloading MiKTeX. If the code runs then, there are something wrong with the editor. 3) If the full error is "\caption outside float", make sure that you have the caption inside a figure environment. Try also removing the caption to make sure this is not the problem. Hope this helps :)
