Honestly I figured she burned the tape because she wouldn’t have to deal with the brothers abuse again if he was never found.
@_bolognese2 жыл бұрын
@@MaeArt725 yeah i thought that too! she mentioned how her life was getting better, she felt more confident about herself, and she had made some friends. so, she was becoming independent, something her brother had prevented her from doing while she was "under his thumb". she could have also wanted him to face karma for his actions, her newfound independence becoming such a strong part of her identity that she simply didn't care about the one person she was so dependent on before. however, I do think it could have been a bit of both. the way she changed her mind at the very end, about turning the tape in, could have been the effect of "better films", but it could equally have been an impact of her brothers abuse. i really like the way op analysed it though; the simple breakdown of what happened definitely makes sense! this is a very interesting and well-written creepypasta that is simultaneously quite detailed yet vague and ambiguous. while we learn what she did, she never explicitly states why she did it. my favourite part of all of this is that i can't decide how strongly i actually hate "better films". because on the one hand, they are definitely a very shady, awful organisation that mutilate people, which is absolutely horrific. but, on the other hand, they deliver this extreme sort of karma for the actions of what seems to be disgusting people. the brother has previously recorded a starving dog (for several hours!), what else could he have done? we don't know anything about the other puppet, "ms kismet" (sp?), only that she is a producer who works at better films. the audience is left completely in the dark about the actions she took that lead her to such a dark path. to be honest, op's and your comment link together. i think it was because of his abuse that "better films" knew she wouldn't turn in the tape; they knew that she would do that one seemingly small thing to avoid suffering her brothers torment again. they take the ones that nobody cares about, because nobody will look for them, and nobody will discover the truth of "better films".

i quite like the idea of this. There's definitely a problem in film and TV where "auteurs" become awful, cruel people who abuse their crew and loved ones. It's often shrugged off as the tortured artist stereotype, or the behaviour is excused by large studios. Or, it's seen as "necessary for the art". A good example is The Exorcist by William Friedkin. The actors were treated absolutely abhorrently, in order to create "real" terror on their faces. But the film is still hailed as one of the best horror movies of all time. I think this story is an example of, "Sure, you like creating 'shocking' art, and think it's alright to hurt those around you to do it. But how do you feel when it happens to you?"

After the ending I’m starting to think the reason why Better Films never got caught cause they only kill abusers, and people who just won’t be missed, “Better Films, for BETTER PEOPLE” that last bit, BETTER PEOPLE, good people, the people who are the victims of abusers who are too kindhearted to even fight back against the people mistreating them and then This bit might be a stretch but “BETTER FILMS” all forms of media, songs, music, musicals, novels, poems, all of these seek to paint a picture and tell a story right? And that includes of course films! Films tell a story! So they’re giving a better story, to better people, by removing their abusers and bullies from their lives, they are giving them a “better film” a better story, literally and metaphorically just in a very violent way And that’s why they never got caught because if the victims went to the police then their abusers and bullies would come back, so it’s like a vigilante justice kinda thing? The only thing left is when the woman stopped cutting herself and cutting off her body parts to try to warn the girl, but the woman in the mask seems like she has some sort of power or hypnotism that she’s using, as a way to hurt people, and force them to hurt themselves? Maybe all the scarred people were abusers and bullies in some way too? Either way the brother got a gruesome ending, can’t knock on doors and expect no answer, he fucked around and he SURE found out!!
@abigailkondoudis5772 Жыл бұрын
I wonder what Ms. Kismet did to deserve cutting her own fingers off for the rest of time. She had to have been kicking orphans for fun or something to deserve that for the rest of her life. Honestly that’s probably not even an exaggeration Joan’s brother basically did that mentally her whole life.

That actually makes a lot of sense when you really think about it! What BetterFilms are doing are comepletly wrong, brutal and horryfiying but you cant help but feel no empathy for the brother.
@ariannebrodeur Жыл бұрын
This is deadass a good theory!! I was so caught on why Ms Kismet tried to beg for help if Better Films is about vigilante stuff, striking down abusers, but it makes SO much sense that the people forced to work for them are the abusers themselves! Just like Ms. Kismet, the first thing Joan's brother said was "Help me!". And that would explain why Joan was brought to the motel only to watch, and wasn't hurt herself. In fact, if they targeted her brother because they noticed his sick interest in dark snuff films, it would make sense if they were testing Joan to see if she was the same-if she deserved the same fate as him. If this really is the case, I like even more that it ends with Joan burning the tape, in a way almost joining ideologically with the woman in the mask.

when the finger cutting part first happened I legit gagged. I can normally handle stuff that’s gruesome (grew up with horror movies) but that part just made me squeamish [haven’t finished the video left but it’s good so far. Keeps me on the edge of my seat]

I’d like to warn people that there is s/h discribed in extremely graphic detail from 14:08 - 15:22 I really enjoy the art,but I don’t think the pinned content warning (describing it as “pretty scary” and saying that the warning was for “young viewers”) conveys how triggering that scene could be for many viewers (I actually skipped through it and only went back to get timestamps for this comment) I don’t think it was malicious at all, I just wanted to put this out there for everyone. My take is that this isn’t really that scary and is more of a gore “shock value” type of story. EDIT: I’d like to say that this comment was made BEFORE the specific trigger warnings had been added to the description of the video and I’m keeping the comment up because (especially for people who use the app like me) the description isn’t something someone casually watching the video will see unless they look for it.

So, how extremely graphic is too extreme?
@arisu_66352 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that, I read the warning in comments only after starting the video and I really wanted to finish it but was worried and didn't know what exactly is even ,,pretty scary" so thanks for more specific waring

Thank you!!! I skipped through it but. Aaahhhh it would've been useful to know. Thanks again

Ok, yeah that’s pretty extreme of a description But for visuals, there’s definitely a couple more notches to go

Alright, before anyone comes at me for this, I love the brother's character and personality. If you examine it from a villain's point of view, he literally was so driven to do what he wanted to achieve so badly. Sure he was very lethal with his words, but that's what makes me love him as a potential side antagonist and that ending was pretty good as well. I loved this.

The epic outro music along with her talking about burning the tape is the most insanely savage thing I’ve ever seen. Let’s not let her brother ever be found. EVER. LET. HIM. SUFFER.

1. The most scariest part of this story is that it could happen in real life. That fact sends chills up my spine. 2. When she burned the tape, I legit was thinking; pop off girl, good for you

Great video! I'm not sure if you're taking suggestions, but the story "I Took A Job As A Fire Lookout In The Woods, I Found A Strange Set Of Rules To Follow" (long title, idk) is a pretty good creepy pasta, it may be too long, but I remember being genuinely scared when I first heard it a few years ago.

Even though no one will see this comment, just a warning. At around 14:08 and 15:22 there's a graphic description of sh which can be triggering for some people. Another thing, nothing happens to the dog in the part with Ms kismet and the lady with the white mask.
